100% agreed! I really hate these retcons or even future-cons. The Super Soldier Serum is supposed to be rare, and stay that way. I wish they would just leave it like that. The formula was lost with Erskine and Steve is the only one of his kind -- if everyone is a Super Soldier, no one is a Super Soldier. It's like giving everyone in Metropolis Superman's powers, well now he's not that special if EVERYONE can do what he does. Like Cap's shield being unique and never duplicated, at least that has stayed mostly that way, except in the MCU where it's just Vibranium and there's a crap-ton of it in Wakanda so nothing really special. Sadly, I think alot of this comes from the dearth of creativity in the West these days. Because creativity has been lost and the writers are just lazy they keep rehashing old ideas, watering them down in the process, not to mention the disgustimg level of personal politics they keep injecting in to the stories! It's so bad, you would think the time of creativity has passed, but just check out anime and manga! The Japanese are killing it! Fresh ideas, new characters, no PC nonsense! Let your old characters be special for what they are and come up something new -- innovate, don't just copy your old homework and hand it in like it's something new!
It could have been a cool idea where the SS serum is more uncommon than rare BUT Captain America is the only "true" success with other super soldiers existing but with drawbacks either minor or major that don't affect Steve Rogers like for example that 300 test army you could have them all be successes at first but once they hit 30 for some reason they age at a rapid pace looking like they are 80 or 90 and develop highly advanced Alzheimer's, or a US Agent type character but as time progresses his intellect gets dimmer and dimmer to the point where he just stands in place drooling like a living statue

There are tropes that exist in all genres, wildly OP characters, over-the-top battles, etc. but Japanese anime/manga never fail to make it interesting and create new/fresh characters we care about and they do it all with aplomb! American comics don't do that anymore. They want to make a "new" character, they just race/gender swap an OG character and call it a day -- it's lazy. Sure, there are those anime/manga that go on for years, but they eventually end, with full character arcs, and a conclusion to the story .... but most rise from nothing, tell a beautiful story, and then go out on a high note instead of beating it to death and cheapening what they had -- maybe, just maybe, they can come back for an OVA, or a special mini-series, but that's that. Time to move on to another story and create something new and fresh. American comics (and I say this will all love for American comics) just keep drawing out the characters they have to death, never innovating, wrapping themselves in such a convoluted, nonsensical story that they need to run retcons like mad and "Crisis" and "War" their way out of the mess they made -- that's as lazy as writing a story that "was just a dream". Well it looks like Peter would have been an excellent candidate to me. His serum is pretty darn spectacular so I’m gonna count him as another success next to cap.
It was theorized (in the comics) That Erskine himself was a vital catalyst in the “creation” of Captain America, which is why it can’t be duplicated. Also you didn’t mention The Augmentation Process, which is where John Walker/Not Cap/USAgent got his super strength from (as did Battlestar, who they didn’t f*cking kill).
This is one of those videos that need to be on speed dial, every once in a while I have to explain this to someone and this is no doubt what they need to hear. Also I want that other video on all the people exposed to the version of Super Soldier serum.
Rob man, I want the MCU to go back and explain that Nick Fury in the Captin marvel movie was not the original Nick Fury. How sick would it be to find out that Nick was one of the 300 soldiers, had a successful variant of the Super Soldier formula and took over the Howling commando after Cap was lost in the ice. He and the survivors of the 300 became the first members of Sword and Shield. And as he got older (though far slower than anyone else di to his variant) Nick Fury discovered he could build the body doubles to place all over the world to watch and monitor everything, and then used the Skroll and body doubles as his agents. How bad ass would a tv show of Nick's howling comandos be, and an intresting way to how he knows everything and is everywhere.

IIRC Marvel retconed in the fact that the reason the Super Soldier formula worked on Steve Rogers was because he was exposed to something called 'vita- rays' after being given the serum...
@@tylongkicks8821 You'd have to track down an old series of Marvel books that detailed the histories of (the then) every Marvel hero. It was published in the same large format as used when Marvel & DC did their very first crossover (Superman/Spider-Man). The exact name of the book eludes me but I'm going off of an older time frame than the present history of the character- as such this might have been retconned.
One difference I'm not keen on in the MCU version is how the serum seems to impart actual fighting skill in and of itself, Steve had very basic training in First Avenger but was immediately combat ready after the treatment. Whereas I believe the comics showed (or intimated) that he was trained extensively by the military after the procedure.
Let's not forget the the Super Soldier serum was derived from the blood of a guy named John Steele who the Germans managed to capture during World War 1

Well it looks like Peter would have been an excellent candidate to me. His serum is pretty darn spectacular so I’m gonna count him as another success next to cap.
Captain America is my old favorite. Great video.
He thought it would get him high. 🤣
Beyond Omega Level: The Mask!
Cool! That was like a movie intro. Would it be possible for you to mention which comics did you use/ which issues ones did you show on screen?
Please do another (Crossover Universe) with... "X-Men meeting Mr.Jonathan Hickman" with a hint of Orchis-Agents and Deadpool hunting him.
Yes a list for everyone with the serum would be great. I already learned so much in this video
1) THANK YOU for this! 2) Yes, please discuss and list the variations of the SSS.
Great video Rob can you continue talking about the serum
7:20 THE PUNCH DIMENSION BAYYYBEEEE
Definitely interested in seeing a list of all the different iterations of the super soldier serum and its effects. I had no idea Peter Parker came in contact with a version of it!
That would be dope I use to try and read comics when I was younger and they weren't accessible to me so when I started collecting them this channel has been a godsend I'd love the super serum list
YES A LIST PLEASE!
I’ve long thought that in the MCU there is a link between the serum and the heart-shaped herb.
IIRC Marvel retconed in the fact that the reason the Super Soldier formula worked on Steve Rogers was because he was exposed to something called 'vita- rays' after being given the serum...
He had the perfect Serum all the other Serum were knockoffs
@@tylongkicks8821 You'd have to track down an old series of Marvel books that detailed the histories of (the then) every Marvel hero. It was published in the same large format as used when Marvel & DC did their very first crossover (Superman/Spider-Man). The exact name of the book eludes me but I'm going off of an older time frame than the present history of the character- as such this might have been retconned.
Heck yeah. I'd love a video cataloging every super serum use and it's results
That would be an interesting playlisy to watch you should make it happen rob!
Yeah Rob, make that video with each and every character that had some form of the super soldier serum!

What we need is not a "Robcorps" sweatshirts; we need a sweatshirt with Rob's ironic "and yah..."
Steve Roger is the definitive version of The Super Solider
I could use a sample of the super soldier serum. A retired military.
Make a list of all the supersoldiers serum type characters made, I'll watch it for sure.
Yesss!!! Please make a video of everyone who had the super soldier serum.
Hey Rob, what about an explained or beyond omega level on the enigma force/captain universe, and a list of it's wielders up until Eddie Brock?
Please do a video going through all the weapons plus characters
Yes, plz list the individuals who’ve had the SS serum in Marvel comics Rob. Love your vids btw❤️
Not only Karli is the Power Broker.... she's Hydra
Yea a list of all the people who got the super serum would be awesome 👍
4 years and counting, asking you to get in depth and cover The Octessence. Potentially the biggest marvel story arc in history!
Yes please more videos on the super soldier formula
I would love for you to make a video listing all of the characters who were exposed to the serum
Hell yeah, let’s have a Super Soldier roll call.
Perhaps even including Super Soldier from Amalgam?
At 2:54 that looks like a self portrait of Sergio Aragones.
A video of all the super soldiers would be cool
