My DSP just gets new vehicles anytime ones not gonna pass inspection we have more white Mercedes sprinters then blue vans so they just get new rentals and barely use the blue vans

First i did 100-200 stops a day Then I worked for DHL with 50 stops a day Now i work for Transforce and i did 20 stops for the entire day today driving a small car with great horsepower I never thought it could get better like ever
If anyone’s wondering why it is so hard to deliver packages at night. It’s harder to see the addresses on mailboxes and houses. Edit: also the benefit of suburb deliveries is that house deliveries can be fast and right next to each other. The downside is the roads can be busy sometimes so doing that work can mean less maneuverability. Residential neighborhoods usually are the same but I deliver to these huge houses in a rich neighborhood with driveways that can be up to a mile long. So either get good at driving or get good at cardio.
And animals just pop out of no where and scare the shit out of you. Also, dogs that are unleashed that you won’t know about when delivering to the house. Also, sketchy neighborhoods 🥲
@@Johnnykham_ that’s also true. Luckily if they have a dog and you work for FedEx then you can deny delivering their package. It might sound cowardly but some of these richer houses have giant dogs.
I finally started delivering for Amazon 3 weeks ago. My DSP just got kicked out of the warehouse's parking lot, so we have a 15 minute delay now when grabbing our packages.

There were also a bunch of new temporary hires, and they were parking in the grass. Amazon decided to move my DSP to a nearby Boy Scouts campground. As to why they moved US, I don't know.

When I was at ups we didn't head back to the warehouse until almost 11pm one night. I was driving home in my truck at midnight 😂 That was just one night though
All depends on the subcontractor. The dispatcher should be watching the crew and see who needs a rescue or 3 to not be out on the road until 10pm😢 I've had my share when the clock hits midnight and the scanner resets 😅

Two weeks you will be used to it. Take your time getting out of the vans, hopping out starts to add up after a while. Electrolytes are key especially in warmer months

So instead of having to click on the map all the time you can just look at the address on your scanner and go straight to it. And it’s a lot less stress as well if you know where they are

What DSP? Its mostly the 200 stops spread routes out while other DSPS get easy 160 stops all houses north Orlando area while the DSP I work for gets screwed with shit routes and I'm stuck doing the worse route my dsp does.. @@mmmmtastesgoood
I work as an Amazon driver as well. One thing that is weird to me, is that while FedEx and UPS park their vans and trucks inside over night and they have a whole staff that numerically packs your truck for you and all you gotta do is pick up your vehicle in the morning. They also have set routes everyday. Amazon is the only one that makes the drivers pack their own vehicles and is known to change routes completely, almost every day.

My dsp had their area changed from north jersey to nyc in November. It was so bad it made me quit before peak started. I was bringing back almost half of my SV route everyday, something I never did delivering in nj. Going up and down apartment stairs with full totes + overflow sucked. Not to mention the terrible grouping and no parking at all. All in all 0/10 don't ever deliver in nyc.
I can't imagine delivering in any part of the city I deliver out on lon Island and me no drive like doing the apartments out here, can't imagine the apartments out there with many floors and full totes

Our vans are over 5 years old most over 200k miles and every single light is on, most of the buttons don't work and some have non working backup cameras. I have had the powersteering go out on me on steep hills, doors failing to close, had the steps just fall off, one of the vans I drove had a horrible sulfur smell. We drive the diesel mercedes sprinters. When we got a bunch of rentals I was lucky enough to be the first to put miles on it after they were dropped off. It was nice not having to drive a pile of shit lol

From personal experience, the only time a DSP's RGU's change is when another DSP is added to whatever warehouse/facility you operate out of! When I started driving 3 years ago, my original DSP had routes that were about an 1 hour drive way. After a few months, when another DSP came along and started operating, we lost those routes and took those areas that were closer to our facility and kept those routes till the day we closed LAST Thanksgiving! (2022)
I love your videos and just started working for Amazon as a drivea week ago and I’m confused how to go about a situation and would like some advice. So Amazon sees our location as a small town therefore we don’t get a lot of resources. Our vans are shot to crap and most of them all have bold tires and flats but there’s nothing we can do. I drove on two flats that were bold for my 13 hour shift. Adding that snow is coming soon I’m not sure what to do. Also there isn’t enough vans to get a new one. I’ve tried to replace tired but they are dead too. Yesterday I replaced three tires for other drivers. What should I do?
that is not your issue that's something your dsp needs to take care of when doing your pre trip report the issue in the app even if your dsp says not too it will ground the vehicle until they take care of the issue dsps are cheap and try to do the bare minimum to these vans your safety should come first
For some odd reason I expected that Amazon would let you drive a van with problems to get inspected at a DMV. I just dont understand why some companies neglect such things

DSP & Amazon can easily agree to have start times early like 7am. And agree to end it at 4pm.
