Yes, I have a SSD in my PS4 and is much better. The PS4 and PS4 Pro hard drives deliver read and write speeds that hover around 100MB/s at best. The PS4 and PS4 slim are SATA 2, so if you upgrade to a ssd the max speed that you'll have is 300MB/s. PS4 Pro on the other hand is Sata 3 so can reach a max speed of 600MB/s. I upgrade to a SSD on my PS4 slim and the loadings times are much better, as the texture pop-in and will improve the PS4 menu speed/lag. Dont expect the speed of a PS5, not even close, but is a nice upgrade if you haven't done it yet.

I put a samsung evo 870 ssd into my ps4 slim and it made a noticable decrease in load times and at just £52 a cheap upgrade.
Any issues with the ssd overheating? I put a crucial mx 500 in mine yesterday and when i woke up the ps4 couldnt detect the drive anymore.
