Just curious why wouldn’t you put gear oil instead of the Greece? It seems that would be an upgrade to me?
I just put it back the way I found it, never to the grease off of the gears. I mean to put a little oil in there too, but did get around to it. Thanks for watching.

I have a old John Deere 165 I did a engine swap from a kohlar that didn't have a head my brother had it then I swapped it out for a v twin and it has a 3in pully on the engine. it goes 2 mph I am going to put a new belt and pully on it and it's a hydro I have a Craftsman 2000 I am going to mod it so much
I change out my hydro when we bent an axle and I am up to 11 mph...
And also I have a yard machines with a lawn mower engine I have video on it
Put the welds in oil ,water will cause it to crack

@@chud327 stick in a bucket of lime for a slow cool. Or cool down gradually in steps in an oven. Looks like you guys are having a blast !

That is funny, we just change the Poulan's and Deere's today and the boy's Murray has 4 different tires on it. They are so easy to change. Videos coming soon. thanks for the reply.
Thinking about putting bar tires on a zero turn for regular mowing. I’ve been getting stuck a lot lately and on customers yards it just doesn’t work out. Would they be a good option?
Using mine as an example, I would not go back to turf tires. It will tear up the grass a little, if you are not careful, but it doesn't get stuck near as much. I can only imagine bar tires would do even better. Plus you are not leaving ruts where you got stuck. Wnen I get a new mower, the first thing I want to do is improve traction and trash the turf tires... Hope it works for you and thanks for watching.

Robert Heinkel Just got them yesterday and they work great. Gotta say they do leave a little bit of an imprint when the ground is wet. But I would’ve gotten stuck today if I didn’t have them

@@chud327 AutoTrader is our main search engine for all vehicles, but nothing is ever cheap on there.
No - one is selling mowers cheaply over here - you can't get a mower with solvable issues, and no one delivers.
Don't give up, keep looking...
Tip, if you don't have access to a welder you can stick an extra set of spider gears in there and achieve the same results.

No, it worked perfectly fine, but we bent an axle. I am tempted to try to straighten it, in case the locked rear breaks. thanks for watching.

Wouldn't a larger pulley on both the engine and trans, make a v belt grip better? The larger pulleys would have more contact surface.
Bigger on both would give better grip, but don't go too big on the back, it will slow you down... thanks for watching.
Did the dinky craftsman have a motor?

Yikes a spicer be careful they don’t last long especially with that big vtwin it’s just asking to break man.....need a peerless mst 206!
my brothers been beating the daylights out of the spicer in his craftsman for nearly 2 yrs, the only failure has been with the pulley wearing out and needing replaced, he runs it in everything from mud and trails to 25mph speed runs on the street, it's his daily driver since he's legally blind and can't get a license

Why would you do that to a perfectly good John Deere
The mower deck was rusted away and the axle was bent, so it was not perfectly good. In my opinion, it is better now. thanks for watching.
