I wish the people working in cleaning/sanitation jobs would go on strike for a day, maybe even a week, so the public could really grasp the value and importance of the folks who do such jobs. Without them, everything would start to fall apart mighty quick.
I was just thinking this. The state of those Cardiff streets are just ridiculous after a night out. There is absolutely no need for it.
It's been done all over the world many times over the decades, including in New York City, and it doesn't much faze people. They just kept piling their trash on top of the huge mounds already on the streets and in the alleys, and just kept on going.

I do this job (johnsone sweeper driver) and love it, I work in the highlands of Scotland and focus on rural villages and a tiny ferry terminal. Most residents where i work take pride in their area and everyone knows each other. Watching all that litter in Cardiff shocked me as i find it difficult to find things to clean all day because there are no pizza shops, McDonalds ect. Now due to COVID no Tourists.
im stunned no one is wearing a mask like how i see them doing on Hoarders, especially w the state of that bathroom
like they said, the smell eventually gets trapped in the mask then its stuck to your face for hours, or just get used to it

I wouldn't do that job without a mask to protect me from the mold and other dust. If my employer wouldn't supply it, I would buy my own.

I'm SOO happy I live in Sweden! We have very strict regulations regarding cleanliness in kitchens and a vast list of how a restaurant/vendor/pizzeria etc. must operate to stay in business. On my community's website they even put up information on how well restaurants are doing in this matter and if they've had any remarks!

I really enjoy these full episodes. I realize that I'm a total neat freak; there is definitely something satisfying about cleaning up a horrific mess and seeing the results, not to mention that cleaning my apartment weekly and seeing things clean and shining make me feel prosperous in a way that material wealth cannot. At least if I die alone in here nobody's going to encounter anything like what I just saw.

The reason some houses get like this is because the owner lives with so much pain that in the grand scheme of things a miserable house is actually pretty low on the list of things making them miserable. They were probably ready to kill themselves any day and didn't see the point.
I wouldnt be surprised to learn that the owner had severe intellectual disabilities

Me too , it is odd why we want to watch this . But it's sad to see properties in such a state , they said the resident had died but had obviously been living in filth , no one knew how this person was living and not managing on their own , otherwise they would of been given some help or a carer to help them . Very sad .
As for the restaurant with the rats , what is wrong with the owners are they totally stupid , what do they think they are doing !?!? 😕

Id imagine theyll become very ill if they havent already, mold is a vile, disgusting, volatile thing.
In some episodes they say that if what they're cleaning is too smelly, it'll just get stuck inside their mask and they'd breathe moldy air without circulation
That's why the first thing they do everytime they clean is to open the windows inside the house to get some fresh air
@@tan.tan10 thats not true, a properly fitting respirator will protect you from the spores and microbes. But you are right about opening the space and airing it out to reduce the amount of concentration
whenever I move to a new place I bleach the hell out of everything even walls because you never know what kind of pigs lived there before you.
Just make sure to always keep door and windows open while at that and not to overdo/use bleach way too often as it can be very toxic and bad for your airways; caution is always needed when using strong chemicals as the point is to make things cleaner and more hygienic and add to your years; not take some years away by getting a respiratory condition ;)

Try not to use bleach if you can. Try to use natural alternatives. 👍

It should have been gutted.
Most likely cause the tenant has been there decades, no need to replace it during the tenancy if it still works fine. The boiler looked like it dated from the 70s.
You do wonder (with any food place, ie takeaway, factory) exactly how much hand washing actually takes place. Especially after toilet breaks, etc.
My husband gets sick regularly from our cheap local takeaway. They're dirty pigs that have changed management about 6 times in 2 years and he still won't listen and not buy from them
A good way to tell if a place has a clean kitchen is if it has a clean front of house. If you can see dirt in dust in places the public sees there's no way the kitchen is clean.
If they dont bother to wash their windows the probably dont bother to wash much else.
@@crazy4orlando2 Absolutely agree with this! A good front room is a good reflection of what is going on behind the scenes. I worked in a restaurant and our management were extremely fussy about cleanliness, so I know immediately going into any restaurant/take-away if they have a similar standard or not. If the eating area looks iffy you can bet the kitchen is a nightmare. That includes dust around/behind the heaters, dirt around hard-to-reach corners and smell. Use your nose - it can tell if an area hasn't been cleaned well in a while!
Absolutely shocking the state of those streets after a sporting game. I have lived in a very large capital city, gone to many concerts, games, plays, events etc. Never would something like that happen. It amazes me why the city would go to that length to clean up,after these pigs. No food /drink goes in the stadium, no food /drink goes out of the stadiums. No outside vending allowed. I honestly don’t understand the strength of entitlement that these disgusting people have. No excuse for it.

I never knew it was Henry Cole that made these programmes. We used to watch all these Grimefighters programmes and the life of grime too, with Mr. Trebus. Good to see these again. I used to do rubbish clearance work, but nothing this extreme. It was only old furniture, bathroom suites, carpets and general belongings. I did have to clear some gardens of rubbish, which were always rat infested. There was a shed filled to the roof once. You open the door and it was solid with stuff and once it was empty I had to demolish the shed too. Mattresses were another common thing. Some were inside but rotting away they were so old and others had been outside in the rain and the material and stuffing were falling off them, or they were good but stank of stale piss. Then another common thing was piles of carpets that had been left outside for a long time and they always had rats in them and often been there so long, they just ripped when you tried picking them up. There was one customer that kept filling their driveway with bin bags of old food and stuff you would put out for the dustmen. It always smelled a bit with maggots falling out the bags and general smelly liquid oozing out the bags. I don't know why they didn't put it out for them. I think after 3 years and a few thousand quid worth of invoices, they must have woken up to it, as the drive has looked cleaner since and I know they still live there. You got some perks though. Things like tools that nobody wanted or in clean houses there were a few cupboards and a bureau I kept and still have. It was all good fun really.
Why do I hold my breathe and breathe less when they go into these rooms 😂

the person that died in that house its so sad he was literally pulling out his own teeth and there was faeces everywhere, obviously an elderly person with mental health problems, what a sad sad way and place to come to the end of your life... i really feel bad for whoever had to live like that in the final years of their life

I don't understand these people who toss cartons and dirty cups from restaurants on the street. I was taught to leave a place cleaner than you found it. If there's no trash can take your rubbish home and throw it away there.

worked as a cook for 18 yrs and if i had ever seen anything like this in the kitchens the owner would have taken out a hit on one of us. they were that good in terms of health and sanitation.
How about full length extreme cleaning videos that are new? Surely the team has plenty of work and could be filmed throughout the process. I for one would love to watch the process for more than a few seconds. Deep cleaning is a lost art.

Street urination is easy to fix, just use tax dollars to build enough public toilets. Then make sure that there's an attendant to keep it clean enough. Problem solved!

I honestly know people who have been too lazy to use the bathroom in their own house and peed in a jug instead while watching tv. Not all the time. Just ya know when standing up sounded like too much.

Every time I saw the sweeper driven by, I gave them a can of coke or coffee. Appreciate for their service. Meanwhile condemning those throw their rubbish randomly on the street. Council should have imposed heavy fine on those who litter like 5 times the wages of a sweeper and compulsory to sweep the street for one month to keep the street clean and balance the government’s income.

This channel is amazing love it . But I'm from the United states and I thought I had seen alot but the house in this episode looks like hell on earth . I have never seen anything like that I dont know how someone can live like that is that normal? I ask because it seems to be a recurring issue with public housing.
