- Joy is a Fruit of the Spirit. But what is it really? Is it an emotion? Is joy a choice? Is joy the same as happiness? Is it something that just happens to us? Or can we, through biblical principles, take an active role in finding our joy?

Yes, what I love about joy is that it's about hope. Even in somber, painful situations we can still have joy because we hope for the justice that God will bring. Be joyful is a remembrance of who God is, in whom we believe, by the Spirit.

I believe joy is the heart of hope and faith and these three are internally connected. It's difficult to maintain faith without hope because faith is certainty and hope is possibility. How can you think something is certain if you don't even believe it's possible? So you can see how hope and faith is connected. Joy becomes the heart of hope and faith because if you lack any cheerfulness in the Lord, or any happiness in His love, then this lack will naturally have a deeper impact on your hope and faith. Imagine an unbeliever dealing with severe depression and a believer walks up and says, "God loves you." Their joy is already depleted, and since they're already an unbeliever, their hope (possibility of God's love) and faith (certainty of God's love) in your statement, "God loves you", loses all meaning and has a negative effect, increasing their unbelief. Therefore, hope and faith is essential, but without joy, they're difficult to maintain. I love you all, God bless

Hi Jon, I love listening and watching your 7 minute sermons. Have you ever done one on Jesus being the ultimate super hero? We have a camp for kids coming up in April that is for kids who have one or both parents in prison. Superheroes with Jesus being the ultimate super hero is our theme. Would love one of your short, sharp witty and switched on talks to show the kids before we kick off.
I like it, that you show the Bibleverse in your Video, because for me it's very difficult to understand you (because understanding English is very difficult for me), so I can look in my German Bible!

how can i find joy through the scriptures. I read the bible regularly but joy isnt a word id use to describe how i feel about it
It depends on why you are reading the bible. Are you doing it just to seem like a good christian? or because you want to learn more about God and His word?
