      We only fish one day a week on Saturdays. The minor or major will always fall in a time frame that we fish.

      Hi Lisa, it all depends on the species that you are targeting. There are thousands of areas to fish but every species is a little different.

      @@TampaBayFishingChannel Well I owe you guys a huge thank you. Went out yesterday and had a great day with my kids. Found some nice bottom in the middle of the channel inside the skyway and we caught a bunch of nice grouper. It was non stop action! A couple more questions: 1. I was chumming with dead whitebait/pinfish but the current was screaming so it seemed kind of pointless. I've seen you mention slack and slower current. Do you stick to chumming in low current and forego it when it's ripping? 2. You guys ever live chum or you generally stick to the dead stuff in the bucket? Thanks guys!!!

    Drag

    • @TampaBayFishingChannel
      @TampaBayFishingChannel  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you give the fish too much drag it is a lot worse than tightening the drag all the way down. Lost more fish with a loose drag than a tight drag.

    • @TampaBayFishingChannel
      @TampaBayFishingChannel  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think some of it has to do with depth and food availability. But I think most of the fish we are catching right now come and go with the seasons.

    • @TampaBayFishingChannel
      @TampaBayFishingChannel  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chaserendueles6346 when we used to anchor I would always drive the boat past the anchor and let the boat pull the anchor and I then would "let it fly" meaning that I would drive the boat until the anchor was at the surface. Much easier to bring in the anchor like that. The only time I have lost an anchor was at the skyway pier not the bridge but the pier.

    We went fishing the same day. We couldn't seem to find any good bait on the flats. We gave up and fished some fresh shrimp and got our limit of mangs by 10 am. We did get a bonus on the way back in and hit a school of mackerel. We chased them for an hour and put 20 keepers in the boat.
    I have been watching your videos and soaking up as much information that I can. I watched the tides friday night before the trip and planned our whole day out by them. We caught close to 80 fish this day. We have upped our gear and the bite ratio goes WAY down. Rather catch a bunch and lose a couple then to get very little bites. As you saw we had plenty of fish in the box. But thanks for the suggestion!!
