  • Thousands of music fans have been left frustrated after Manchester’s newest venue, the Co-op Live arena delayed its launch again due to technical problems.
    Several key stars including Take That, Keane and Olivia Rodrigo have been forced to postpone concerts.
    One event on Wednesday night was cancelled with less than an hour's notice with people already in the queue.

    Why are they scheduling all these shows before they’re ready anyways???One thing to cancel a test show another to casually turn people away 2 hours before this event. Did not look like they were even close to ready.

    They have cancelled events to make sure the venue is safe.
    Safe, as in protecting visitors from terrorist attacks, making sure the body scanners, bag xrayers, all of the emergency services and staff are trained and that their equipment works.
    All of these things need electrical power, so surely it's better that they have time to finish the safety checks, making sure they have constant power ,than to open the venue and people not be checked properly.

    When it gets to £8/£9 for a pint of beer....arenas will be like cinemas. People will stop going for comfort of their own home

    Thankfully, they haven't needed to spend much on promotion, or any advertising. Sky, BBC, All of them, will pay THEM, and millions, worldwide, will know their name, within days.
