Most underrated band of all time to me. I'm a techno/new age junkie, PM Dawn were their own genre and still are one of my top 5 favorite groups ever. Everyone should check out their full albums, they have many songs that are just as good , or better than, any hit they played on the radio.
My wife and I danced to this back in our college days and it has since always been a special song for us. Puts a tear in my eye just listening to it almost 30 years later.
Oh my God finally I have been crying out for this one!😭😭😂😂 Prince Be the lead singer died but his bro Eternal still doing his bit, glad you did this reaction video man, thank you🙏🏾 Oh and it's from the movie 'Boomerang' soundtrack 😁
i still have the 12" record to this tune i bought when i was younger, i still listen to PM dawn often on spotify, set adrift on memory bliss was their biggest song although i do like their "paper doll" track too
The movie soundtrack this was on - Boomerang - was amazing. It also had "End of the Road" by Boyz II Men. That song was number one for like a whole year. Pretty sure more people owned the soundtrack than watched move XD
It makes me feel old and very satisfied that we were there . I lived it . Was 22 when de song came out . Very nice song. Summer of 1992 was very loud nice hot and very many song hit came out . U got Bobby & Whitney ( and I will always love you) doing their thing jodeci, Joe Public arrested development tlc kriss kross . It was a fine summer then u have this pm dawn .
I watched a docu on PM Dawn, their disappearance wasn't due to their lack of talent but because at that time in the 90's music was leaning into the trend of the Gangsta rap and labels/studios wanted what was hot, causing PM Dawn to get lost in the shuffle... Gangsta Rap was becoming such a beast at that era even Conscious Rap was being shelved and forgotten... docu was on youtube
Great album!!! They are brothers and this album has some great songs on it....Sadly the lead singer...believe his name was Prince has passed, but his brother thinking his name was Eternal is still alive....Great memories...
This is the most beautiful song I have ever heard. So much so I dedicated this song to my wife at our wedding, and we slowed danced to this. This song almost moves me to tears.
Oh my Lord! PM dawn. Set adrift on memory bliss, I'd die without you & looking through patient eyes were played constantly back in the day. Good songs! Good times!!
Attrell Stephen Cordes, Jr. (May 15, 1970-June 17, 2016), also known by the stage name Prince Be, was an American rapper, musician, singer and record producer. Cordes was the lead vocalist of the hip hop group P.M. Dawn, which he formed in 1988 with his brother, Jarrett Cordes, also known by DJ Minutemix.Cordes, as the frontman and lyricist for P.M. Dawn, became known for blending rap with singing, as well as ethereal beats and aspects of mysticism and crypto-Christian imagery, to his songs. In 2016, The New York Times called both Cordes and P.M. Dawn "both underappreciated and quietly influential."
I absolutely loved this song ever since it was released, I have it on my playlist entitled Soft Side, that I still listen to often at night especially when I have trouble falling asleep and this hits the spot every time. So Good to see you again JayveeTV your videos give me so much joy and I agree with you on almost every video we have the same taste so much it's crazy. God Bless you Good Sir.
Have had them in my cd collection for a long time. Every now and then I go and listen to it, espeon a long drive. I wonder what happened to them... their music is really good.
Love PM Dawn. Been listening to them since they first came out. They never really blew up because they never really fit into any traditional genre. They disappeared after the 90's but the main reason they haven't done anything recently is because Prince B (lead vocals) passed away.
Oh, this gives me goosebumps!!! I loved this band, The brother/lead singer passed away from complications of diabetes (I believe type 1 that he had since childhood). Very sad, so much talent. I didn't realize it was as recent as it was but I think he had to step down due to his health issues. The entire The Bliss Album is great!
PM Dawn is one of (if not the most) underrated bands in the history of music. I know most think of them as hip-hop, but I think they were more in line with the "New Jack" era. The lead singer Atrell Cordes (Prince Be.) and his brother Jarret (DJ Minutemix) made up the duo PM Dawn. They were really big on the college circuit, but didn't have a huge following in mainstream. Atrell is no longer with us. He passed in June of '16. There is a cousin who's working hard to keep the name alive, but there's really been nothing since the Album 'Jesus Wept' dropped in '98. Sorry for rambling on, but I've been a fan of their music for 30 years now. If you want to give something else a listen. They have a song that was a duet with Boy George called "More Than Likely" These two songs hold the #1 and #3 spots for my all time 10 favorite songs.
What happened to the singer of P.M. Dawn? Attrell Cordes, best known as Prince Be of the '90s hip-hop group P.M. Dawn, died Friday in New Jersey. He was 46. Prince Be, who had long suffered from diabetes, died of renal kidney disease, according to People. Attrell Cordes and his brother Jarrett (a.k.a. DJ Minutemix) formed P.M. Dawn in 1988.
Bc so much in pop culture is cyclical, from fashion to music, I’m always excited to see how past styles will be brought back and reinvented. We’ve seen the rise of vapor wave bring back 80’s new wave synth, which is super legit, but I’d love to see the modern version of this kind of music. I include Qtip and Digable Planets, that jazzy, smooth music. It’s not just the sound & vibe, but the socially conscious messaging. Some of my fav newer music has elements drawn from older music, but reinvigorated.
Great choice to react. I don't know if people realise how much Prince B influenced music even today. PM Dawn was for the kids of the 80s n 90s who went with hardcore rap. RiP 🙏
I truly think this is one of most beautiful R&B songs ever written.
100% agree. Prince B is in my top ten greatest artists of all time.
without a doubt
@@distantnative2478agreed
Amen! It's not a sung hip-hop song 😂

This is a song you listen to lying in your bed with the lights out staring at the ceiling thinking about your life and good times and good loves.
This song gives me chills every time i hear it
Sadness, cold blooded and cruel of love victim
That’s funny cause also one of the best songs ever made is Chills by Fatty Koo
I'm 42 and I honestly feeling like this is one of the greatest and well sung songs of my lifetime!!!
Prince Be, the lead singer, became ill and eventually passed. They had great music.
RIP Prince be. He was truly a artist. ❤❤
I was 15 when this song came out. It remains one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. It's a song to crank up loud and slow dance in the dark

That Boomerang Soundtrack is a classic.

"Looking Through Patient Eyes" is another killer song from them. Give it a shot.

From what I remember, the lead singer had a stroke some years back. Edit: just looked up, he passed away in 2016. Rest in peace.
The early 90's had Exceptional SOPHISTI-POP happening! It was a delicious time of Cocktails and Lounges
High school all over again.

What's your 1st favorite song?
Real early 90s memories here. Kind of forgotten about. But got played like crazy in late 92.
TIMELESS.....
Sad that so many people didn't get the chance to grow up listening to PM dawn
31 yrs later still a jam!

A song from the film boomerang 🪃 👌

This song gets so damn emotional…one of the band members passed away.
I was in high school when this song came out. I had it on single cassette I believe it was part of the soundtrack for the movie Boomerang
Their other one is called Looking Through Patient Eyes. It might be my favorite 👍
YES!!!!!
Bought this cd when it came out and still have the cd.
You feel that? It does that to you. Incredible.
Patient eyes another fantastical song by these beautiful humans!
I think the movie in the background is "Boomerang" starring Eddie Murphy and many popular 80s actors.
Absolutely beautiful ❤
The lead singer passed away and remaining singer stated he can not be replaced and no longer performs the songs.😢
I loved this song!
Loved PM Dawn back in the day!
Beautiful right I loved it from day one ❤❤❤❤❤ 🎉🎉🎉🎉 music was so beautiful back then….. very smooth
