    I'm so glad I found you on TH-cam. I really enjoy your videos! I relate to you - I'm 55, 5 ft, with a starting weight of 221. I'm 3 weeks post op on my sleeve. I'm glad you addressed the sadness of not being able to pig out. Food has brought pain, but also enjoyment to my life. I've had periods of almost mourning, knowing I'll likely never be able to go out for those big breakfasts or eat a three course meal again. It's what I need, but brings a sense of loss at the same time. Thank you for addressing everything about this process, not just the positive side. The benefits far outweigh the negatives, but you still have to work through the emotions from all of it.

    Oh, how cool. There you are again. I was just wondering how you were doing. I had my Gastric Sleeve surgery this past Thursday, March 7th. Came home yesterday. Doing pretty well. The only pain is from the surgery gases. I'll be happy when those are gone. Such a new journey with all the sipping, tracking water, and protein. Anyway, it's Saturday and I did not take any pain meds today. That is surely a win. Please keep posing your videos. They have helped me so much.

    Boy do I feel that. My husband and I completed something called the merry mile. It’s a 1 mile Christmas themed run/walk. I was able to run quite a bit of it. My husband had to keep up with me! I used to have very bad hip pain. It seems to have gotten better since surgery. That’s very exciting.

    Glad to see you again! Sorry about the setbacks either surgeries but you will be strong enough sooner than you think and be able to break that sweat! I’m currently one week about 1 week post-op lap VBG revision to RNY gastric bypass. Had some bleeding issues right after surgery but all better now. Looking forward to losing weight asap! Take care sending love to you from Canada 🇨🇦 ❤

    I'm a little over a month out from Gastric Bypass. I lost 8 lbs. in the first 7 days after the surgery. For the past 2 weeks I haven't lost any. Despite going back to a job that's physical and walking every other day. I also have a rowing machine at home that I use the days I don't walk for at least 15 minutes, along with stretching and using a resistance band. I can start lifting weights in two weeks. I've tracked my food since October, right now I hover between 700-900 calories. I have to drink at least one protein shake and add protein powder to my low fat Greek yogurt in order to get in the protein i need to per day.
    I had a bad episode of constipation 4 days after surgery. Despite taking MiraLAX everyday since the two week pre-op liquid diet. It was so bad, It got impacted and I had to go to the ER to get it taken care of because everything I tried wasn't getting it. Thankfully I've not had that problem since. I still take MiraLAX daily just to be certain. Starting soft foods seemed to help a lot as well. I got permission from my surgeon to start it a week early.

      I think it takes your body a while to realize it’s not an emergency and it doesn’t need to hold onto all the calories/fat. I remember lots of stalls at the beginning - just keep to the plan and the pounds will start falling off!

    Great to see you so happy! Curious what do you usually eat for breakfast? That's my hardest to get my protein started for the day

      I have the same breakfast every morning - plain Greek yogurt (Fage brand) with stevia, sugar free Torani syrup and half an ounce of almonds. I love it!

    I have my surgery 4-23-24. I’m terrified! Any suggestions in regard to what to do before operation? Anything you would have done to stay positive? Or to prepare? Thanks Michelle love the videos and channel!!

      I think having a stocked fridge (protein drinks and pureed pre-measured foods) ready to go, along with an area of my couch with a heating pad, comfy blankets and all the essentials (hand lotion, lip balm, etc) ready for when I came home were key. Also, my program offered group therapy sessions before and after - I liked the before sessions because I got to hear a lot of personal stories from people who had gone through the surgery.

    Is there any products that you use on your hair for hair loss as I had Bariatric gastric bypass in Oct 2023 and I'm losing alot of hair now. I'm getting all of my protein in. Thanks Bonnie

      Some people advocate for more biotin and folic acid, but they didn’t seem to help me. I just made sure I was getting my protein and my vitamins as prescribed.

    I’ve tasted Diet Coke. I don’t like it. I drink water almost exclusively. I do drink 1 cup of coffee per day. I’ve learned that if I eat protein with a carb, I’m much less likely to have dumping.

    Have you tried toasting your bread? My nutritionist said to only eat toast. Regular bread can roll and get stuck. I prefer toast now. lol

    I’m just wondering about the dumping sit😅because I already have irritable bowel syndrome so is it going to just be like that or something else when I have my surgery

    • @nicoleislosingit
      @nicoleislosingit  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I had IBS with diarrhea prior to surgery, but now I struggle with constipation. I only have dumping if I eat a large amount of sugar quickly - overall, dumping is much less of a problem for me than I thought it would be.

    How do you handle red meat? I know you mentioned chicken and shrimp already.

    • @nicoleislosingit
      @nicoleislosingit  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I do surprisingly well with red meat. I do have to chew steak really well, but absolutely no problems with ground or shredded beef.
