    The new bluetooth reciever for the N64 was released by RetroTime: The N64 BlueRetro Bluetooth controller receiver.
    At the same price as the intecgaming N64 Wireless Receiver, which I reviewed as well ( • Nintendo 64 Switch Con... ), this adapter has more features and a smaller size. Watch me review this brand new tech for our beloved classic console the nintendo 64, pairing it up with the switch Nintendo 64 wireless bluetooth controller and how it compares to its competition from intecgaming.

    Thank you so much for this walkthrough, I was going through the programming trying to figure out how to use the memory and rumble pack interchangeably without having to program it online everytime. So much easier for a button combination push.

      Hello Collin! I'm glad my video could help 🙂It really is handy to have a shortcut to switch between the memory and the rumble pack.

    This is the best video on the BlueRetro 64 and explained everything perfectly. I have a switch online controller and a BlueRetro coming in the mail tomorrow. Can’t wait!

    Input lag is a really big thing for me because I speed run Mario 64. Seeing that there is minimal input lag on an lcd screen (I play on a crt) I’m very excited to get mine. Amazing video!

      Hello CRAZYrandom! 👋 Thank you so much 😊 Yes I was very happy to see that the wireless connection doesn’t ruin the fun with any lag. It works great on my OLED so it should be really good on CRT as well 😎 I hope you’ll have lots of fun with it. Mario 64 is such a good game.

    I don't have an N64 blue retro, but I do have the controller board Blue Retro for the GameCube. So far I like it and it works wonderfully.

    Brilliant video - this covered everything I wanted to know about this adapter as well as all the useful information on formatting and switching between rumble and memory card.
    Now I’ve just got to hope that the NSO N64 controllers are restocked at some point in the near future!

      Thank you for your feedback 👍😊 I’m glad the informations is helpful. Keep checking the NSO online store. The joypads come in more regularly lately it’s just sold out again so quickly. I keep my fingers crossed for you that you can get your hands on one soon.

    Do you know if the memory card feature has a battery or if it doesn't? I only ask because the original memory packs had a battery, and if it died, you lost all your data.

      Hello👋 I think the adapter saves games like a modern usb thumb drive so no extra battery is required 😎

      Hi Kiba_Hiro 👋🏻 The Nintendo Switch N64 controller was just back in stock two days ago. The RetroTime adapter used to be in stock but demand surged lately. You can go to 8bitmods and enter your email. They will contact you when it’s back to order.

    how does this work with the new 8bitdo DIY n64 controller? I'm having trouble with the button mapping Z doesn't work and B functions as down C

    • @SamDansCouch
      @SamDansCouch  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Venom, I’m sorry you are having trouble. I don’t have the DIY mod but maybe the retro time adapter needs a firmware update for this to work. They just added google stadia controller support to the firmware so this might happen soon too.

    • @rekcarctuna
      @rekcarctuna ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@SamDansCouch I had this issue. You need to make sure the controller is in S mode. The controller will then behave normally.
      I'm still having issues with the buttons incorrectly mapping every now and then, and I'm still trying to activate rumble mode despite pressing the respective buttons as in the video - just a heads up.

      Yea. I bought 2 of these kits thinking they would work. They'll be delivered soon. I already own 2 n64 switch controllers so I'm not sure why I even bought these. Hopefully retrotime makes snes adapters too.

      @@mattymatt022000 yes that sucks it doesn’t support the kit yet. Hopefully a firmware update will fix it. For my SNES I am using the 8bitdo adapter which works great 👍

    Is there a way to format the memory cards without using the web interface? I have been trying for the last hour to connect via web interface. I downloaded the google chrome browser like you said and still nothing

    • @Chad_Hart
      @Chad_Hart 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Update: Successfully formatted the memory cards without using the web interface. Here's how I did it in case anyone else has this issue of not being able to connect via the web interface.
      You need a Game Shark. I used my Game Shark Pro (v3.3) to format the memory cards on the adapter. But it wasn't quite that simple, there were a few steps needed to accomplish this.
      In order for the memory card to even appear in the Game Shark menu without locking up the Game Shark I had to create a memory pack note on EACH of the 4 the memory cards (i used DOOM 64, didn't need to beat a level and save it, just create a game note when the game begins). If I didn't create a game note on the memory card the Game Shark would ALWAYS lock up/freeze. But once the game note was made "Controller 1" finally appeared on the Game Shark menu screen. Now the memory card finally appears in the Game Shark menu without locking up/freezing after the game note is made. The Game Shark says next "This memory card needs to be formatted" so push YES. Let the Game Shark do what it does. Now you have a formatted wireless adapter via Game Shark without using the web interface. (Remember this process must be done 4 separate times on the 4 separate cards within the unit).
      Big props to this video and the creator for the knowledge that the home button switches between memory card/rumble pack and the capture button toggles the 4 memory cards - I most likely would have never figured it out myself. One thing that helps is you will know when you are on a new memory card because the game will ask if you want to make a game note. Select YES and repeat the process using the Game Shark.
      Hope this is able to help those who like me who were not able to format via the web interface. After it's up and running it's the best improvement the N64 EVER!!!

      Final update (I think):
      This just keeps getting better. Physical memory pack games saves can also be copied to the digital memory of the RetroTime N64 adapter via the Game Shark menu when two controllers are connected to the N64.
