    Possibly the best Overland setup I've seen so far. So glad to see it built on a ZR2 rather than a typical boring Tacoma.

      @uPredict yes like a tacoma has never had issues.paleez!

    • @casper24ism
      @casper24ism 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @uPredict look if owned 2 and 2 4runners.they have their own issues,like if your a normal size guy you have to duck your head to even get in it,it gets terrible gas mileage, and it's boring looking..

    • @casper24ism
      @casper24ism 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @uPredict I'm 6 ft I totally had to duck my head to get in.i get it tacoma is a good truck but it is night and day difference with power and handling compared to a zr2.and in my opinion the zr2 is 1000 percent better looking my wife has a 2019 jeep grand cherokee,I cant get in it either. If your 6 ft or talat tacoma is too small I have friends 6 ft 3 that have colorados,they cant even get into a tacoma.

      @casper24ism 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @uPredict no I dont have the bison.i think it's over priced.i hope you test drive both trucks before you buy.like I said I had a tacoma,totally built 4x4 and it was gorgeous but I would never take that tacoma over zr2.test drive one you will see

    That's is an awesome set up!! When I saw fireplace I was set but a propane. I got sad, I was expecting a woodstove fireplace.

    Yooo I just saw this rig today Sunday Sept 19, 2021 in downtown Ouray while visiting for a couple days I was walking down main Street and it stuck out I did a little recording on my go pro and when I was going over the footage I decided to type in TH-cam, Chevy Colorado Overland and this video popped up this is truly a clean build sweet rig my man. 👍

    7.5 feet with just the main portion, thanks, I have been looking for that information all over and it seems to be purposefully omitted by everyone. I really thought it was because the long section wasnt a bed by itself that you had to have both panels down to sleep.

    • @leem1914
      @leem1914 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same here. Looking At Vagabond Drifter as the front is open with the bed down. Now I know Alucab can do same. Make heating sleeping area Easy

  • @billstrehl9822
    @billstrehl9822 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    @Blue Ridge Overland Gear; If you ever get a chance to weigh the vehicle when it is all loaded of with fuel, water, food, gear and people please post that number; with about 1200 pounds to play with in payload I am concerned that if I bought the Alu-Cab gear, which I think looks really well designed, I would need to limit myself to skinny travel partners:-)

    • @billstrehl9822
      @billstrehl9822 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      of course that is assuming you see Rin again

    • @BlueRidgeOverlandGear
      @BlueRidgeOverlandGear  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check with OK4WD. It's their rig.

    • @billstrehl9822
      @billstrehl9822 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BlueRidgeOverlandGear ,@OK4WD, Thanks. I left a message on their channel but no response. I watched the video again and it looks like Rin's truck has a gas engine (since I didn't see and Duramax badging) which buys him a big increase in usable payload compared to the diesel.
      I'm just glad you did the video since I haven't seen it featured elsewhere including OK4WD (which seems like on oversight on their part).

    • @rpsulli
      @rpsulli 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have the same concern, but peak performance has a rear leaf spring that adds 750lbs to your payload. That's my plan once I save the cash ;)

      People who want diesel and factory front and rear lockers. However for reliability Toyota will always be on top.

    • @annon91221
      @annon91221 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmm.... I rented one of these from gears of travel for a trip to kootneys with my wife... took grey creek pass to get from east to west kootneys... took old grey creek pass not knowing how hard it was.... I'll tell you this... no production Tacoma would make it to the other end of that pass as easily as the Colorado did... had to use front lockers a few times.. Water crossings there were brutal... was so happy to finally come out the other end of trail.... I keep thinking that if GM was to build all their vehicles like they did with this truck, they would never loose market share... too bad that's not their business philosophy in general though... lol

      The dbl cab Tacoma in 4wd has less than 1200 lbs total payload, that 's why!

      @william francis I priced out a 2021 ZR2 Bison with all the gear I could detail from the video and came out a little above $72K; with other items I would add it was just under $78k
