    love the truck bro! its cool how you built your own version of the AEV bison rather than buying one off the lot and your seems like it fits your needs and purpose perfectly!
    great video also! you are very well spoken, knowledgeable, and the video/edditing was great! Cant believe you only have 2k subs! instant sub from me! this channel is going to BLOW UP! keep on keeping on brother!

      patrick rose - Honestly, I’m old and slow having bad knees so other than a shell, an extended range c-ph antenna, and those cool Rigid Industries lights I’d be set. Snorkel would come in handy out playing in my nearby Mojave desert. Wife just not feelin it with me right now. Oh well. 🍻

      patrick rose - I had a warn 9.5 on my 2012 JK, I got tired of idiots utilizing me as a recovery service. Dozens of stories to my history. I’m grumpier now, I also have to be mindful of cost. Helping The stranded might make you feel warm an fuzzy, but the losses in equipment, vehicle damage, TIME invested, blown batteries.
      Vehicle damage. They connected my line. The VW was sucked in so bad I pulled the bumper out really bad. Dip shit wanted to sue even though I warned him siad structure would NOT take the pull.
      NONE of these sad sack low dollar people we’ll ever make good on a promise. Winch mounted- user beware. Nowadays, I see conditions that look crappy, I do a retreat. In California, its snow conditions. I only head up during the week day. Still, three or more remain helplessly sunk.
      I would be more apt to get a warn Engine powered winch and stow it in the back of my truck. Hidden. That way you can winch from any direction. If need be.

We are running nitro gear 4.11’s And on Tuesday I have an appointment to swap out the gear oil. Then we can hit some trails. After thoroughly putting both rigs through some significant testing. I would never invest my money in an IFS suspension vehicle for off road use.
      For a simple Trail read it that’s fine. If you don’t plan on lifting it and going with larger tires. You will be limited to what the capabilities of the vehicle are. There are just a lot of weak points.

  • @rossbergstedt5772
    @rossbergstedt5772 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great looking truck! Very tough and stout!! I went back to look in the video and searched comments, I didn’t hear or see what (if any) spacers you used? And BTW, in searching the comments for an answer to that, I saw that you were wishing for the Jeep Gladiator. If you eventually go that way, I would wait until at least the 4th year of production (so at least a ‘21). A friend of mine (friend of a friend) has a 2019, and has had very bad quality issues, i.e Transmission grind, radio turning off and on randomly, bad rattles from nearly brand new before off roading. He is now deciding wether to go to a ZR2, or back to a Wrangler. He is just so pissed at FCA, that he feels that he doesn’t want to give them any more business.
    Keep up the good work, looking forward to more videos!

    5:24 : I am curious to know any way you could have mounted the awning over the back part of the truck tailgate? (just tie down the glass topper a smidge). Mainly for sun cover/ rain cover while cooking with also having the tire swing in full drop down table cook mode with the tailgate dropped?

    • @TrailAdventuresTV

      Hi Chad. Yes you can mount the awning off of the back. However it might not be as sturdy. The Prinsu roof rack has been known to break when mounting awnings and or other items off the back to only one crossbar. Hope this information helps.

    Wow. Just, wow. Question about your shock mounts. I don’t think anyone is a fan of where Chevy places them. I’ve seen one you tuber who moved the upper mount outside his frame and then welded new lower mounts much closer to the wheels. Have you considered this? Do you feel that the protection is just as good? Does the mount placement by Chevy bother you? Again, wow. Great looking functional build.

    • @TrailAdventuresTV
      @TrailAdventuresTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Steve Caruso The 589 shock relocation mounts are a game changer. And I have certainly considered it. That being said the DSSV shocks are very expensive. A set of four is over $4000. I believe when it comes time for new shocks I will install icon vehicle dynamics suspension system and have new shock mounts fabricated at that time. And get them up out of the way. Nice walk around! I have a 2018 Colorado ZR2 and like the look of your truck. So you only have a leveling kit on your truck and not a lift correct? If so does that help with the back shock hang down? To me the Rear shocks and the spare tire are the Achilles heel of the Colorado ZR 2. In your experience is that so and if it is how can I overcome that? Also do any of your modes put the truck's warranty at risk?

    David: Beautiful and practical rig, especially for the uses you describe. The one mod that I noticed was the license plate cover. Did you get the Cascadia Flipster V2 or the Universal? Hard to tell but it looks like the V2. I also like how you mounted the hinge on the bottom, versus the way Cascsdia shows them all on the top, which is a bit clunky IMO. You do a great job with your videos, sir.

    • @TrailAdventuresTV
      @TrailAdventuresTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Joe. I hope your weekend is off to a great start my friend. You hit the nail on the head. That is the Cascadia V2 . I was worried I wasn’t going to be able to use it with the configuration I have. So I swapped some parts around and made it so it flips downward. And it has worked out flawlessly so far. Being in California, regulators requiring a front license plate. It makes this a true necessity here. I appreciate all the kind words and it certainly keeps us motivated to make more videos in the future.
