    The thing that I really like about this approach is that for only $20-30 more I can change the way the blocking has been handled underneath each shelf and actually create a stressed box member, so that the 'thick' look you're trying to achieve actually does something - namely it creates a stronger shelf and lets me put more books/weight on each shelf before I have to worry about visible sagging happening.

    Love this project, they ended up looking great! Quick question - if your shelves are .5in, wouldn't you be .25in short of the 2.5in face frame? .5in shelf + 1.5in spacer + .25in hardboard = 2.25in. Same for the sides and spacers. Am I missing something?

    Hi Stefani! I love this. I have a home office space that I'm going to redo over the summer. My husband does not like my maximalist design choices so my creativity is relegated to this one room in the house. The trade off for having these creative liberties is I have to do it all myself. Your videos give me great inspiration to achieve it, although I am not as focused as you and unfortunately, tend to give up quite easily. Can you share how long the process took you? How do you deal with setbacks and frustrations along the way?

  • @shawnbrennan7526
    @shawnbrennan7526 ปีที่แล้ว

    Love the look.
    Not sure why you put 3/4 plywood AND beadboard in the shelves; I would have just used the beadboard as the backer since you don’t need that much strength to keep the shelves squared.
    I also would have definitely screwed through into studs, but maybe that’s my time in California.

    What dresser drawers would you use for a wall build like this ? And would you keep the top straight across if the roof has a slant on the wall being used? Would appreciate feed back. Trying to do something like this with dresser drawers for my small master bedroom to not have all these bulky dressers everywhere. THANKS

  • @NiasSweetSounds

    Ilove the look of these, but the issue i have with built in stuff like this is you've now committed this room to always being an office, even for the next home owner. Can't imagine that would be an easy uninstall. Looks pretty, though.
