    I just bought a RX 6400 for $150. Amazon US has the T400 at $142. It’s pretty close.

      Here (Canada), the t400 is overpriced everywhere except one website, where it is just over $100 usd. I'm a bit surprised that the RX 6400 hasn't come down in price much since launch.

    AMD won the GPU award with me, once, about 20 years ago. The specs and propaganda finally won me over from Nvidia.
    That GPU was so bad I will never buy a AMD GPU again.

    I think comments are forgetting something big here, this gpu is only 30w so no psu cables for it. This is why its better then a 1030 ddr5 outside of the like 25% performance improvement.

    The cheapest way play games on a computer is emulation, in my opinion. It opens the doors to old school games that do not require an RTX card. And do not draw a lot of watts (the kilowatt-hour costs have sky rocketed).
    I am seriously considering purchasing a pre-built (without a discrete GPU) as you can get a 12th gen intel CPU and Win11 within the same bundle. May I ask though, would the i3 12100 be good enough for a T400? Moreover, what size (roughly) should the desktop be in order to fit the T400? I have found some pretty awesome deals with SSF pre-builts but maybe it would be best to look for a midi sized pre-built...
    Thank you for always making awesome uploads!!

    • @TechDweeb
      @TechDweeb  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh you'll be A-OK with a 12100, and the t400 is just about the smallest and quietest GPU available, so no problem to go with a sff build.

    In Turkey t400 is 2600 tl ($142,50 ) and rx 6400 is 2500 tl ($137,02) i think i have no choice rather than rx 6400 for a cute budget system or a media center

    • @TechDweeb
      @TechDweeb  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh for sure, at that price the only reason to go for the T400 would be if you needed the extra features like video encoding.

    Hey Dweeb, I have a me being a dumb@$$ story to tell.
    So on my main rig, I use a Displayport to connect my GPU to my monitor. I forgot that DP cables usually have that little groove you push in to make it easy to take off, but my idiot self forced it off without pushing that groove in. I could of ruined that port on my GPU....I felt so stupid when the next time I went to take the DP out of my GPU , I actually pushed that groove in first and it came out with ease.

    My PC case will only accept GPUs that are low profile and with the maximum length of a T400, T600 or T1000 GPU. I just got an 8K TV and I would like to know if the T400 is capable of running an 8k TV @60Hz at the same time with a second monitor in 4k @60Hz. No intention to run games, only PC content and movies in 4k and HDR.

    Would this be better for emulation than an RX 6400 when using pcie 3.0?
    Seen plenty about pcie 3.0 affecting overall performance of the RX6400 in modern games, would it have much of a difference in emulation?

    • @TechDweeb
      @TechDweeb  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think on average the 6400 loses about 15-20% performance on PCIe 3.0, but would still outperform the T400 even on PCIe 3.0 systems.

  • @Ellexium_
    @Ellexium_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Do you think pcie 2.0 would be that much of a bottleneck to the T400?

    • @TechDweeb
      @TechDweeb  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not much of a bottleneck there. The T400 is full PCIe x16, and on a weaker GPU like this that's plenty of bandwidth. Some games are more PCIe speed dependent though, so your mileage may vary.

      I can't vouch for all them but I've never had a problem. Definitely the ones that come with retrobat are fine. I think the bigger problem is the sketchy sites that you get ROMs from, that's where you're likely to encounter shady software and viruses and stuff.

    not worth it, at least in my country, it costs $170 here
    for the same performance there's the $100 GT 1030
    for the same price there's the GTX 1650 or RX 6400 that are better
    and for both cheaper and better the $100 RX 580 demolishes every one else
    talking about new cause if we go to used here the 1660 Super ranges between $140 to $180 and it not only destroys the T400, 1030, 1650 and 6400 but the 580 as well
