I bought the 2019 Street Bob in February. I am very pleased with the way it rides. Everything is still stock and the bike runs like a champ. I agree that the seat isn’t the best. The bike seems to be very nimble and tears through the gears. Great review of the stage four.
Thanks for the time you put in on these vidjos 😂. I really appreciate all the content of your channel, especially the engine builds. It helps sift through all the numbers. Great to see your channel evolving, getting smoother every day. Keep up the great work 👍🏻.
My husband has a 2020 Street Bob with Basanni Radial Sweepers. Our grandson would be riding it now but he joined the Marines. Is in San Diego for basic training. The Few The Proud!
I traded in my electra for a streetbob back in 2011. I used the spare cash to fit it out with HD QD racks and sissy bar. I bought the leather bags and converted them to QD using "barebacks", Kuryakin wheelie bag takes good amount of gear (I removed the wheels and internal rigid box) , kury roll bag mounts on back rack, so I have decent capacity, which all dismounts easily to leave the bike clean. Fitted National Cycles "Gladiator" windshield. , bike is stage 3 , runs sweet, returns between 44-55 mpg- imperial gallons. When running in the stage 3, I got 60 mpg. 8 years on, never looked back, and don't want any other model-its a keeper. Oh-and wheels were changed to magnums. Michelin Scorcher tyres are brilliant.
Just wanted to pop in to say....This vid was one of the 2 things that inspired me to want a Streetbob with a 131 motor. And now that I have one, I LOVE IT! And by coincidence, I even have the same exhaust, and it's awesome.
I don't know of any other subscribers are having an issue with your Channel, but I had to look you up because I haven't seen the video from you for a while. Now I got to binge-watch like the last month
I've rode the stock 2018 street bob and it was a rocket ship stock! I can just imagine stage IV! I've always said if I were to get a second bike it would be a street bob.
Cool video. I did a stage 2 on my 114 2018 softail - and yes it gives you 100% of the power instantly, in any gear at any speed. Ear to ear grins. 80 to 100, or zero to stupid, right-freakin'-now. Love it! Highly recommended.
I'm a porter at district Harley in Maryland, and I PDI miles on a that same street Bob , and mannnnn, does the throttle push you beyond the seat! Needs a new seat for sure! Stage four, I can't imagine ! I rode a Sportster all my life and converted to a street Bob but I don't own one but man, such a great bike.
95 degrees.. Just like Queensland Australia . We both live the same sort of degrees! I’m saving to visit USA 20/20 and ‘ can’t wait ‘ !! Thanks for the clip .
I recently picked up a 2018 Heritage 117 Stage 4 with that same Bassani exhaust. At 723lbs, its a beast of a bike. Absolutely nuts. Just keep her above 3000RPMs and she screams.
I have an old blacked out 00' Deuce with a 95" build with other goodies and im easily passing the 114 tourers. Its a mid range monster. So yes, weight is everything and I only weigh 180lbs.
Nice ride along thanks, learn a lot from your videos and commentary. Your right, power to weight on bike is a big deal. My 96cu Dyna is a quick as some of the bigger HD's.
A buddy of mine just picked up one of these & absolutely loves it even in stock form. Now of course I want one, I love my Sportser but this bike is a nice jump up & it surprisingly handles well & it's 100 lbmost of all the torque is addictive.
Dang... I'm pretty far away from my bike right now but the way this sounded and the way the video was done really made me miss being home to ride my bike. Wont be too much longer now tho and I'll be riding. Cant wait. Good video
Wanting to do a stage 4 for my 16 streetbob. First I want to upgrade the brakes and suspension before throwing in more power. Lol. Nice job on that Street Bob. 😎
A VERY impressive bike and I really mean that. I’m a Softail Sport Glide fan-boy but that is very good value for money, personalised, performance bike - top commute, weekend bike with a bit of customisation. A bike you just enjoy riding and would like to hang onto until someone takes my cold ,cold hands off the bars.
At the 5:30 mark the Stage IV (blue) hp line was referenced while the Stage III (purple) line was referenced. I’m surprised the Stage IV setup doesn’t make as much toque as the Stage III considering both kits come with POWER cams. I’m sure it has to do with the cam specs?
Dad2dannyjr dude I would HANDS DOWN trade it in if I were you. I’m sorry to say this but it’s FAR and above an upgrade. The motor is one thing, the suspension is on a whole other level. It might as well be a different model all together.
They are all on that tiny lcd screen on the bar riser and are similar to new cars in that they can be cycled through the different modes of readout, rpm, speed, range etc.
Love this video. Going to pickup my brand new 2020 street bob in a month, stage 2 kit, saddlemen seat step up. Jerkyll and Hyde 3 sound exhaust. It is going to be a blast 😎🤘🏻😍. Really enjoying your videos John 💯
Hey John. Rode a couple of the Slim 107's. And a couple of 114's. I like the 107 in the Slim. Smooth and plenty of low end takeoff. The 107 would be better for my area. Shame they stopped it in the Fat Bobs.
Was thought about doing the same thing to mine 18 street Bob But I'm happy with the stage one with a ss mufflers removed the tank emblems and usb undertank happy with it ride it more then my 19 roadking lol
John you ever messed with the FXDR 114. I'm wondering can you keep the stock air breather housing and just add the Extrem Flow filter to it, or would you have to change everything out. I like the stick breather box on it.
Harley Davidson really stepped up their bikes with the 2018 year... I really like the new softail bikes... I will take a street bob in billiard blue please...
So I stopped the video @4.41 to see the cam specs.... rear cylinder grind is different to the front - that is how pans and knucks were in order to stop the rear cylinder overheating = GOOD THING ! ... but question, if the rear inlet opens 6 degrees after TDC how the heck can it have a TDC figure of 0.036 inch when it is meant to be closed John ?????
I test rode a Street Bob and 114 Fat Boy back to back and I found the stock Street Bob so cramped, less than 200 yards on the bike the seating/foot position were causing me pain. Would love to try one with forwards on to see if this helps as the 107 Street Bob was as quick as the 114 Fat Boy.
John Maxwell , I’m riding a ‘19 CVO Street Glide. What is the difference between the stock motor on the bike I currently ride, and the StageIV? My heads are labeled with “Screamin’ Eagle” badging, and I cant really get anyone to tell me the difference in parts kit, and the stock 117ci. Any help is always appreciated, and keep up the great work!
John, I have a 2018 CVO RoadGlide and have also been trying to find this info to no avail, my dealer not much help on this question. I know a few CVO riders that would appreciate any info you share on this....THX
I used to have a 18 CVO street glide and I asked the same question. What I was told is, there is no "stage IV" or etc. upgrades for those CVOs because they already come equipped with the biggest size displacement engine HD has to offer. Meaning, you can buy a stock softail and get it to a "stage IV" to basically get up to par to the CVOs stock.
IM Following this as I have a stage 3 on my 2018 Fat bob 117 but have recently bought a 117 cvo set up for my fat bob so just looking to change the heads, throttle body and cam out so = stage 4, so was wondering the same thing is it classed the same as a stage 4 with CVO parts and are the screaming eagle heads forted on a CVO to a good level?
I'd definitely go with a Stage III kit looking at those torque curves. Stage IV exeeds Stage III only from above 4,5k rpm. For the price of a massive torque loss below 4,5k rpm.
I really like that bike man, that's so close to what I'd do in pretty much every way! Thanks so much for sharing it. It's only a matter of time until I get a new softail!
I really like the sound of this Street Bob. I have the 107 M8 Street Bob. I'd like to have you do this upgrade on my Harley. Is this possible for my 107?
If you still have the spring loaded tensioner then change the head to the Cyco pads. if your runout on your crank is under 0.003 the go gear if you can .
ive got a 06 88" fuel injected heritage I didnt have any wear issues at 30,000. but i still upgraded too the hydo tentioner. I also put in the larger oil pump SE203 cams bored out too 95" with KB forged pistons Big Boyz street heads Roland sands air intake and VH propipe SE super tuner . 98Hp 108 TQ. im very happy with it. Runs great around town and screw on the Highway .
John I enjoy the videos I have a 2010 Softail classic heritage and I am wanting to get a tuner and not sure what to get can you give me any insight I am going to have Rinehart 2into 1 and bigger air intake and do camshafts in the near future.
Buying my first Harley. I have the money for a new street bob to pay cash. Or there’s a 2010 wide glide that’s gorgeous and build to a 103ci with a lot of touches I’d do myself. Basically has the 2010 stage 4 kit equivalent. It’s only $9k. If you could have either which would you choose? The 2010 is almost $7k cheaper than the 2019 out the door.
Let's see a Stage 3 build on a touring bike with Zippers 468 cam and D&D 2 into 1 pipes. You'll experience torque like never before in the upper 130's!!!! 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Stage 2 / 112hp and 130 tq at the wheel with just the 468 cam and D&D 2 into 1 on my 114. Runs circles around the stage 4 screaming eagle kit and saves thousands.
Robert Hodges Red shift has the 468 and 472 cams for the M8 that are basically drop in cams with no need for changing valve springs. Combine with a good 2 into 1 exhaust and you get huge performance gains over stock. I got peak torque of 130 at 2800 rpm and it holds over 120 until 4500 rpm when it drops off to match peak hp of 112 at 5250. Power drops off at 6000rpm. Perfect set up for heavy bagger. Considering that the stock Dyno run was 85hp, it’s a pretty nice increase in top end as well.
Love the bike except I need the Tack and Speedo up high and the old analog style so I can read it in bright sunlight. Does Harley make this with a bright engine and trans ( no black coating )? I would like a new Harley but I don't want black period.
to make good power on a pushrod 45 degree v twin and still pass emissions, you are having a laugh, consider yourself lucky you can still buy this aftermarket.
Buckeye harley in ohio stage 2 with work included is 3800 bucks and the stage 3 is 6800 bucks. Stage 2 they are charging for 11 hours of work and the stage 3 is 22. Ridiculous
How different is the cooling on the 107 with the Stage 4 as opposed to the 114? Do the heads still get liquid-cooled? My DWG is in the shop getting a new engine. My backup Superlow 883 is in the shop getting a new belt. So they let me do an "extended demo" on the Fat Boy 114 cause they don't do "loaners". Changing the name makes all the difference. I don't love the Fat Boy but I can appreciate that 114. It's got accel for days. The stock exhaust is deep and throaty without being overly loud. Just about right. And I think the 114 seems to definitely run cooler than my 103. Right now, I don't see myself buying another Harley. The WG is what drew me in and none of the rest really "move" my soul. Now.. if the MoCo would produce a softtail WG with the 114, I don't think I'd have much choice in the matter. It'd be like a moth to a flame.
John, It was great meeting you today. I know you are busy but it was great to see you. Thanks for the stickers. I will send you a coin when i get home.
John Maxwell It is all good, I didn’t know if i was going to get a chance to meet and I only had a few minutes anyway. I will be back next year, if not sooner. If I know when we I will take you to lunch.
John & readers - Not sure if you are still watching comments from this post. I just picked up a 2019 Street Bob. Was a wreck, rebuilding it. It has the Bassani 2-into-1; anyone find a way to tame the loud exhaust sound? I'm having a tough time finding options for it, and the family/neighbors are getting annoyed with the sound. Thoughts?
I have the 2018 fxbb with just a stage one an the same new wheels yes the stock breaks suck and there isn't a whole lot of options yet to improve breaking
I haven't looked into brakes yet, most times people don't actually list them as working anyway. This is one area that performance minded facebook groups or the forums can really help out. Lots of people put the brembo touring calipers on other models, but HD isn't advertising that they fit. most folks on the forums when they figure out something that works, have no problem listing out parts used!
Nice video, I'm looking at purchasing a 2020 fatboy. What stage would you recommend right for the get go? I'm no speed freak but I want power when needed (overtaking) and motorway speed comfort. Thanks
So will this street bob stage 4 keep up with a r6? Gsxr750? CRB 600 r1 ect? Like what will the stage 4 keep up & or beat. I am used to having sport bikes but I love speed, and my fxbb is super comfy and cool but it is no were near fast I want to go stage 4 but will it make it at least as fast as a gsxr 750?
Great video, killer bike! So, i have a dyna with an old school stage 4 carbureted twin cam but i don't like the breather. You mentioned that Heavy breather doesn't bolt right up, how hard is it to modify to make it fit? I'd love to slap that Heavy breather or Big Sucker on it! What should i be prepared for? Thanks John!
John what does a stage 4 set you back in price that’s what ile get next all o have is a stage 2 torque cam pretty quick but few years ile do 4 I reckon
So I gotta ask. New bike, yet to be delivered. Did the warranty go bye-bye with that exhaust change? I just bought a '19 Deluxe and dealer tired my hands with pipes.
I’d like to hear any thoughts on doing a stage 4 on a 1200 Sportster. People say it isn’t worth it and to just get a bigger bike, but I find the sportster size and ride to be pretty great. It would be fun to get a bit more power and torque in it.
I like the wheels, but I like the graphite version better. Too bad they don't offer it for the Street Bob. I would have to opt for the stage 3 since it offers more power and torque in the rpm that I ride. Do they offer tank lifts for this bike yet?
Nice video the street bob was my favorite from the lineup when they came but I ended up getting the heritage because of the bag. But now I’m getting water in my right bag when it sit out in the rain has it happen to you or you know of it happening to anybody else
Whats the price out the door with this set up? Im looking into getting the same bike, different accessories but stsge 4 anyway. I had a 2014 slim with stage 3 and i loved it but i had to sell it to pay some shit off and i bought an 07 street glide with low miles, 103 kit, custom bags, led and the list goes on. I really like my bike i just need something to rip around on. So ill have best of both worlds. Im 6'1" and 230lbs, do you think this bike will fit me with? I plan on forwards. Will i like it compared to the slim? Thanks for reading and answering! Fyi i test drove it last year fully stock and wasnt too impressed. Didnt fit well but like i said it had stock controls and stock bars. Gotta go 14s and forward........whatd your thoughts
Are you aware if there is a hydraulic clutch conversion for the new version for this bike? I checked with the local HD dealer and frankly he either doesn't want to bothered to look or he isn't that good.
Awesome Vid, I have a 2019 Street Bob with a stage one, man the torque on that motor is redonkulous. It is quick even at that stage. Now I really want the stage 4. One question I have, which is not related to the stage 4. It does relate to the bike however. Is there a way to do the mirror flip on this bike? I have been trying to figure that out for the life of me, but I'm stumped however.
"Noises are bad but sounds are cool"....that needs to be a shirt.
Haha I scrolled down just to say that.
@@nocolon it's so funny.

@@Timschneller1 I am very interested in that cam how is the midrange and does it effect the top end performance at all?
Robert Hodges Red shift has the 468 and 472 cams for the M8 that are basically drop in cams with no need for changing valve springs. Combine with a good 2 into 1 exhaust and you get huge performance gains over stock. I got peak torque of 130 at 2800 rpm and it holds over 120 until 4500 rpm when it drops off to match peak hp of 112 at 5250. Power drops off at 6000rpm. Perfect set up for heavy bagger. Considering that the stock Dyno run was 85hp, it’s a pretty nice increase in top end as well.
@@Timschneller1 lose your warranty with mods other than screaming eagle parts and tuner on 2018 and later m8s
I have an appointment for June 6th to have Stage II installed on my M8 107. Never considered those wheels till I saw this video...
Love the bike except I need the Tack and Speedo up high and the old analog style so I can read it in bright sunlight. Does Harley make this with a bright engine and trans ( no black coating )? I would like a new Harley but I don't want black period.
Hi John, would it make sense just going with 107 engine going with a stage 4 kit, 117ci,then buying a 114. Economical
What Harley’s cost, stage 4 should be standard or offered from factory.
to make good power on a pushrod 45 degree v twin and still pass emissions, you are having a laugh, consider yourself lucky you can still buy this aftermarket.
@@TheSpitfire2207 Then it is time to turn that horse into some glue....
Buckeye harley in ohio stage 2 with work included is 3800 bucks and the stage 3 is 6800 bucks. Stage 2 they are charging for 11 hours of work and the stage 3 is 22. Ridiculous
What a gorgeous Motorcycle and it sounds like a Beast
Love this bike, just got my 2020. What type of sissy bar is that and foot pegs. Thanks
Thanks for swinging by! Sorry I didn’t have time to hang out longer!
John Maxwell It is all good, I didn’t know if i was going to get a chance to meet and I only had a few minutes anyway. I will be back next year, if not sooner. If I know when we I will take you to lunch.
Enjoying the ride videos, looks like yall have some nice back roads up there. Keep em coming!
I have a question a street Bob with this kit how would the performance be compared to a road king special with a 131ci given the weight difference.
Thoughts?
Great video! I like the Street Bob, and this customer really went first class! The exhaust sounds awesome.
Great vid , as always. Would you recommend stage 4 upgrade to a 2019 Softail slim?
I have the 2018 fxbb with just a stage one an the same new wheels yes the stock breaks suck and there isn't a whole lot of options yet to improve breaking
I haven't looked into brakes yet, most times people don't actually list them as working anyway. This is one area that performance minded facebook groups or the forums can really help out. Lots of people put the brembo touring calipers on other models, but HD isn't advertising that they fit. most folks on the forums when they figure out something that works, have no problem listing out parts used!
@@TheHarleyTech Thanks for the information I greatly appreciate it you taking time to help
I have curiosity question what would you suggest me to do to my 07 ultra classic it’s still 96ci and has like 36000 miles on it?
I’d like to hear any thoughts on doing a stage 4 on a 1200 Sportster. People say it isn’t worth it and to just get a bigger bike, but I find the sportster size and ride to be pretty great. It would be fun to get a bit more power and torque in it.
I like the wheels, but I like the graphite version better. Too bad they don't offer it for the Street Bob. I would have to opt for the stage 3 since it offers more power and torque in the rpm that I ride. Do they offer tank lifts for this bike yet?
DK customs have tank lift kits.
I got this bike love it i want to change the exhaust 2 to1 or 2 to 2? Which is a better call
How much does each stage normally effect the bikes mpg?
Nice video the street bob was my favorite from the lineup when they came but I ended up getting the heritage because of the bag. But now I’m getting water in my right bag when it sit out in the rain has it happen to you or you know of it happening to anybody else
I have just the stage 1 on my ‘18 Street Glide
What A incredeble sound John 👌🏼
Sounds awsome. Mine seemed quiet at first but once I passed break in it sounds awsome with the Rhineharts on it.
I like those bikes, very cool minimalist look... and it seems to have some nice "giddy up and go"
John I have a 2018 street glide special. I would like to lower it down 1 inch, I already change the seat. What else could I do to lower it down?
Awesome Vid, I have a 2019 Street Bob with a stage one, man the torque on that motor is redonkulous. It is quick even at that stage. Now I really want the stage 4. One question I have, which is not related to the stage 4. It does relate to the bike however. Is there a way to do the mirror flip on this bike? I have been trying to figure that out for the life of me, but I'm stumped however.
How much for overall total upgrade cost street bob 2019 stage IV ?
