George B thanks for the reply but I’ve since bought the street bob and made most of the upgrades I had planned. I had such a good deal on everything I bought and if I had done the same upgrades to a low rider S i would be 4 grand worse off putting me way out of budget to where I couldn’t afford it. I have a russ wernimont shock coming and a plex audio setup and it should be complete. 👍

@@daibish86 i am right there with ya. totaled my 2019 fxbb, was tempted to replace with the low s since it was not available when i bought the 19. Ended up with another fxbb with abs. Have the txr fairing, 12" risers and bars, forward controls going on next week and rwd rear fender soon to come. the extra 4 grand would have been a little bit bigger tank, twin disk front brakes and a bit bigger rear tire. not worth it in my opinion. spent almost 3 and made this my own. enjoy the fxbb!

The rotors are the most overlooked on this bike! My FXBB has almost everything this bike does but these rotors from the stock rotors set the wheels off. Love this bike!

Harley davidson out here in Sacramento did a custom 2018 softail lowrider build with the red color and all blacked out engine and parts, one of the sickest builds i have seen so far.

Matt, I'm on the East Coast, but ever since I discovered your channel a few days ago, I'm hooked!!! I love the way you and your team modify your Harleys, ESPECIALLY the best HD platform bikes ever made...THE DYNAS!!!!!!! Your team has great taste and variety in the way you modify your bikes! I love the green Dyna with the old school Low Rider/Hot Rod paint job that your shop guy owns. That has to be my favorite Dyna I've seen on your channel, thus far. Now that I've subscribed, I am going to watch all of your previous videos I've missed! I enjoy your thorough explanations of the modifications performed on the bikes, your attention to details, and the way guys share the different build platforms is what I love about your shop and crew. Please keep up the videos with the Dynas, I'm looking forward to seeing more!

I had an 18 fxbb and now have a 19. I love the bike. Having lots of fun making it my own. One "problem" I'm having is this.. I'd like to have a more comfortable seat..but the larger seats make the small gas tank look funny imo.. Idk how to explain it, just with the longer taller seat it throws off the lines of the bike, the profile.. I may go opposite n put on a bobber seat..

To me this is almost a perfect build. I would only change a few details, like the mirrors for instance, and maybe add some kind of crashbars (I like Bung King's), but this is by far the most badass build of a 2018 softail I have seen so far. Makes me want a 2018 Street bob so bad. This instrumentation looks so nice and clean! And I thought your previous clubstyle street bob build was already cool, so much I replayed the vid a thousand times! This is on another level. How much for all theses parts and labor?
I wish all H-D dealers worldwide (I live in France) were as cool as Laidlaw's. Your videos Matt are one of the reasons I started to get interested in Harleys in the first place (I ride a modified SV650 right now). Keep'em coming please! I'd like to see some kind of 2018 Low Rider "Easy Rider" style type of build next, that would be really cool.
Can't say enough good things. Big thumbs up.

So despite the all-digital display in the bar clamp one can actually fit a riser? Reason why I didnt want to buy the 2018 Street Bob is the difficulty with that display. Dont want to go 10" riser, just 5" or similar.

That's the nicest Softail Street Bob I've seen yet. But I don't like the tank on it, it reminds me of a sportster tank. But I'm bias towards Dyna's. With the everything that you've done to the bike, did it change the way the chassis handled? When I put T-bars and polyurethane handle bar bushings on my Dyna Street Bob, the steering felt a lot tighter.

Really nice build. Bike looks great. Visiting CA in the spring, will come by your dealership and rent a bike. Thank you for all the great videos and info. Take care Matt.

A fantastic, tastefully executed bike build there! Looks like a wonderful machine, nothing over the top. What is that saddle made of? Looks like some sort of fabric? I was thinking about rain and water getting in...
Great vid as usual and keep em´coming sir!

Does this quartet fairing reduce wind drag? Or is it just looks?

Hello Matt, I ve just rewatched the video, I have a question. Is the fairing shaking because of the GoPro ? Or it just shakes when you get higher speeds ? Thanks!

Did you have to extend the cables or was there enough slack?

The bike looks absolutely fantastic, the owner ought be extremely happy. Personal thing, but I've heard those pipes live on an FXLR, they are just too damn loud for my liking. With this build, were you able to read the gauges while riding without too much trouble (glare??) and how would that be for someone somewhat shorter than you, say 5' 6" or 7"? Also, the parts on the table showed a pair of floating disc rotors, were these fitted to the bike, part numbers, will the rear disc fit the FXLR?

Hi Matt I’m considering buying a street bob. I really don’t like those rubber boots on the front forks. Did you just remove them ? or is there a bit more to it?

Hey Matt - I imagine you needed to replace the cabling for the speedo? I can’t find it in the catalogue - can you point me to the right place? I’m coming by to see your shop next week - can’t wait!
