    To this day the best on the road video I have ever watched. As an engineer I would have been very nervous about passing people on the right shoulder but this guy knew his job and neat that law enforcement cleared a path for him

    Guys i absolutely love this this, makes our UK roads look tiny. What a great drive and fantastic siren and bullhorn, great communication on the radio take a look at how the UK chiefs get around

    • @leonardochapman4736
      @leonardochapman4736 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      their driving is terrible compared to emergency drivers here in the UK, in this video they've cut across medians; driven very aggressively; never slowing down, which forces the cars to move when it could be unsafe; etc

    • @literalantifaterrorist4673
      @literalantifaterrorist4673 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@leonardochapman4736american emergency driving is typically more aggressive because we can afford to be more aggressive and because we have longer response times. additionally, it is really hard to tell relative speed with the dashcam FOV.

    Outstanding video! It was so good that I went out and drove the route. The route shown was about 7.5 miles. So the average speed was about 50 mph. On the Interstate it got up to 72 mph. Not bad for a 56,000 pound fire truck. Good job, guys.

      @wranglerdave6452 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      ya but i'm a firefighter as well. and i seen how long it takes for response times to incidents on the autobahn and you have strategic placements of rescue and private ambulance/ fire departments over there... 90% of our's are county /city/state funded. &10% volunteer. and ours are also responding from great distances at times so breaks in our guard rails would cut down response times in the golden hour for critical incidents.

      we hardly have any privat ambulance services over here?! We have exactly one private EMS provider in the city, which runs only 1 single ambulance, whereas all others are runned by the Red Cross, St. John, Order of Maltese. And the Paid FD in my city has only one single station (the city has 200,000 inhabitants, 2 highways, whereby one of them has 2 tunnels), all other stations are from the Volunteer FD, but they don't run 1st alarm calls, no first responder calls and so on)

  • @pizzasubs
    @pizzasubs 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The worst first part was having to go so far past where the fire was before they actualy found one of those emergency cut-throughs, then when you had to drive down the right hand side emergency lanes, that is where over half the time you see all kids of debris like semi truck rubber that has come off of their tires, or sometimes lots of other garbage and in a case like this, your hoping that you don't have to run over any of that kinds of stuff which can burst a tire or something worse...

  •  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    if you hear it day in day out it's boring in the long run of course. In Sweden we have hi-lo and yelp it's not so useful in heavy traffic. But i have mounted an american fire truck air horn on my unit too it's similar to the one you guys use on your'e apparatus. Nice video.

    Police don't sit at fire stations. That was nice of the officer/trooper to post up where he/she was at the cutover to try to not only alert the FD where the cutover is but to assist with the final lead in to the scene. Realistically, though, a big fire truck rolling code is going to garner a lot more attention from motorists than a police car any day.

      @@tuckerteige1 that's not true, as long as you protect victim information it's completely legal. See "Live Rescue" as an example.
      They have both ambulances and firetrucks responding to scenarios, they just make sure to bleep out any names, addresses and blur faces. Most departments just need approval, but definitely not illegal as long as you protect personal information
