    Those ganache and gelato recipes are amazingly good! I made the gelato with the NijaCreamy. Today, I will make the same recipes, but I will use peanut powder and almond powder instead of the butter versions to make it less caloric and less "lipidic".

    I can’t have tofu or soy so I’ve used Japanese sweet potatoes or Hannah yams which are white and cook them in my instant pot, peel the skin off and use two of them in place of tofu. They each have a bit of sweetness. Scrumptious! I’ve also added cacao nibs as a different texture - adds crunchiness. This recipe is great. Haven’t been able to wait until they freeze up!

    This recipe works great in a Ninja Creami machine. Try switching out the flesh of baked and chilled Japanese Red Sweet Potato for the tofu. Switch out Mejool dates for the maple syrup too.

    Has anyone tried making this with regular firm tofu (not silken)? I know Jane doesn't recommend, but I'm on low FODMAP and cannot have silken tofu. I'm also limited in amounts of sweet potato. I wanted to include tofu for the extra protein and calories, which I need more of on this diet to keep my weight up.

I've gotten the silken tofu for your lemon frosting . Extra Firm (same brand). When I mix it w/Lemons and maple syrup its a bit "grainy". I'm not sure if that's bc of the lemon juice or maple syrup? Any thoughts anyone?

    • @veganpeace_ATX
      @veganpeace_ATX ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I make a vegan chocolate frosting that even meat eating friends love, you do need a high speed blender like a Blendtec or Vitamix. For it I use a Japanese sweet potato or a Hanna yam that is roasted in a 400 degree oven skin on until in gets real sweet and syrupy. You can peel it and use it as the tofu part, it doesn't taste like a regular orange sweet potato, it's just sweet and creamy after blending it. For my frosting I blend it with toasted pecans, dates or date sugar, vanilla, dark cocoa powder, and a little oat milk. For vanilla frosting leave out the cocoa powder and use cashews instead of pecans. They're also great to dip fruit in.

    I love following along in your books when I watch your videos. I can not find the Silken tofu where I live in Canada. I tried regular extra firm tofu to make the peanut butter Ganache in the vitamix blender. It turned out thick creamy and smooth. I scooped out half of the mixture. Added cacoa powder and more maple syrup and blended. I then layered the 2 blends together in a Ninja Creamii pint. Can't wait to see how it turns out! I wrote the s'mores board recipe on the same page as the ganache recipe. Will be trying that out as well now that I know it works in the vitamix blender. Thanks ladies. Your videos are awesome!
