I’m retired 37 years in a big truck before I retired. I loved the last Volvo I had. It was 134k every night from Michigan to Tonawanda N.Y. 4 nites a week. Great truck with tons of storage. Didn’t like how much plastic rattled but newer models 2ere getting better.
We need the honest opinions of truck drivers that have experienced all those little annoyances of interior rattles, wind noise, down time and expenses to fix them.
I come from Switzerland, a small country. But when I saw this amazing truck on the road, my mouth dropped open. And last but not least for the safety of others, the digital cameras for the left and right side, installed as rearview mirror monitors, are phenomenal
I LOOOOVE these big Volvos! I used to drive one some years back and it was honestly the best truck I've ever driven. Everything in it is so well thought out. It appears the new redesigned 2025 model is doing away with the sun roof and that's too bad because I think Volvo is the last manufacturer to offer that really nice feature.
Yes I agree with you after many years of driving truck my 1999 Volvo 770 was my favorite and most cost effective truck. It had a Manual 13 speed transmission and it was also the last year CAT put an engine in a Volvo. I wish I never got ride of that truck. One thing you said is the adjustable steering is Hydraulic, it actually sounds like air assist. I always slept upstairs and left the table set up. Let me drive that truck and I Might come out of Semi-retirement. Nice review.
Thank you for your positive feedback! Yes, I accidentally said hydraulic when I meant pneumatic. If I had the 860 today, I'd also sleep upstairs and have my dining table setup on the bottom. I used to drive a 07 670 so I never had the luxury of an entire table 😅
Going to need to talk to your government about length laws. But with the longhood trucks you're still running, I don't understand why there aren't more big bunk cabovers? ...is the hood exempt from the total length or what?
I am not sure of exact numbers on this one because I don't have any of the paperwork for it but i've been told its around 200k. I'm assuming give or take 10k around that.
I like most everything on the volvo truck except the location of the transmission controls. Don't know why they don't to the shifter stock instead of buttons on the dashboard
You can Relocate them near the dash with push bottoms you need a long wire and 3 push style buttons or switches that's what I did to mine and make driving the truck feel better
Gotta move those horn buttons. I find myself honking accidently when im driving. They are right where your hands naturally go. You also need to move the tv mount because you cant have a microwave and a tv, you only have room for one or the other. I cant find a microwave to fit that also accommodates a tv
I owned 3 Volvo trucks. Two of them where VNLs. 660 and 780. My first truck was a 1989 GMC / Volvo W164T. I bought that in 1996. Really thinking about buying an 860., however, that auto shift is not my cup of tea. Can someone with a 13 speed or 18 speed manual with under 50K miles, let me know and I will pay you cash for it.
The Volvo FH16 780 has the new 17.1 Liter Diesel Engine: you can spec it for 600Hp with 3000Nm ~ 2213ftlbs, 700Hp with 3400Nm ~ 2508ftlbs or 780Hp with 3800Nm ~ 2803ftlbs. Volvo has been letting Professional Drivers in Europe test drive the FH16 780 6X4 XXL hooked up to two 16.5 Trailers giving the total Combination a length of 34.5m ~ 113ft with a loaded weight of 74 Tonnes ~ 163,142.1022lbs. That FH16 780 pulled that Rig up a 12% Grade with Ease. That FH16 780 IS THE FLAG SHIP OF VOLVO TRUCKS. It should be Imported (at first to become Established) here to the North American Market. 🤔😎
Must be sucks to sleep on 4 piece of cushion instead of real comfortable mattress after 15 hours of work, fixed bed that can be lifted is much better option but sadly it’s not available in new 860, losing so much storage space under the bed, I’d like to buy new 860 but available space organization is probably worse in industry

Qual é a diferença de um VOLVO VNL860 Globetroter XL com o outro VNL 860 sem ser Globetroter.
I appreciate you making this review without dumb humor like Raiti's car reviews. Straightforward is good.
What a beautiful machine
I wish Australia could brong in volvos like this, here v have the tiniest cabins

Is it real Chromed metal or just Chrome looking plastic?
Honestly I'm not sure at the moment, but I'll check it out and get back to you
How about giving us some warm real wood trim, like in the dodge pickup? Class-8 builders are still hung up on prison yard gray interiors. 😢
What’s the weight. It looks pretty heavy.

Wow where did they find this person to review the VNL 860 You can open the entire side fairing even the one along the fuel tank
Awesome...Thanks
Not if it's not spec'd with removable fairings. Which most aren't. Fixed are more common and don't fall off near as much.
Volvo vnl 860 globetrotter's to dubai are travelling to lana rose's visited
Kati parxa sir and downplayment sir Volvo vnl 860 xl trailer truck 2025 model in Washington DC
Volvo does it right.
I don't like the bottom bunk. Because it's in 4 different pieces.
That's how I'll be after a day's worth of driving anyway so I'd fit perfectly,!😅
Thts why most drivers sleep at the top
I would like that to be next truck for 2025 it's very good truck to. 😂
No big screen ????

So many creatures comforts and no sliding built-in cover for the sunroof? Very weird.
