Gotta say that one has very scarce specs. No passenger side box door, cloth over cabinets, no apu, no lumbar support seats, no chain box/side set catwalk combo, drum brakes all around. Hmm.
The smaller mirrors are supposed to be paired with the side mirror camera monitors on the A-pillar. If you don’t have those, the truck needs to be equipped with the regular size side mirrors. The spec on this truck is super cheap, even for a fleet truck. And speaking from experience, I will never drive a Paccar motor again.
You can prevent getting locked out of your truck. Get a Guitar string (G-string) loop it at the top of the door slipping the string through the brass button on the string. Leave it a little loose. Connect the other end to the lock stem on the passenger side. Besides wrapping it around the knob and twisting the end, cover it with some JB Weld. Now any time you forget your keys and accidentally lock yourself out, just pull on the guitar string and open the lock.
I don't get it. Peterbilt claims this is an 80-inch sleeper. The Volvo's VNL860 77-inch sleeper looks bigger than this one. And i measured the VNL860...it's like 68 inches from the back wall to the back of the driver seat. How do these manufacturers measure these sleepers??
Can anyone tell me why the sleeper doesn't go back further. There is just this big wind Deflate area that is open. Just asking why not make more livable space in sleeper. The passenger side door is a must on the full space storage compartment. Do any of you truckers still order or use manual transmission anymore. I see most new semi's with the automatic shifters. Just asking for feedback thank you 😊
How much does a Microwave and a small T.V cost it should be standard on these trucks paying 200-250k for one. you would sell more trucks little things matter to a buyer.
As a newcomer to trucking, I recently made the switch from International to Peterbilt. So far, I have to say I prefer the International. One major drawback of the Peterbilt is its limited steering radius, which I've found to be quite restrictive. The fridge is ridiculously dinky. International, Freightliner and Volvo is much more practical.
Surprised they did not go camera mirrors which are even better i would assume for aerodynamics. Windscreen washer fluid so close to a very hot Turbo hmm.
Good point on the mirrors.....as for the windshield washer fluid; maybe it'll help in the winter with defrosting the windshield by spraying it with warmer fluid?! LOL
I have driven 579s with both Cummins and Paccar. Cummins is better all day long. My biggest reason why, is the Cummins was much quieter when I was sleeping. The Paccar constantly shook the cab with the fan kicking on and off all night. Seemed like it wanted to regenerate several times a night. Despite that, it would sometimes do a forced regenerate the next morning. Right as I had my hours back and was able to leave 😑. I guess the regenerates from the night before, were just practice 😂. I felt the Cummins had much better torque and still got the same fuel mileage as the Paccar. The Paccar engine is just.. there. It is a cheap option to just get the truck moving down the road. That is my opinion and I am sure many have had different experiences.
Drove a 2022 model replaced those pins about every 3 months horrible design also interior is ok but the idiot who thought to put the fridge on the ground should be kicked in the nuts. Talk to a driver quit thinking you know stuff. Digital dash is ok has a lot of glitches I could go on
Why do they put two Clean Idle Certified stickers on the door, one is bad enough? I feel anyone that would need to know this these days already knows. Whoever ordered that truck cheaped out on their driver trying to impress them with that Epiq tag. “Oooh, look, we got you an Epic Pete.” No, you got them a stripped out Hyundai with an imposter badge.
Mesmo não falando inglês eu quero expressar o meu amor pelos camiões americano por ser muito potentes, confortável e bunitoa eu amo os brancos americanos força a América do Norte de africa para vocês americanos brancos❤❤❤❤❤
Looks like junk no way for someone, co-driver to exit the sleeper in an emergency. No way to load/access the sleeper with out climbing over the seats? Why
And all trucks should have a big render on the side for escape purposes. Let's just say you were sleeping for some apart. Reason a fire Just spread to the front of the truck. It's really quick. You should be able to get out easy and this should be standard. In all american trucks, not an upgrade
Missing passenger-side access to under-bunk storage is a big miss - yah need it for those gettin' back to in-front of home stop's, when/if that happens...lol. Reduction of mirror size is just plain ridiculous - do these guys want to lose me to a Kenworth Next Gen? Some doubts are entering my mind about where my bucks are goin'.
I have a 2023 579 Ultra. Getting ready to turn it in and trade it in. The ONLY thing it brings to the table in Utility is the half upper bunk. Im picking up a 2024 Volvo860 which brings MUCH bigger Fridge, dining table with same size bed as the ultraloft. and MUCH more space. Say what you want about Volvo but Ive also have had SOME issues with the Pete and MUCH higher prices to repair. I would keep the Pete but again it really doesnt bring anything unique to the scene. Freight brings a murphy bed, KW brings a Swivel Passenger seat, Mack brings a Murphy bed, Volvo brings a dining table AND HUGE fridge, Pete brings.....its name.
Terrible quality, you can tell it's Daf's second brand (Daf is the first brand within the Paccar group, they develop everything, even the engines are Daf, even the new generation of Cummins was developed jointly with them), the new Daf XG+ looks much higher quality and the interior has impressive finishes and designs.
For the life of me, I have not a clue why they put harnesses in the bunk by the bed. No one should be sleeping while the truck is moving. That is dangerous.
Your turn signal, don't mean a d*** thing where you're in a truck and driving next to somebody people in cars don't acknowledge that. Ready to say four wheelers do not acknowledge that
That’s a super cheap and nasty cab. Garbage, rattling plastics and ugly, flimsy switch gear. Poverty spec machine, would be absolutely disappointed to have spend weeks at a time living in that.
Peterbilt just feels like it's years behind the competition. Absolutely nothing about this truck is revolutionary. And a lot of it feels like cost cutting and lazy design
There's nothing different to this truck. To the 2024 on the 2023, they're all the same. And y'all have a nerve to be calling this truck luxury, where i guess soon from now, to nose. That the trucks won't be pointed And smaller, everything on the truck is gonna be smaller
20 year old Daf interior
Gotta say that one has very scarce specs. No passenger side box door, cloth over cabinets, no apu, no lumbar support seats, no chain box/side set catwalk combo, drum brakes all around. Hmm.
Fleet spec. Nothing fancy.

I will never drive a Pete again. 4 months of lost driving time due to Def issues. I can't afford the lost down time issues in these trucks.
Get with the times Peterbilt and Kenworth need to do a serious revamp incorporate a dinette option on ALL of their sleepers.

Cummins motor for sure!!!!!!!!
Nothing new

It is still a Dinosaur compared to the latest European trucks
The dash looks like a 1990 Scania. Nice big sleeper though, gotta hand it to them.
Who cares about European trucks. They look like a box on wheels.
Why do Europeans talk shit about American trucks? Americans don't even think of European trucks ...
Strange...
@@jermainec2462 I'd rock a cabover with an 80-110" sleeper if someone would sell one, ideally Scania in the usa with that 735hp monster.

Probably more than the standard cheap version that you can get at electronic stores, but nto THAT much more.
Freight liner is pretty awesome
What the cost i like that new truck ❤
how much?
No hood mirrors? Stripped bare bones unit.
@EarlJames-q3cWhy are you gay?
Hood mirrors are a great feature.
It's not a rookie thing, 🙄
No fog or driving lights either.
