This truck is designed not by a trucker. May I also say a small cubby for an electric scooter might be interesting🤔
All Trucks more expensive but the loads paid cheaper !
U ain't lying about that
@Muthatruckernews1 I’m here in DFW area ( Asian trucking from Thailand 🇹🇭) nice to talk to u Alex..been your FC since u r with your International truck till now.)
On point 👉
drivers just don't realize what's coming.
Let me clue you in...
Every input you make as a driver is recorded and documented in the hopes of teaching the autonomous trucks to work without you. Daimler been doing that for years.
Everything is Bluetooth. So the DOT will eventually be able to log into your truck as you drive and verify your log, bols and even your driving history.
Companies will monitor everything you do even more then now. Hard braking, hard cornering, hard acceleration, etc.
And just wait till you see the shop bills for parts, labor and diag time.
Its easier and easier to drive so more rookie drivers can join the industry.
But...
I bet its nice to ride in and its comfortable and quiet.
Maybe you’re just putting a little to much thought into it. Semi trucks have changed and will continue to change just like everything else in the world. It’s call progress and modernization. Semi trucks were not going to be the 1 and only thing in the world that doesn’t change because some don’t like it. Quit looking for deep meanings and learn to to adapt to changes because the world honestly doesn’t care if you don’t. You’ll have your job as a professional driver for quite some time and possibly the rest of your life.
@@Daniel-oy8ic Are you a professional driver?
@@Daniel-oy8ic Progress at the expense of Quality of Life for the working class. Yippee! Can't wait to make half the wages I do now because the truck does half the work! But I'm sure the powers that be will offset this by reducing the cost of living and lowering my taxes, right? ...Right? I mean, they've done such a great job of that so far with the massive increase in automation. 😊
@@georgegeorgepht weirder shit has happened. th-cam.com/video/JJdd8zYVPJw/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
Companies already monitor all aspects of driving. Drivers are held responsible for their driving habits. Punished for any company imposed bad driving habits.
They have inward facing cameras. That monitors their face. Not looking at the road, not looking at the mirrors. Yawning, etc.
They also have realtime access to all systems on that are attached to the computer system. Every manufacturer offers realtime monitoring. Most trucking companies do not participate. Due to the cost.
Of course there is also realtime tracking. Either via the truck computer system, ELD, or both.
All that has been around for many years. Nothing new.
They government would love to have realtime access to ELD logs. The only hindrance, the money to build the facilities, and server system, to do so. It will eventually be that way. Only a matter of money & time.
Many of the brokers require an ELD that allows them to track the loads. Or, installing an app on a phone or tablet.
None of this is new. The only step left. Is FMCSA having realtime access to the ELD logs.
I have a question about the auto brake set.
Can they be over ridden? No way I want my trailer brakes set in freezing temperatures.
@@sherrimcavoy8342 it's the acc part our truck ls do it I drive with cruise on and pedal to the floor then it can't trip the brakes
@@yesidriveyou misunderstood his question….he was thinking in freezing temperatures you only set parking brake of truck but leave trailer brakes out so they don’t get locked up and to answer his question yes you can override trailer brakes when you are parked
Wait until every screen starts dying pixel by pixel and they want $3000 for them to replace.
I’ll sell it once the warranty goes out
A good running truck makes same amount of money
Displays have come a long way and very reliable now. I have two monitors for 6 years now and not a single dead pixel, same w the displays in my German car. Yes, they are expensive than a mirror but you are getting a better view and they're on inside so never be affected by dust dirt snow ice.
Driver needs bigger refrigerator than that
I'm sorry I drive a 2024 Volvo 860 and I still think the interior on the older models is better and why can't we have a visor still it looks like a very nice truck not sure of all the technology in it because we all know it's going to fail at some point and it's going to cost a lot of money to repair great video
Almost made yourself look like a truck driver backing up. 😂
🤣😂🤣😂
That 860 looks nice, but the side monitor i cant trust them. I have been traumatized with technology breaking very often
We greatly appreciate this video Alex thank you
no problem! Just wanted to give you as much information as possible without being bias.
Ishift been smooth for 10 years 😂😂😂😂
I started driving in 1999 begin with a Volvo I always love them and shout out to Volvo on the Excellent improvements, you guys can Sponsor me Anytime
Those hood latch releases on the previous model are terrible. A lot of them broke, forcing you to disengage the latch by hand, on both sides. Hope they fixed that.
I don't want to ever hear nothing about 'distracted driving'
I appreciate you Alex! Thank you for this.
My pleasure!
I like it. Some interesting new features. A few sound great, others IDK. Thank you for the tour!
You bet!
Awesome video. I deliver paint to Volvo Dublin, VA regularly from Front Royal, VA awesome to see you guys at the Dublin plant.
You forgot to show the compartment for your flip flops
He don’t wear flip flops he’s a real trucker
@@kwilliams3161Yeah but what about the others that do it though. They need a place to store them 😆.
@@malikcutchin thank you!
Those mirrors are gonna be recording you for sure
They look wierd I like the conventional
Big companies will definitely find a way to get that speed gov to shut down truck if going flow of traffic instead of speed limit 😂
I want them too. Cars are looking for payday. I had a car in Wisconsin hide in my rear in my blind spot. Then when I was switching lanes he drove up along side and tried to make it look like I ran over him. Camera will slow down insurance rates and protect drivers from the idiot drivers.
They’ll send the video to the insurance companies and then our rates will rise.
I have these mirrors on my 24 Kenworth t680 they not bad when you get use to them I can see better in bad weather with the night vision but we are a small company
The brushed look of the metal accents looks phenomenal. That truck is gorgeous
Price? When is available?
Thank you so much I’m truly grateful. Could you please reach out to Kenworth, Freightliner and Peterbilt and ask if they would let you drive the future next newest Truck coming soon to the market Sir? Thank you I’m truly grateful for your TH-cam channel, thank you so much Sir. 👍👍
Not my cup of coffee will keep my 99 W900
I’m not much of a Volvo fan, but these trucks have come a long way, I’ll give them that credit.
The new parking brake system concerns me
Everything else about the new Volvo looks amazing.
What I'm curious is in the past Volvos would put Cummins engine in them. Will they do that eith their new Volvos?
Volvo engine's are better than Cummins and a lot smoother.
Yes they will
@@francomtz7115 Volvo engine is smooth like DD15 and Paccar MX13 but like all engines will need proper timely maintenance to avoid downtime
@@gabrielf4448 That's exciting
Volvo has been using that style parking brake in their euro FH trucks for over 10 years now I think.
Dash looks like a Mack anthem
It’s basically the same company since Anthem shares almost 70% of their parts
That's because the Volvo dash is junk. Easy to fall apart after many miles 😔
Does it have disc brakes??
Nice! Thanks for showing this awsome truck!
I really like the integration of so many features.
24v system is over-due.
Super Cap starter. Nice, but this is something you can do yourself to any truck for about $800. I wonder what a replacement is going to cost OEM...probably thousands...
A lot of bespoke stuff here, going to be very expensive to replace bespoke parts.
Factory cab cooler is interesting. Still going to put a generator on my truck though, probably an auxiliary cooler as well in case the factory one decides to go out. Again, part and repair cost are a concern, I can fix my own APU system for the most part using off the shelf parts. A bespoke part on a truck is usually hundreds or thousands for a part I can get for $100 bucks off the shelf.
Cost is going to be an issue, we can't have trucks going from 164k back in 2018 to over 200k in such a short time. That far outpaces inflation, though its easier to make a value comparison with the 860s vs a cascadia or some other type of fleet truck....
Just some thought droppings...
Can it be ordered in manual trans
Made that truck into an iPhone hahaha. First raggedy Hub Group container that truck hooks up to those digital mirrors are gone😂😂😂. The truck does look nice👍🏾
Truck is about 200k you’ll never pay it off with today rates 😢
And no freight
Does it still have the VADA system? I drive a VNR daycab now and that system is bad. Way too much beeping driving in traffic.
What happens when the mirror system goes down?
There are still standard mirrors on it
Auto park brake? N'aw. Plenty of weird situations where I need manual control to do the job. No bueno.
Absolutely true!
And it`s so faulty on european volvo trucks!
If wiring shortcuts while driving - good luck is all you have, instead of ANY braking system!
This is The Best reviews on new VNL
I am not a fan of Volvo, but they really outdid their self with this new truck. Its gorgeous. I am so sick of seeing the P4 cascadia they haven’t touched since 2018, 6 years of the same looking truck. Peterbilt refreshed their front end which I love, how many more years are we going to see of the cascadia? I have a 22 cascadia, but the design is growing on me. This new truck is wild
Do Volvo come in solid colors or are they multi color? All the ones I see on the roads everyday they have all different color body parts.
Yes, I know all about this truck. I took a test drive in it because I was in the market to buy a truck. Volvos are very nice and comfortable trucks and I told him if it’s electric don’t even get it out diesel only I don’t know if it’s the same truck you drove but I drove one that had some weird designs on there and I liked it, it was just outside of my price range so I couldn’t get one at this time but it’s a beautiful truck inside and out if you can talk them into selling me one or giving me one old promote it for him. I told him that dude I’ll promoted all day long for.
I am sold to it... well may be not. How many mpg on a 75,000 lbs load.
I am doing 8.5 mpg at 41 cal
Nice tour. That guy couldn’t sell me on anything. Maybe the camera made him nervous. Wish they had a bumpy road section on their track to reflect REALITY. Lol
What year is that?
2025
What’s the price tag on both sleeper trucks
The refrigerator is smaller, but that top bunk feature is nice
You lose the under the bunk storage?
Bro I work at that plant and didn’t even know you came!
Slowly bringing more European tech over
Slowly pulling the trailers closer to the tractors, unlike those idiots with their stretched frame rails, who are throwing money away!
I love Volvo feel like you are driving a cadillac
Yes, i want a Volvo VNL for my first truck as an owner operator.
Im a big fan of the Volvo. Nice truck!
Thank you for the video. Love it!
Would love to see a video of the new International LT with the new S13 scannia engine and the new T14 automated manual transmission.
On the remote control, what other functions besides raise/lower does it have?
This one is the simpler version, in the video it seems to only have adjustment on one axle (there are options to control several axles, which would have M1/M2/M3 buttons for selecting which axle to control). There is a more advanced version with a display that is a true remote without a cord which Volvo calls "Work remote control", not sure if it will be available with the VNL series though.
The remote in the video (pause at around 2:27 to see the remote) has a STOP button to stop regulation of the suspension.
The button with the symbol of a truck in white, will be manual mode, using the arrows to adjust up and down.
Truck symbol in green will return the suspension in driving position.
Arrow buttons to control the suspension up and down.
And lastly the memory button which can be used to store a suspension position and recall it, as well as used in combinations with the arrows for Hold function, which while pressing the arrow and pressing the memory button will keep raising the suspension until it's reached it's max or min position, can be aborted by pressing any other button or the STOP button. Let's you raise or lower it without having to hold down the arrow button.
@@AlexKall thank you
@@7runamuck you're welcome :)
Truly remarkable truck. Gorgeous!
These are for those mega carriers. Advertised as “for no experience drivers who don’t know how to drive!”. This new technology only creates bad drivers who will learn to rely on technology to drive.
Well said
And those millions of sensors will mess up really quickly specially winter time with the freezing temps,so much of electronics will empty your bank account really quickly when your warranty will expire😂😂
@@PapasParentalToolBox yea if you haven’t noticed technology has hit every industry imaginable and makes jobs easier and with less human intervention.
I'm not a Volvo fan but that's impressive.
You should have asked WHY? they made it 3 inches shorter than the previous design. It was 77 inches but now 74.
they made dining table seats a lot smaller than the previous design
they made the fridge waaaay smaller than the previous design
they made the dining table a lot smaller than the previous design
they made the huge storage compartments in sleeper area replaced with smaller ones.
they totally remove the big storages above the driver and passenger side.
I am not saying anything for the cockpit, it looks good but why you made those changes above??
Did these changes reduce the production cost over all?🤔hmm?
Anyone who drives VOLVO 860 will understand my comment…
Good points 👍
Yes I was curious about that as well if anything Volvo should have made a 86-in sleep and as of right now I don't know how I feel about a smaller sleeper I have a 2019 Volvo to 77 in sleeper.
@@movingman07I have a 2016 and after I saw this video I put my baby I the shop for new injectors. I'm just going to keep her, she's paid for. New always looks good but look at things that may rattle and break. That Volvo looks good but how long before those panels on the side start breaking. When I bought my 2016 780 I had to fix the side panels. They lasted 3months.
They did the truck like the food industry. Smaller packages for more money.
Might time to loose some weight?
With it being a 24v electrical system on the truck now. Has anyone thought of the trailer connections. Here in New Zealand we generally run multi volt systems in our trailers 12/24V. Due running a mix of European American and Japanese trucks. But considering everything is American over I'd imagine your trailers will run a standardized 12V system. Not just for lights but for abs/ebs systems as well. To much power tends to fry things. Food for thought
Wow thank you for the ride of the new Volvo truck.
This is THE first video I have ever seen with the CMS being used by a driver. No other channel has done this. I finally have a lot of questions answered. We'll done, Mutha Trucker.
Cool looking truck. If I knew you were going to be at Dublin I'd of stopped in and seen you 😎
Next time!
How motoring public going to see driver if they can’t see him on the mirrors?
Bro why you driving like a rookie 😂😂😂😂good job bro.
hahaha. they told me both hands on the wheel hahaha
Good amenities looks comfortable
Everyone mentions the mirrors like they’re the only option. You can see later in the video the other trucks in the showroom don’t have the monitor mirrors.
I guess it depends how your loads are paying. I could be wrong but loads are not paying enough.
I wonder if you can spec this out with an X15 productivity series.
As somebody whos running a 23 vnl860 right now... I hope they got rid of that annoying stupid right blinker honk when a car is on the side of your cab. I literally cant use my right turn signal appropriately because of that. Not to mention it makes everyone around me think something is wrong anytime it goes off and freaks them out. Its anything but a safe.
Side not...one of my complaints with the current vnl860 is the cabinet layout. This new one is soo much better laid out, very freightliner style. Which is one of the things i like about the Cascadias.
I was thinking after this volvo i have now that i would switch to the Cascadia. Now im not so sure.
Nothing better then 379 CAT 6NZ my opinion
Some people like profits instead of throwing the money out of the stack . It's new times bud I'm out here for profits not look cool. Them days are over fuel isn't .80 cent a gallon anymore

Thank you for that info on the new Volvos this has to be the best video i have watched. I have a 2013 Volvo VNL 670 always have been a Peterbilt fan until I purchased a Volvo I have 1260000 miles on my d13 never anything but overheads and turbo. I had been thinking maybe a new Peterbilt this time until I seen this video it was a game changer it will most likely be another Volvo next time love the mirror cameras nice ideal think I would like them.
does anyone know the mattress size in this beautiful truck??
They’re excellent trucks is most every category. Only downside is cost. I believe $20-25K more than a similar Cascadea. Comfortable ride and cabin
In other words they used the TRW system. And this selective steering has been used on large diesel RVs for years.
I love Volvo already. But this truck is actually 🔥🔥🔥. I might get one 😂.
Me and the wife are supposed to be getting the new VNL 860 can’t wait much better set up it looks
As a Volvo owner forgot to mention I was thinking what is that windshield replacement going to cost every 6 months usually its needed lol.
Awesome video
Glad you enjoyed it
I li me the idea of the mirrors no more worrying if somebody is going to take off your mirrors because they went to cdl school for 2 days But definitely would be worried what all that mirror can see and hear while I’m not driving
Definitely doubling as a driver cam.
Being a Volvo does it come with bunk beds and a pre-cut hole in the floorboards?
The truck is sick, i see lots of stuff from euro volvo like suspension and electronic airbreaks and 24v. If im still owner op and don’t give up in this crazy freight market and rates improve ill get me one, because my 12 volvo is at final years of its life
Hate the mirrors.
I hope they’ll offer a 6x2 with a liftable axle for better economy. If I own one of these, I want it setup for the ultimate efficiency.
379 Pete or W900L Manual still better than that office cubicle on wheels.
Nothing beats a conventional mirror. Other than that. Love the new Volvo
24V system. What about trailer voltage?
I have a PS from my last report I didn’t test drive the automatic I really don’t like them. I had took the standard transmission and I drove that one, but the one I was looking at didn’t have those electric mirrors like you have on yours I told him I just couldn’t afford every bells and whistles well as I said, in the last comment, they are beautiful and smooth riding trucks. I didn’t have that air right adjustable thing on the side either I had to do it from the cab like I say they’re nice..
No thanks, i like my old trucks.
Digital mirrors, how does it work in rain, snow, extreme heat?
What if the screen glitches, short circuits, or the camera fails?
No push air breaks seems like a hazard to me if the electronics fail, is there a fail safe?
The suspension is quite nice when you're constantly dropping and hooking, when the trailer landing gear was lowered too much.
I can't speak for the auto brakes but they are made by Bendix, which make a lot of truck automation products as you know like the kind spot monitor system , so I'd say let your their other products determine your opinion, I'd assume it's not a completely park by wire set up, I'm sure while the wheels are spinning above 1mph it won't allow itself to be locked the same way if it determined a failure in the air or electronics it won't let you pop the brakes, although I can say one of my favorite about them is ths feature to set the brakes if you forget to and then proceed to open the door and step out.
On the other hand I've had experience with the mirror eye system and it's pretty great, it's has a heater on the mirror for rain and snow, and works really well at doing so, you no longer have that problem where your mirror is blocked up by rain because the top of the camera has a big of a lip to it and sorta like a rain x film to prevent its view being blocked. As far as over heating, well it is outside mostly, so as your drive it's naturally gonna stay cooler , sure they also have some form of heat sink to keep the system cool. The perk from what I've been told though is that they are usually warranted through their life time with a promise of 24-48 hour service and maintenance response for repairs, usually the only problems reported have been software related but they are connected to a network and can usually send software right to the camera from their office to fix or diagnose any problems.
I'm no expert on these things so obviously take what I say more as overheard opinion rather then 100% fact and conclude how you must about it.
@AHomeInTrucking sounds good, but one thing, they send software to the camera from their office, there is a privacy contract for those cameras?
For my 24 Kenworth t680 any update we have to go to dealer but everything he said is correct we have two in our fleet and the one I have has no problems but the other had camera issues kept going out to the point where he was driving blind but also we don’t have regular mirrors either so he didn’t like the new mirrors
Sure wasn't that fancy back in 1980, Nice..
nice space inside that 74 sleeper
I don't know. You're looking at about a $6,000 windshield right there. Also, I still see they have not figured out how to handle ice buildup on the windshield wipers and the windscreen. Going to be trouble when winter comes and those cameras ice over for your mirrors.
They said that streamlined windshield alone helps to improve fuel economy by up to 5% so it supposed to pay off for itself pretty quickly
@@Nikowalker007 doesn't matter if you need to replace the windscreen every year. $1000 for glass, $1200 for glass alignment and God knows what those cameras are to calibrate. Your 5% is eaten up in a year driving it.
@@Nikowalker007 As an engineer in automotive industry I can assure you that this is just a lie for fools.

Windshield heater. Illuminates all ice.
Can you get the Cummins engine in one
And the price is???
Close to 200k
I'm pretty sure Volvo knows what they are doing.
All they do is make the truck very very very expensive and hard to repair, to milk owners dry!
Yeah they all automatic. Ewww. Hate that pushing autos. In the city I can understand or short drives. But on long heavy hauls. Eaton fuller 10/13/18 speeds are still king imo.
Hate to say it. As more tech with more auto transmission, more sensor, DEF/emissions control, more digital logs. Some truckers will stay continue to stay with older trucks. It’s also going cost more to fix and repair these more digital trucks. And chances are most them won’t last 1 million miles. Even with proper maintenance. Nothing wrong with better safety features. But not when comes at reliability.
Like these Volvo 2024🎉
thanks for the tour. for me this is not my cup of tea. i think i will stick to my old R model Mack
Delete the emissions system, and this is one comfortable truck to drive
I prefer previous design tho. 2019-2024
I agree
Vulva is the flip flopper fleet special for the automatic restricted, cheap rate freight hauling foreigners...
the video camera mirrors are not a new thing..
Wow, maybe I should have waited 😂. But on the other side, those new features sounds expensive to repair.
