My son played this song on the alter in honor of his father, my husband, after he saw his dad die in my arms in the middle of the night. My son was in 8th grade at the time. We talk and see each other a lot since he only lives 10 minutes away from me. Within the last 18 months, he told me he got his first tattoo. The tattoo is on the inside of his wrist and they are the musical notes to “take these broken wings and learn to fly !!” He is now 31 years old and a music manager and teacher in a private studio and was VERY close to his father. I am sooo proud of him for pulling through the wreckage of his past.

In the mid 1980s. I had the pleasure of being a roadie for 1 event of David Crosby in Fort Lauderdale Florida close to where i grew up. And was attending college the performance was in a bar with a very small stage and Mr Crosby was awesome as hell despite being very much under the influence my payment for working the show was only free admission and drinks from the bar and that was plenty to see such a great musician and performer so close as i was able to sit on a barstool right next to the stage BTW i was asked to hel as i knew a employee of the facility who was in charge of Having a crew of people helping to set up the stage and the equipment for the performance and i have always considered it to be one of the best live performances ive seen in my life

Graham Nash has said that nobody sounded like them when they harmonized. And they sing it as though it was one of their own songs that they have sung so many times that they don't have to think about how they're singing it together; it just seems t happen naturally. Astounding and wonderful to watch. .
Somewhere back in time, these guys sat down with the Grateful Dead and taught them how to do harmonies because they thought it would add a lot to their music. The rest is history.
