I just bought a 2024 Blue Street Bob. Before that I owned a Road King which was way too heavy and hard to control. This Street Bob fits my riding style and control. I too am only 5'7" and I am comfortable riding and controlling this bike. Thanks for indicating more detail that I was not aware of. Great video. Thx
Congratulation bro, nice choice and color !! I'm the owner of XL1200T, It is heavy to maneuver too at 280kg, My wife hate it for the vibration and the engine heat at summer, so stop coming with me. I'm going one day to change it for a lighter bike.
When I test rode a street bob 114 i was surprised to feel how easy it was to ride and how smooth ot was. For those that don't know, it has dual balancing shafts inside the 114.
Perspective... I've set up every bike I've had since the first one pretty much the same. 1978 Kawasaki KZ650. 1973 Kawasaki Z-1. 1982 Suzuki GS850G. They all had a windshield, crash bar with highway pegs, and a sissy bar/luggage rack. Saddlebags were added for rain gear and toolkits. Unless you buy lunch every day, you have to bungee your lunchbox to the bike somehow. Basically, you add the accessories to make the bike work for you. In my case, it was riding to work, and sometimes "work" was 250 miles away. When you have forward controls, there's nowhere for you to move your legs to on a long ride. Mid controls with highway pegs not only lets you move your legs but gives you the ability to stand up to absorb big shocks and to sit on the pillion when you get sore.
Other things to consider: - Low fuel light comes on at 50 miles remaining - Avoid the Aggressor fairing if you're around the 6ft mark, as it'll direct wind straight into your face - In Europe, all 2021 Harley models and newer require a tune on any Stage 1, including slip ons - Switching handlebars could be anywhere between $700 and $1,500 depending on the style and height you want. Similar price for the forward controls too. - If you want a murdered Bob, you'll be looking to change a lot including front fork covers, hand levers, headlight trim, various bolts, front axle covers. It all adds up. Personally I'd recommend the Softail Standard, then just replace old chrome that gets rusty/discoloured with black aftermarket pieces.
I’ve been trynna make sense of why I started with a sporty and am now on a 23 street bob. And when you said these things are kinda impulsive buys it clicked! I couldn’t agree more. I love my street bob currently. Only thing I would’ve done different when I traded my sporty is possibly consider the lowrider st. But here we are, still no complaints 😎
I have a 2021 Bob. Had 5mi when I got it. Has 7584 now. (Make sure to get the tire coverage, 500 a tire it pays for itself because I'm on my 4th rear tire ) Also, you're spot on about the fork seals and the handlebars. Oh and the gas tank 😮. Overall I'm happy with my Girl awesome Power!!
So I'm not the only one to have worked out Harley marketing. Buy a bike that is something like you want. Then swap out a few bits for the look you want. Hey presto....... It's twice the price.
good video man. Have watched a lot of reviews and this one was one of the best. Particularly liked the very honest "think what you want the bike for". cheers
In 2023 I bought a 2022 with 15miles(floor model) sold as Brand New. 3 weeks from buying it Check Engine light came on, it’s been back to the dealer 4 times now. Full stage 2 engine upgrade 2weeks ago also. Now it’s back at the dealership AGAIN for the check engine light. Techs have now reached out to Harley for help. This bike is a great bike, mi e just had an electrical issue.
The biggest draw backs for me are the tank size and the stock seating position. The handlebars are okay but definitely not something to keep long term, the seat is super low, and like most stock Harley’s it sounds like a sewing machine. As soon as I got mine home I moved my shifter peg downward as I had to take my foot off the peg to shift comfortably from the factory. I changed the levers next to something shorter. Then the fuel cap had to be changed to a black cap, Then I put a step up seat and color matched fairing. Mid bend bars and an 8” riser. Then a 2-1 exhaust.
It’s an awesome bike ! I miss mine. Tons of power. I didn’t like the quiet exhaust or the mid controls which I changed to forward. Those were my only complaints.

Great video! I currently own a 2022 Nightster which is a great bike when it runs; however it has has numerous problems in this area. First with the handlebar modules and now an unknown problem. Today while riding to work it died and it will not start. The Dealership is scheduled to pick it up Tuesday and no matter what happens I no longer trust this bike. I need a bike that is reliable and the Nightster is a piece of shit. This bike is one that I am considering. My last bike was a full size Indian. Nice bike but I have grown to like a lighter and more sporty bike. I will miss the water cooled engine and not needing valve adjustments, but this bike I will definitely will be going on a test ride.
Lower the shifter, change the seat , put in a s&s 475 cam it's the perfect cam to pump up the power to give you 120 or more hp and your ready to rock and roll 🧝💃⚡🏴☠️🌴🦄
Great video and great information. Fun to watch. I am looking at buying one. You review is really good. How do you like your windshield ? Does it give you good wind protection? I want a windshield. Keep the good videos coming !
Yeah, the LCD gauge isn't that good in daylight. I think an LED display would have been better. I don't like the handlebars. Great bike though. Hopefully its up to the beating. I gave my 94 lowrider.
Pretty spot on review . I picked up My St., Bob about a month ago. I hate those handlebars. Will be swapping out soon. Have you changed your handlebar set up yet?
First concern for me would be how it feels in traffic. Is the engine braking when you roll the throttle on and off smooth or enough to upset your balance. Seems a common theme to ditch the stock handlebars. Is it just that they look hideous or from a comfort perspective?
@@charlesharper7292I actually went for the lowrider s 117 in the end, so have flatter bars already along with forward controls. I would prefer the bars a bit further back to be honest. Maybe an inch or two and lower about the same. I would also prefer to lose the little fairing around the headlight but suspect there is loads of really ugly stuff hiding behind it.
@@richardlee2488 my last "new" Harley before my FXBBS was a Dyna Lowrider. Love it. Still have it. Over a 100k miles off beating the living crap out of it between Texas and the east coast. Still runs, but it's tired. I think my new Street Bob is afraid of me...
@@charlesharper7292 mmm. Not sure how the new street bob actually rides as I didn't actually test ride. But the lowrider is a beast. I guess your previous was either an Evo or twin cam. Still in the run in miles for my 117 but awestruck when I actually realised that twistgrip just keeps turning more than my wrist. I also have a 2001 honda sp1 in the shed that I bought new and can honestly say, apart from the elbow scraping cornering, the 117 is as much fun. The seat height is relatively low on these and the weight really isn't noticeable. Give yourself a year or two on what you are riding today, and go for it.

Easy things to consider after buying a Harley Davison machine. 1- you got poorer now. 2- you will shop less for the next 4 years. 3- she will spend more time in the garage than on the road. 4- People stare on you, not because of the bike looking crap, they feel sorry for you. 5- you will sell it and buy a better bike finally. 🤣
IMO Street Bob, the way it priced is a worst HD softail value wise. Except if you planning to ride two-up 90% of the time maybe. On average it comes up to about $17K'ish out the door. For this kind of money you can easily pick up 114 Low Rider S with under 2K miles on it. And get upside down fork, dual front brakes, better instruments, better wheels and standard ABS, if I am not mistaken. Or just hold off a bit, and buy 117 Low Rider S at the end of this season. Low Rider S, dollar to dollar is much better value.
Dude, it's obvious you don't like the bike BUT I didn't buy it for 2up, storage, fancy sh*t like a bagger has or going on long trips. I bought it to have fun and romp around a 100 mile area, not riding to Sturgis or Daytona. H8ters just friggin move on and stfu, you don't want one then move along.
