- HOW Can You TRAVEL Long Distance on a Harley Street Bob 114!? Finally taking my Harley Street Bob 114 for a long distance road trip. I will give my thoughts and experience so far on the trip and some tips and tricks to set up for road trips on this motorcycle!

I just rode my Street Bob form Illinois to California and back. Didn’t add any type of windscreen and strapped my ruck to my sissy bar. No complaints, fantastic trip.
I agree it dies a great job
Just added cruise control to my 2022 Street Bob, has made a world of difference in long rides for me.
Yeah I forgot to mention that. That would make a huge difference
Made same thing, it's really a work of difference
What did you use for that?
I assume the plug and play cruise Harley makes ?
I did a Memphis shades road warrior with a 13” windscreen. It has gotten the wind off me pretty much completely. I’m 5’8” on the stock seat.
I also added the handguards and they seem to work in conjunction with the fairing. Way more comfortable. Less human parachute feeling.
I also turned my bars down just a little to reach better.
My biggest gripe has been the mid controls. I have a short torso and long legs. My hips get cramped after a couple hours. I think I’m going to add a crash bar to double as highway pegs, versus mounting forward controls.
Yeah I could see how forwards would help for taller people
At 6 foot 2 inches, the mid controls did not work for me!! My son and I installed the forward control kit!! That makes it so comfortable for this tall guy!! I also installed a wind shield for the long drives and a crash bar for bike protection!! Stay away from gravel ice and snow... Colorado is the place to ride bikes!!!!!!
Nice mods 👌
excellent video, I just put my sissy bar on today. I would love to see a video on the different sissy bar bags you have.
Thanks! I've thought about it making a video on them but they're so old they can't be purchased anywhere lol they're out of business
I honestly love my sporty forty eight. I did 500+ miles the other weekend and i don't even think i want a windshield, i've still been up in the air about it but with rain and everything else it doesn't bother me too much. It was a great ride.
I'm trying to get a route 66 adventure figured out with a few people for next year and it's looking like it's going to take place.
Sounds like a great trip for a 48
I have a 2023 Softail standard so it’s basically the same bike expect it’s a 107. I’ve made several trips from York PA up to Tioga county. I added Viking bags saddlebags, a sissy bar to strap a backpack and the Harley sundowner seat. Overall no real complaints other than the sundowner isn’t great after about 2 hours. No wind protection yet but that’s coming in the future.
Also, are you still running no tune with the cobra neighbor haters? I have the same pipes (no tune) but haven’t done any long distance with them on. Curious as to how you like the pipes over long distance.
Yeah still no tune with them. Held up great on this trip. Bike ran perfect for over 800 miles
@@TheMotoJawnthat’s awesome to hear!
I have the exact same bike and I'm 5'10. I would say being cramped with the mid controls is my biggest pet peave on this bike. Also once you do a full stage 1 you'll lose around 15-20miles on a tank of fuel. The bike runs way smoother and has some more pep though.
Nice I'll probably try stage one someday
I’m 5’3” on a 2014 Street Bob. I did put the Le Pera Kick flip on mine, the mini floor boards, sissy bar with rack, saddle bags and the Harley removable windshield on mine. I also changed out the hand grips and will be adding a 3 1/2 riser for my bars. Keep on riding.
Nice set up
You can travel long distance on a moped. All it takes is dedication... so yeah, your bike should be easy
Great vid man I actually hated that it was over! Thx... another confirmation that this week my choice to pick up a 2023 Street Bob will be the right one!
Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy it you'll love it
Rode mine from east texas to Colorado first trip all stock bike at the time just had a big bag and it wasn't to bad
I've got 3 saddlebags.
Saddleman. Screen.Seat.Hand guards.
Getting a Highway Bar.
Winter in New Zealand.
Nice set up
I’m in jersey. Marlton. Not far from the city at all!
Yooo swing through!
I have a 2022 also but with stage 2 . S&S cam throttle body and trask high flow breather. I was able to push mine up to 170 miles before i filled up. Took 3.3 gallons. Was pretty much on fumes. Needless to say its getting right at 50 miles a gallon with all the upgrades. More power and torque gets it moving easier i guess lol.
For sure I want to do that to mine soon
@TheMotoJawn you won't regret it. It's night and day difference.... plus I just enjoy listening to it sit there and idle with the freedom exhaust.
Can you make a video of your upgrades?
Can’t wait to pick one up. Gonna be a while, just a broke 19 y/o. Maybe it’ll be a Christmas present to myself next year. Wish me luck!
Good luck it's a good one
Everyone raves about the road warrior fairing..I have it(not on atm) but have done every adjustment to it I can and the wind coming up from under the bike drives me crazy and just not happy with it.
What screen do you have on it? I changed to the cafe screen which is more rounded and seems to create more of a bubble of clean air
I dream of riding roads like yours, they look fantastic. On my Street Bob in the UK it feels like we have to stop every mile for something.
Stopping is the worst
I know I'm late . I can't believe they don't make highway pegs . They make crash guards that you can attach pegs. And crash bars but no forward or highway pegs . I've owned 3 Street Bob's before . This is the first one where I couldn't do this. I buy them for the bobber style and like to keep it trimmed down . I guess I'll have to make my own.
Pretty cool that your street bob was probably made in my hometown of York, pa :)
Bemn through there many times
Hey I have a question can you swap tanks on the m8 streetbob. For instance the stock tank is 3.5 gallons but the new st gas tank is 5 gallons can those mate up ?
Yeah I've seen that done by quite a few people
@@TheMotoJawn thank you for the help
I did two iron butts on mine. Had to fill up with gas 12 times with the 3.5gal tank.
Did that make it tough to get in under 24 hours?
@TheMotoJawn it was stressful at late night hours only because not every gas station was open and your trip odometer was creeping towards 100mi!
You can.. I rode mine 3.4.7 hours in a day many times .. windshields a must
What size shade did you put on there? It looks good
That'd the cafe screen for the road warrior fairing
What kind of gloves are you wearing.
You 5’6” tells me those bats got your shoulders on fire 🔥
What make is the bag, please?
Old brand called T-bags. I think they're out of business
@@TheMotoJawn Thanks.
Fun .
Harley nav finds gas stations and dealerships for you.
Who wants to travel on a bike with no audio or navigation? If you lose your phone 📱 you’re screwed
Real bikers don't need navigation. But I suppose weekend warriors do.
