Today I go over some things you should know before you buy a 2024 Harley Davidson Street Bob 114. If you liked the video, please consider subscribing. We'll see y'all in the next video!
I've always bought used bikes but now that I'm getting a bit older I was so excited to get my first new bike 2023 Street Bob I've had it since the beginning of 2023 and don't regret it one bit it's a great bike.
@@DrewB439 hey I appreciate you sir! That means a lot! :) gotta take care of the wife first, and I've been working really hard on getting this channel to take off so thank you very much! ♥️👍🏻
I’m 6’4 260 lbs. this is my first bike. Just bought it Saturday. A few modifications to get it comfortable. But for me, I feel it’s a great first Bike. Sink or swim.
@@dudesavemycarbike has been great for me! Absolutely loving it. I’m curious tho, I’m shifting gears between 2300-2500 RPMs and coasting around 2100 RPMS. What RPMs are you shifting at? You seem experienced and I’d hate to be damaging my bike. I know you mentioned doing 62 in 5th gear. I’ll be doing 62 in 6th gear. Which is also how the manual says to do it. So I’m curious, am I doing it wrong and should I change this before a damage something?
@@elijahalexander3959 these things are built well. As long as youre not holding the motor wide open at like 4k to 4500 rpms you'll be fine haha. Just switch gears at whatever rpms feel comfortable. I also like to cruise around 2k to 2.5k rpms
Congrate bro. Pity for the stupid price. StreetBob was my fist test ride at Harley then I decided to buy XL1200T new for cheap and touring capability. The highway it sit on the 5th gear all day no struggle at 75mph. The breaks on the Streetbob are not existing compared to my sportster. I was shocked. The power delivery is good. Confortable ride and much more stable than a sportster when cornering. The sportster feels like going to go break in half when cornering right and left. The street bob is stable and feels solid.
Congrats, I have an 2018 fxbb with a 114 stage 4. I also thought the rear brake sucked until I put forward controls on. It works great now with the better leverage. Shiny side up.
@@JohnGreen-c4h thanks for the comment man. Stage 4 must rip 😂 I like the way this bike rides right now so I don't want forwards. But I did hear you can adjust the angle of the brake lever to make it feel stronger. Might try that out. Ride safe!
I just picked up a 2022 Street Bob with 1900 miles a week ago. I was looking at new ones but the previous owner had added cruise, forward controls, Arlen Ness air cleaner, Cobra neighbor haters and led turn signals. These were all things I was going to do to a new one if I bought one so for $11,999 I couldn’t pass it up!
@@dudesavemycar i like the forward controls especially for longer rides. I had forwards on 2 different 1200 customs so I’ve gotten used to them before getting the Street Bob. I do still have the stock bars and I’m 5’9”.
The brakes get better after they do a thousand miles less even, also mids make braking harder as your foot pressure is down and being your legs are forward of centre makes this even worse. Forward controls are better for the rear brake and forward controls with a swapped out brake pedal off a breakout or sportglide is even better, allowing full forward pressure as much as you like. Coupled with ABS and you can slam on them as hard as you like. Worth considering Arlen Ness floating 15inch front wave rotor and swapping out the rear for a floater too! EBC HH Sintered pads will make this setup bang on.
Dude first not a crappy video, I bought a used 2021 Softail standard that had 3,000 miles on it and the great thing was the previous owner did nothing to it , so I was getting an untouched bike ready for the mods I wanted to make , sure it was used but looked and rode like a brand new bike.......for thousands less I think it was almost 4,000 less........ Anyway I wanted a street Bob but didn't have the money so I've been turning my standard into a Street Bob by blacking the bike out (totally) and I also got street Bob tank decals from fooqs decals and installed them on the tank and clear coated it to hide the decal edges....... Bike looks exactly like a vivid black street Bob with gloss black parts instead of the black wrinkle parts the street Bob has on it , which is another bonus for me I didn't like the wrinkle finish that the street Bob came with. Thanks so much for the video, nice to hear others opinions......
@@robertmorris4675 the red is such a nice color on these bikes. I'm planning to just black mine out and do red accents! I'm glad you enjoy your street Bob as well!
@@dudesavemycarright, It was looks for me. Low Rider was too sporty. I’m also a man who’s daily driver is a 1984 F-150 so again. To each their own. You cannot beat a classic look.
@elijahalexander3959 I agree. The street Bob keeps an older style look of the Harley's compared to the low rider. Definitely one of the reasons I went with it. That and the price point.

Good choice, I put fwd controls on the first week. Old knees forced me to. Great cruising machine.
