We NEEDED this video Corey!! Thank you. Proven Winners wants you to buy more plants. The plants are good. Mind you, but, they WAY over plant. THANKS AGAIN!❤
Hello Cory, your container all are sooooo beautiful. You are so right about less is more. Proven winner puts, in my opinion a little to many plants. And I love yours more. For one thing, all gardener's can't afford all these plants, just for one container and another thing you just don't need them. Great video.i love how you always explain the growth and all the great information about all that you have planted or are getting ready to plant. ❤❤❤
Corey, I, too am in Michigan. You, the north, me in the south. Love love your videos. Just found you a couple weeks ago. Enjoy every video. I am trying to binge and see them all. Afraid I really missed something if I miss even one. I would love to send you a photo of my GreenStalk that I have mainly done with Proven Winners bubblegum. Had no idea how many to use , so next year I may need less. It is beautiful!I could watch you all day!
Hi Corey i I always love your videos and look forward to them.My goodness I can't believe how beautiful these are what show stoppers! I'm sure glad you are saying that about the pot sizes, yesterday I spent time transplanting a bunch into bigger pots and I will say i have one wave petunia ina 14" and it's almost to big for it but im now experimenting with it.I truly agree with you the pots don't have to be jam packed! love the white and purple and plum colors just beautiful! Thank you again Corey.
I just love watching your videos and walkthroughs. Very informative and thoughtful to educate us on being mindful of the number of plants and the impact it has at the end of the season. I tend to overplant especially with a short season in the northeast I want to have all the colors and textures as long as they last. But as you said less is more!
Hi Corey! I have learned so much from your wonderful videos! Now when I go to the nursery, plants that are new to me feel like old friends. You are a fantastic teacher!
Glad I didn't see this before I came to the shop today! I really would have blown my budget, even more. I love all the plants that we got. The plants that I ordered are stunning. I love Nettas!!!
Enjoy seeing your combinations, and the variety of colors and textures you put together. Also agree with using fewer plants and practicing patience. It’s satisfying to watch them grow.
Just found your channel and am really enjoying it. Wondering if you have suggestions for difficult spaces. My front door faces west and is set back. It’s shaded a lot of the day then becomes a brick oven in the afternoon. So far the only plant I’ve found that can handle it is Swedish Ivy. Thanks
Have you tried interspecific geraniums. Like the Calliope, Caldera, Caliente, Mantra, Mojo, or Moxi? In Michigan, I’ve had good luck in the low light/intense heat spots. You could try euphorbia, sweet potato vine, scaevola or maybe salvia.
I have taken your advice and planted alot less plants in each pot. I have learned so much from you! Thankyou! Do the super cal and the bubblegum color petunias get nice and big right.?
Yes, I’ve planted SuperCals and Supertunias together she they have gotten very large. The Supertunia Vista series get bigger, but they still work when planted together… just realize the Vistas will take up a little more space.
Corey, what's you r opinion -- I am wanting to do a hanging basket or 18" planter of three calibrachoas colors (bright bold purple, bright bold hot pink, and orange/coral). Assuming they are from the same series or have the same habit, is there a best way to get the colors to blend well (so all three colors are all over the pot and not separate with one color per side)? In other words, will the colors intermix better if I put all three colors together in the center of the pot, or if I spread them all out at the outer edge of the pot, or it doesn't make a difference? Thank you 😄👋
I’d plant two of each color close to the center of the 18” container (alternating the colors). As they grow, keep an eye on the branches and train them to overlap. If the plants are large when you buy them, trim them back. Hope those tips help.
We sell them to customers of my family greenhouse in Posen, Michigan (the info is in our bio). These were either spring presales or containers I planted for videos recently.
I agree with using fewer plants than recipe suggests; your video helps us visualize that. How many vermillionaire (sp?) were in that pot? I’m using it this weekend.
This type of video is so helpful to us all. Please show us the same PW suggestions and the REAL pots you planted, through the summer. I have had to remove plants or throw the entire arrangement out by mid summer to mid August some years as the pots looked a mess. Yes I pruned, watered and fed on schedule. I have skipped to using small shrubs in many pots and planting them in the garden in the Fall.
They are crazy big and vigorous! I bought a distressed one with two stems on clearance, then broke one in transport. Since it hadn’t completely snapped off, I scotch taped together (couldn’t hurt to try). That plant didn’t miss a beat and quickly reached about four feet.
Hello neighbor lol saying high from NW Ohio 😊 just planted my plants in my three window boxes . My one box is going to be for strawberries 🍓 Box 1 ii use a Dracaena sanderiana as my center piece Normally i use petunias but i had a spidermite problem so i decided to try a different plant calibrachoa "ALOHA KONO" Box 2 I chose verbena "Cadet Upright" love the purple with the little bit of white. My center plant the same . Cant wait to see whatbthey look like once they establish themselves 😊

The proven winners recipes are crazy with the number of plants they call for!

Would LOVE to set the GreenStalk pic… there’s an email address in the channel description.
Love the “ eat each other alive “ phrase…that says it all regarding over planting! Great progress report! 🇨🇦👏🇨🇦
Love those magenta salvia. You do a great job with your videos. Quick, with all plants identified. So inspiring!
Oh my gosh! Those are beautiful! You ARE an artist Sir❤

What a great video, and so informative! Looking forward to seeing how these containers look a few weeks from now. Cheers to great work!
Wow...love your pots and love the Rockin series Salvia

Great info, Corey. 👍👍👍
Honeybees is so magnificent!!! 😍😍😍 I may have to plant this next year for my front door. So welcoming and bright! Just breathtaking!
Let me tell you, it’s one of the brightest combos we’ve got - so much color!

@@UpNorthGardenMI thanks! I like geraniums and will be on the lookout for those.
Absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for sharing your amazing talents! Any shade-loving container ideas? Our house faces north. 😎
Take a look at my videos from the last month. Did a whole one on shade.
midnight parade is gorgeous! have to make a note of that for next season
I just love your videos! I’ve learned so much from your practicality and real world explanations! New fan here in KY!
Where can one buy the angel dance bi color angelonia,, it’s gorgeous! it’s I’m a little confused as to whether it’s a proven winners or not
It’s not a Proven Winners plant. It might be a little harder to find, but it is a beauty.

Love your containers where can you buy them or do you sell them thank you love your videos
We sell them to customers of my family greenhouse in Posen, Michigan (the info is in our bio).

I love the euphorbia--Ive never used that one! Does it do well in hot sun?
It’s listed as heat and drought tolerant 👍
I agree with using fewer plants than recipe suggests; your video helps us visualize that. How many vermillionaire (sp?) were in that pot? I’m using it this weekend.
Just one. They will get HUGE if you give them the room and consistently watered.
@@UpNorthGardenMI perfect, thanks!
@@UpNorthGardenMI , thanks, I missed the Hummingbird Favorites video, but watched this morning. Amazing growth in a larger pot!
I can’t find vermillion this year. Mid Michigan
@@janeenclark8728 I live north of Traverse City, but found it at Schwartz’s Greenhouse in Romulus, when visiting family downstate.
Why are plans spike always burnt at the tips?
The only time I’ve noticed that on any of mine was if they were seriously under watered. Not sure that’s what is happening with the ones you’ve seen.
@@UpNorthGardenMI No, just at different greenhouses when looking to purchase.

I am in zone 5 b and find that the Cuphea when planted in the garden, do not fill out and get bushy, until late August🫤
My Rockin’ the Blues Salvia got enormous and took over my planter!! I would plant it alone next time!!
That one can be enormous!
They are crazy big and vigorous! I bought a distressed one with two stems on clearance, then broke one in transport. Since it hadn’t completely snapped off, I scotch taped together (couldn’t hurt to try). That plant didn’t miss a beat and quickly reached about four feet.

I had to stop buying annual Proven Winners. They are too expensive in our area. I’ll still buy their perennials.
Thank you for using non-pw plants. I am getting so tired of PW. And they are so expensive compared to other growers.
They are expensive. I don't buy from them unless it's landed on the sale rack.
I think I might have to separate some petunia plants 🙃😭😂.
Never saw the thrillers on the side.
