I visited Perth, WA, in the 80's. I had a lovely time, and met the most awesome people. Saw Crocodile Dundee there, and couldn't wait to get back home (to the States) to tell everyone about it. When I got home, it was all over American theater screens.

As someone who has spent a lot of time in west-Australia, that “why can’t we merge” part absolutely got me. I’d also add the quote of every single person from Perth: Yeah, it’s not too far, just 45 minutes down the freeway.” I also love how there’s always three different ways to get everywhere in perth, and my family always argue about which way to go, and they all take the exact same amount of time.

One thing I'd have maybe also brought up is that Transperth used to have hydrogen buses from 2000 - 2007, a technology we quickly tried to ignore and one we should have tried adopting for our fleet of road trains. Imagine if for the last 20 years we'd been working towards the goal of being able to drive from Perth to Exmouth without diesel emissions.

I've done a 5 month roadtrip around Australia 2/3 years ago, and WA was by far my favourite state. The wildness and the landscape is incredible, and I absolutely loved the ningaloo reef. Its a shame this is allowed to continue...

Another great video. As someone who worked on the Burrup Rankin platform when it started, there is a need for more of this to be brought to the publics attention.
While walking on the local oval the other evening, at start of winter, my friend and I could smell sulfur and realised that fertiliser had been distributed all over the grounds where a soccer carnival was taking place. When we told the parents, they just looked wide eyed, and continued being mesmerised by the game - brought to the public attention of parents and nothing.
