Those Titan Wood Post Anchors are super snazzy! They look quick and easy to install. I can't imagine a more solid anchoring option for such an awesome structure!
The western red cedar is very nice! It looks great and will last a long time. The roof panels are too simple! lol…. That’s a great idea and super easy to install. Thanks for sharing this one April! Keep on building!
I installed similar polys on my porch a few years back and purchased them through an orange big box store. I will say that after a few years they have been scuffed up and don't have that glassy look to them anymore. I live in a northern region with high snow payloads with pines, maples, oaks, and the roof has handled multiple branch drops in high winds and carrying a foot of snow. I also have the smoke color to block UV during the summer or peak sunshine times on the roof. I will say that being under it during that time can be very hot. I have though about installing a retractable curtain that is attached to the underside of the rafters that can be drawn to block heat during peak sunshine times. Great video!
You have a way of finding interesting products to use April! I like how these roofing panels are molded to fit 2x4’s. Which gives a great view of the sky when you look up through the panels. I have never seen panels like this before. They are so cool! 😃👏👍
Random side point but the great thing about these projects as well is you get a good work out. I have a fitness ring and just digging a couple holes, filling with cement and installing posts for signs burnt 500 calories. And these kinds of projects are a lot more fun then just getting on a treadmill for a while. Anyway thanks for another great video.
Yup, April makes it look easy. 👍 0:29 We remember that project. Every line on the fence and roof was laser perfect. Contractors were making videos on it.
The ledger board is mounted on top of the door frame/trim? Even if putting it higher wasn't an option to avoid collision with the roof, that doesn't look right.
@AprilWilkerson thanks for the lesson. It looks good! My husband and I have a disagreement about what type of roofing to use. Perhaps you can help me. A few years ago, he built me a private tanning area on our deck. (The sun helps take pain away from my health issues. Besides...nobody needs to see this pasty woman...lol). Since then he invested in an inflatable hot tub for us. Unfortunately, we get alot of snow in the winter. So he built a large wooden frame that throws shadows as the sun moves around. (I wanted a simpler design that was just as strong but he didn't listen). Yes I want/need the hot tub and yes I don't want snow on it. However...he wants to cover it with polycarbonate panels which are uva/uvb protected. That defeats the whole purpose of a tanning deck! Are there any clear panels strong enough for 2-3 feet of snow (supported by wood) that are NOT going to block uva/uvb rays?
I've been watching your channel since day ONE and look for a new post each day. Curious question on this build. Why didn't you extend the porch roof to the ends of the porch or building? Since we have lots of rain in the PNW (Seattle) I would have covered the whole porch, or might have extended to roof line. Or ar least I 'think' I would. See ya next time!
Most important.....it MUST be cute! 🤣 Never heard of EZ Glaze before so thanks for spotlighting it. Will have to check it out. Looks super easy to work with. Your porch turned out awesome!
I'm curious how much 'forgiveness' the EZ Glaze panel's overlap has for the 24" centers being a tad off? 1/8" short across all 14 rafters and the last one could be off by the full width of a 2x4.
hey April question what is the point of that tape underneath that roofing panel? is it acting as a waterproof barrier after you put the screws in? does it just prevent the product from rubbing on the 2x4 and making noise. when I built my 16 by 10 shed I truly thought about putting this kind of paneling on the roof instead of a traditional roof to let lots of light in and would be way cheaper.
I love the look, but it does seem like the panels sag in the middle, especially at the end. It even looks like it's already doing that in this video. I'm curious to see how this holds up.
I have a garage with that type of porch, only it is tied into the roof. The concrete floor is 4 inches, with 6 inches under the roof supports. The angle is not deep enough in my climate to shed either rain or snow - and the resulting lack of water shedding speed makes the water back up into the garage wall structure, and also causes ice dams. There is a heavy snow load where I live. I've had to have the Amish place 4x6 bracing every 10 feet so the roof doesn't collapse. They also had to install flashing to stop the water backwash, the flashing is 4 feet wide, extending up under my sheet metal roofing by 3 feet, with 1 foot under the porch roof. The roof is 10 feet wide, including 2 foot overhangs, and extends along the entire side of the garage. That means that 4x6 bracing was installed on both the outside edge and the edge along the building. This is not including the original porch supports, which were definitely not enough to support what they were supposed to. Please plan for record bad weather before you follow a great idea you saw online.
I've used another similar product on a carport and it was actually noticeably cooler underneath. It cuts the UV out considerably. This porch will not be sat under but merely to keep weather off as people come and go. Thanks for watching.
That product is floppy garbage. I use a polycarbonate cell product that does not sag. With no structural support or internal integrity that cover will look terrible in a few years.
We'll see. I'll keep an eye on it and if an issue arises I'll take care of it. I've had other products similar and they've held up great even years later. Thanks for watching.
I could replay this forever, it’s captivating.
She's flawless, absolutely a work of art.
Yeah the project and April are a work of art
Those Titan Wood Post Anchors are super snazzy! They look quick and easy to install. I can't imagine a more solid anchoring option for such an awesome structure!
I agree! They’re great for a secure build. Thanks for watching!
April - building an empire, one project at a time. Well done.
:) Thanks! And thanks for staying along for the ride.

Yes, the cedar is gorgeous and the panels were a breeze to install! Thanks for watching!
Good afternoon, April! This looks great! Love the cedar! ANOTHER job well done. Have a great week ahead. God bless.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching.

Great job! Only a matter of time before a truck wallops the edges. Looking forward to next project.

Yes! The panels are a game changer. I'm glad you found it interesting. Thanks for watching.
That’s a great look right there! April you guys never disappoint. Keep up the great work. Thanks! 👍🏾💯
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
Great video! Amazing timing- I was looking for replacements for my old aluminum panels and wanted a better solution. Thanks for the suggestion!
Thanks! I'm glad you found it helpful. Thanks for watching.
Did you guys run the ledger board over the proud door trim? 🤔 I guess it doesn't matter on something like this
heck yeah that is a game changer on the front of the building love the cedar posts have a great week be safe 💕
Great! I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching.
Clear panels are nice. Doing bifacial panels for local solar needs is wonderful too.
Looking good around there April, it's getting closer to being ready. Best of luck with this venture too. Stay safe and keep up the great videos. Fred.
Yes, it’s coming along well, Fred! Thank you for the support.
Always learn new things watching this channel. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for watching and I'm glad you're learning and finding them useful. Thanks for watching.

Awesome! Thanks for Sharing that and for watching.
🤗GREAT PROJECT APRIL, AND I LOVE ❤️ THE RED CEDAR AND THE CLEAR ROOF 😎💚💚💚
Yes, I love the look! Thanks for watching.
Thanks, I’d actually spotted these on the market recently. It’s good to have your recommendation for them.
Yes, I love passing along information, which is why I show what I used and explain why. I'm glad you found it useful. Thanks for watching.
Wow the easy glaze look great if used as a base for solar bi facial panels roof mount
OMG I watch the old video thousands of times and I like a lot.
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
Nice looking porch... thanks for the tips
Thanks for watching and I'm glad you found the tips helpful!
Very Nice ! Sometimes I like to Richy Dryfit things before nailing 😊
Awesome work April! 😃👍🏼👊🏼
Thank you so much! I just love it. Thanks for always watching and supporting.
Very cool. Great video as always.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching.
I wonder how well that Romeo-November pour concrete will hold up to wind uplift pressure from the porch being screwed into it?
Wow. You make it look so easy. Great job. That cedar wood is beautiful.❤❤❤
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching.
Great build you could power the building with solar panels with all that roof space 😊
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching.
The red cedar really makes this porch POP! 🤩 What color are you planning on painting this building April? 🤔
The ledger board is mounted on top of the door frame/trim? Even if putting it higher wasn't an option to avoid collision with the roof, that doesn't look right.
Nice job, Jack, RI, USA
Great job April! Thanks for sharing the video with us!💖👍😎JP
Thanks! I'm glad you liked the video. Thanks for watching.
@@AprilWilkerson Your very welcome April! Have a fantastic week!😎

Wow! Never knew there was such a thing as clear roofing like that. Thanks April 👍
Yes, I love them! They look amazing and make for a bright porch. Thanks for watching.
Good one April. Always interesting to watch you do your projects.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
I love this! ❤️
Thanks! Yes, was easy to do also. Thanks for watching.
Thanks April 👷🏼♀️🪛🔨🔩🔧🪚🏠
looks great!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
All the dry pour haters are crying as she secures the posts the the concrete without them “pulverizing”! #teamdrypour
Looks great and simple to install! Have a wonderful weekend 🙏
Thanks for watching, and you too!
Most important.....it MUST be cute! 🤣 Never heard of EZ Glaze before so thanks for spotlighting it. Will have to check it out. Looks super easy to work with. Your porch turned out awesome!
Yes, I'm very happy with the finished look of the porch! It's functional, but also pretty! Thanks for watching.

Will the building be painted a dark gray? That would look great
Great job! Can't wait to see more about the RV park. Good luck with it.
Thanks! Yes, it's very exciting. Stay tuned and thanks for watching.

Is the porch roof sloped so that rain and snow could slide down, if so what is the slope? maybe I missed how you measured the slope
No birdsmouth cut in the rafter tail?
You're Amazing April.. ';-) Thanks
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching.

I made a bird feeder out of cedar one time maybe it's because of the seed the squirrels really love Eating the cedar good luck
❤ Atta Girl!
What is that bldg going to be used for?
It is for 3 Public Showers, a Public Restroom and on the other side a laundry facility and storage for lawncare items. Thanks for watching.
Thumbs up
👍
what's your RV called again ? ....
It's Pierced Oak RV Park in Canyon Lake, TX. Hope you'll visit, spread the word. :) Thanks for watching.
No harm is done to the tailgate. If you have a tailgate with no dents or dings, you have a show truck, not a work truck.
You don't "pre-drill" a hole, you just drill it
It's referred to as pre-drilled as that's where the actual screw will eventually go. Thanks for watching.
I’m a fan of April, but I am NOT a fan of the roof. Texas summer sun is going to turn that entry porch into a sauna.
I've used another similar product on a carport and it was actually noticeably cooler underneath. It cuts the UV out considerably. This porch will not be sat under but merely to keep weather off as people come and go. Thanks for watching.
Who can smell the cedar?
Yes, I love the smell of cedar! Thanks for watching.
dry pour concrete... never use it... never
Keep crying. If it was so bad she wouldn’t have even been able to drill into it without it crumbling

You are amazing. Where is your video trying to teach a process?
