The Akrapovic is horribly overpriced but it looks great and sounds even better. When you hear it you want it. Hi Andy, had the 2016 one brand new, spent 2 years going back to the dealers with electrical faults, then 3 years with no faults until the indicator switch fell off. Over 120mph the air box used to wail like a demon (on the autobahn) and it needed the touring screen. The cost now is eye watering, I have heard that the MPG on the V4 isn’t great. Enjoyed the video Andy.
I test rode one of these last year in red just as a chance to nothing and absolutely loved it. So easy to ride and very comfortable. I'd have one but I'm 20k short 😢, I know what you mean about how it makes you feel. The closest I could get at a more reasonable price was my current MT10
Great review, as always. I would imagine the rear lights would get pretty cruddy after the ride in the weather you had. Always a problem with the lack of rear wheel covering.
The first thing that comes to mind Andy is that this Black beauty reminds me of the Triumph Rocket, this is a Beast! But having watched the video it does look & sound superb, hopefully the next time you get to ride this beauty it will be much better drier weather, great video as always Andy, thanks 🙏

As always an honest review. Just one little point, adjusting suspension preload doesn’t make it any softer or harder, that’s what your compression and rebound does.
Of all the bikes you’ve reviewed, this one to me, is a must see in person work of art. Simply stunning. No question as red is the only way to go. Yes I will be purchasing a lottery ticket today and 🙏-ing.
These definitely grew on me more with this generation. I never cared for them in the past because I didn’t understand why you’d take a Diavel over a Monster and when they branded the X Diavel as a muscle cruiser I was a Harley guy at the time and saw it as a naked bike with terrible ergonomics. I think these are really cool, but still a niche bike when the Monster’s and Streetfighter’s are so great and really cover a wide price range. If it was closer to the Streetfighter V2 price I think it would stand out more, but it’s V4S price and that is motorcycle perfection. I’d rather take the perfection when spending that much money
Interesting bike the Diavel. When the original came out i went to a Ducati dealer (who shall remain nameless) and was allowed to test ride literally every other model Ducati made, but not the Diavel. They said "if you like the bike you will just buy it, no test rides". so no I never bought one, never went thru that dealers door ever again, and now never will buy a Diavel as i've moved on to other styles if bike. Thanks for the review 👍
What an epic bike. Needs a front mudguard extender and a butler to keep it clean for you. turning on a gravel road would an experience. It’s like the advert for a certain car needs a bigger garage.
Muscle cruiser is definitely a category. There was an article that actually compares the 16 fastest muscle cruisers. Other bikes in the category are the Harley VRod, Honda Valkyrie, Yamaha VMax, etc. I had a 2014 Valkyrie that I believe came in 3rd.
Thank you for posting. If you have a future of this bike you might want to mention the trick peds for the pillion. Beautiful bike, and definitely comes with a Ducati price. ;)
I wanted to love this bike, went to see one at my dealer, fully expecting to put a deposit on it.... I've always been a big touring bike fan, but I have to admit this is a beautiful looking bike and if I had the money and more garage space, I would definitely like a red one in the stable. I think the visuals from every angle are great, and with respect, I think the mirrors work on this bike. Oh, and yes, how could anyone say anything negative about that beautiful exhaust. You video and audio is very good, but I would've liked to have heard more engine sound.
@@TheMissendenFlyer you are usually so laid back..this one was great but quick in it's energy..like you remembered you'd left the kettle on ..haha thanks Buddy
Great initial review of a stunning bike, I thought it looked very stealthy in black. I felt a bit sorry for the Merc driver having the Devil riding behind for so long.
I have an identical one as to the one you have tested. I feel the comfort seat option may be viable option which I will get. Luckily in summer in the South Island of New Zealand, so intend to get a few trips on it. Amongst the bikes I own I consider with the optional touring pack options coming I will be able to take it on the odd tour. I tour mainly on my 2017 BMW R1200R which I find a great touring option as I do prefer naked bikes.
Been waiting for your opinion on it. Great video. I really can't wait to see what you think of this in terms of 'living with it'. Will you be covering predicted residuals and what you think a Diavel S might have? The lack of an easy aftermarket exhaust for this is a bit sad due to the design.
I have to say Andy, I'm not a fan of naked/super naked bikes, but there are 2 bikes that I break the rule. The Ducati Diavel V4 and the KTM Super Duke range. The Diavel V4 is a cool masculine machine that if you pull up to a coffee shop, everyone will stand around it admiring its beauty. I really hope you get to ride it more before it goes back to the dealership
Shame not better weather and roads for your review, just finished running in my red one, what a bike!! Love the engine and handling, thinking of the full exhaust system which sounds mental!!! Bit pricy tho... great vid..
That's a gorgeous motorcycle. On the top of my dream list, now being challenged by the 2024 BMW R1300GS (Black Ed.)... Only if the kids were not in college (or Lottery finally arrived)... 😁 Note: 100% agree about "feet forward cruisers". I know cruiser lovers put a premium on that (comfort I believe they say) but I feel vulnerable and with less control, especially if some unexpected road conditions come my way. Never liked it!
A beautiful bike. If I could afford 4 or 5 bikes, I'd want one to fill in for ripping around, but since I can't afford it, I'd go for a more all-around bike.
Absolute beast of an engine in this bike, the cruiser tag doesn't quite fit in my mind. It reminds me of the Yamaha V Max which seems ahead of its time.
Agree the front indicators would look brilliant as the air intakes. I have reservations about the rear light if a tall vehicle is behind you can they see it? For me the main issue is the bike has no category. If you want a comfy bike you get a tourer or sports tourer. If you want a sports bike you buy a sports bike.. this and the rocket 3 both live in a category I call willy waving. Obviously expensive as well
What a lovely looking lump of machinery. Never thought I'd ever say that a Ducati looks great in any colour than red, but that one certainly does. As for the tft, as small as it looks, I actually think it suits the view forward. Any bigger and it could spoil the flow of the cockpit area. I wondered if the mirrors could be made a bit larger, and intergrade the indicators into them, taking away the hideous looking ones on it.
It looks totally over the top and impractical and it’s expensive to boot. I love it!
I thinkthat's the whole point of it!

First time you've never said stick around stay tuned at the start 💯💯
I’m sure it’s not the first time….
Great review of an awesome bike shame you couldn't have it when the weather was warmer! The joys of biking in Blighty i guess.🤣
Yes I’m afraid so!
Excellent review. Really enjoyed it . 👍
Much appreciated!
What a lovely looking and lovely sounding bike!
Isn't it just!
Fair enough!
Great bike - Great review 🏍👍
Thanks! 👍
Great review. What a stunning machine! Way out of my league price wise but I would love to have one.
Yes it’s a cool bit of kit!
Were you making a casserole Andy..great video with a pace .thanks
I’m not sure I follow Francis? Can you elaborate?
@@TheMissendenFlyer you are usually so laid back..this one was great but quick in it's energy..like you remembered you'd left the kettle on ..haha thanks Buddy
Oh I see!! I was probably racing the rain!!
Love seeing Risborough, Cop hill 😎🇨🇦good vid like that bike.
Great initial review of a stunning bike, I thought it looked very stealthy in black. I felt a bit sorry for the Merc driver having the Devil riding behind for so long.
Never feel sorry for Mercedes drivers.....
Wow - what a place to ride!
Yes I have - one more video coming soon!
Shame not better weather and roads for your review, just finished running in my red one, what a bike!! Love the engine and handling, thinking of the full exhaust system which sounds mental!!! Bit pricy tho... great vid..
Thanks for watching and roll on summer!
Nice bike ! It looks like a lot of fun
It is!
I wonder if it has an option rack for a top box if you want to go to the market to get groceries.
U can change engine & suspension characteristics within each mode
That's a gorgeous motorcycle. On the top of my dream list, now being challenged by the 2024 BMW R1300GS (Black Ed.)... Only if the kids were not in college (or Lottery finally arrived)... 😁 Note: 100% agree about "feet forward cruisers". I know cruiser lovers put a premium on that (comfort I believe they say) but I feel vulnerable and with less control, especially if some unexpected road conditions come my way. Never liked it!
Brian the snail… still cracks me up.
A beautiful bike. If I could afford 4 or 5 bikes, I'd want one to fill in for ripping around, but since I can't afford it, I'd go for a more all-around bike.
Hope you can ride that again, a longer review would be great.
I did manage to get out on it again - another video coming soon!
@@TheMissendenFlyer Cool
Blimey don’t know what camera settings you had but the scenery was flying past when you opened it up. 😂
Beautiful bike. Love the Diavel!
Me too!
Whoa there Tiger - all that torque going down is leaving sink-holes around Missenden!
: )
Whoops!
Obviously expensive as well
Nice video, love those roads. Funny how the speedo become unreadable when you pin it…
What a lovely looking lump of machinery.
Yes I think that would be a good move - although I liked the front “shoulder” mounted indicators on the previous model tbh…
I know you do a lot of hours, but you have a great job!
Yes I do!
Has the weight of the Diavel caused those sinkholes?
Yes, perhaps that’s it!😜
