I bought one a few weeks ago, black as well. I ride it all day long without any problems on the buttocks or elsewhere (6ft 3,5 inch). I do recommend the comfort seat: it is softer, and makes for a beter seating position. And yes, I would love a more extended evaluation of this Italian beauty by the both of you later on. I'll definitely tune in!

I do enjoy hearing modern classic riders give their take on these extreme bikes. I can’t relate to guys who only ride these super fast bikes but I am curious about them so thank you for this!
I bought one about 4 months ago and love it. Even toured on it in New Zealand. I have 3 other bikes of differing categories but always gravitate to the Ducati.
Good review, and will like to see more. It’s an amazing bike, very fast and fun. It surprises in the twisties, and you always feel in control of the bike. From a power cruiser perspective, it has no rival. I am a happy owner of s V2 Diavel
I’ve had the Xdiavel since 2017. Comfort seat, heated grips, screen and luggage rack for touring. 156 BHP & 135nm ( it’s a twin so the torque is all down low with its max torque at 5000 rpm). It’s a great touring bike and an easy everyday ride. It never disappoints. With a bit of customising the V4 diavel could equally be a very versatile machine.
Kudos to Ducati for bringing the Diavel V4 to market. Clearly, it's aimed at fairly limited market - you have to be somewhat of an extrovert nutcase to want this bike. Plus, it's almost US$27,000 in the USA. But I'm really happy to see it out there for those lucky folks.
I bought a red one a year ago and have done over 8,500 miles on her with no issues either mechanically or physically for me! I’m 6’1” and have loved it. Toured northern France last year and have just come back from touring Belgium. Have put a clear clutch cover on her, as all Ducati’s should have!
LOVE the Diavel, amazing bike! I personally would go for the previous gen or 1st gen with the L Twin but I love how they've retained the grunt while also going V4. XDiavel might be my favorite but I loved riding the first gen. Such a compentant machine and so much fun in the twistys while also a comfortable ride while cruising
Father son combo is very nice indeed. Beautiful bike sort of reminds me of my bike. CB1000R. 20 less horsepower, both single sided swinging arm. Both black 😊
I've owned a Mk1 Diavel for almost eight years. It is an absolute beast and unleashes incredible amounts of torque and power right from the very lowest of revs. It really is the beast of a bike. Raw, untamed power! I love riding it.
This is a wonderful bike and one that I considered purchasing. The problem is the initial cost, insurance and maintenance. I used to own a Ducati Monster 696 and I loved the bike but the ownership cost was cost prohibitive. If money was no object and I had a local dealership I would definitely own one. I will stay with my 2023 Harley Davidson Street Bob.
Excellent review. I'd love to see a comparison between this and the BMW r1250r, seems like they are targeting similar riders who want a mix between cruiser and naked, with gobs of torque.
Good to see more Italian bikes on the channel. Given how much you enjoyed the Guzzi V7, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the V100 Mandello (S version if you can get one).
The muddy water splashes present in those close-up shots revealed how useless the rear mudguard design is and that the rear light assembly would be an absolute nightmare to clean!
I really like it. Ductai describes it as a "sport tourer" but the problem is that it has 0 carrying capacity. They should have made the tail differently to be able to load some bags.
Finally, Ducati V-max, the solution to a problem nobody had. Looks like a 21st century motorcycle, for better and for worse. This is one spicy Italian lady, that won't break your heart, but sure to do some damage to your wallet. All-around high maintenance machine, with the famous Italian reliability and resale value of an electric Chinese. Would love to ride one, but not to own one. Thank God for people thinking with... you know. They keep these machines coming up and Ducati alive.
Great bike and looks good, but the Diavel 1260 looks better overall. The way the vents droop downwards like a weird bent horn, and the little boomerang shape faring piece under the vents really pales in comparison to the blade like, jagged edge pieces with integrated turn signals on the front of the 1260. Everything on the front of the V4 looks bulbous, bubbly, including the headlight which looks kind of inflated and melted compared to the 1260. The rest of the V4 looks stunning through. The Tank, the seat and rear looks amazing. The engine to exhaunts, and rear suspension are great. The handlebars and big screen are awesome. The taillight is STUNNING! I just really take issue with that front. The special Bentley version they announced actually fixes all of these problems and makes it look a bit more aggressive like the 1260 so I wonder if they all knew this was an issue. Reply
Hahaha 😂, I love the reviews you guys make and I agree on almost everything, except that I prefer the bikes as quiet as possible! I’m probably just tired of the surrounding buzz all day! 😊
Good review 👍. When you were in Wales, i always preferred your dad's reviews, but since you've largely taken over the channel, and moved away, your presentation has come on massively. (That may sound like a back handed compliment, but its not meant to be). I hope you get to 100k by your birthday, you deserve success.
I bought one for this season, added the Ackrapovik exhaust with factory tune right away. Thing is awesome. I had a Thruxton RS with some sort of bagger (BMW R-18B last year, season before an Indian Challenger) the last two seasons, and this seems like a perfect single bike that replaces both. Loved the Thruxton but the riding position did wear you out, this is much more comfortable and stupid fast. The cruise is good, bluetooth functionality is nice, and sounds amazing with the exhaust.
A mate has a V twin Diavel, an early one with chain drive. Nice and low seating like this bike but I'd prefer the Streetfighter V4 for its lighter weight and sensible width back tyre. The additional 30 or so BHP is an irrelevance really.
Touring mode has no fewer HP than sports mode. My Monster 1200s is the same. But I gather that the throttle response difference between the 2 modes is greater on the Diavel than on the Monster
Another great video Darcy. Not the bike for me but I appreciate it all the same. Also some great footage of you riding up Edgehill to Upton Hosue and past The Castle pub in Edgehill Village. Never noticed the rear shock looks like it is directly up your arse! I so wanted to buy an x diavel 1260. Was ok but was in the upper rev range and felt gutless down low. No torque. That V4 has made Ducati’s a bit thirsty on the fuel. Amazing the old V2 was much better. Looks like easier reach to the bars than the 1260 and nicer looking tank. I did toyed over the 1260 once but I prefer my Multistrada - a more useful bike and just as quick.
