I bought one of these a week ago, when I went into my local store to buy a $400 Beretta 84 clone as a "truck gun." & I was like, "Oh is that an AUG? I'll take it!"
Would highly recommend the Corvus Defensio charging handle and brass deflector as well as the Arid Concepts trigger/safety combo. It's a night and day difference IMO.
I remember in the year 91, when I traveled to Austria and saw that weapon in a policeman. I was surprised and at the same time fell in love, the gun, not the policeman. It was the first time I saw a Bullpup design weapon.
Great gun but would have really liked to see footage of you shooting it suppressed. I heard the AUG isn't a good suppressor host, so would have enjoyed hearing your opinion on carbon lock, sound, balance etc.
It’s definitely unfortunate. There’s just not the aftermarket support like there is for AR’s. The best stuff is gonna be pricy European upgrades. They’re solid though
Hi! WHAT CAN YOU SAY about plastic parts, such as a trigger mechanism, what is the resource of these parts? How many shots can it take? I'm also scared of the plastic in the shutter group. I bought an aug a2 almost a year ago, I made it up to 400 rounds. And I felt sorry for shooting aug. I want to sell and buy a Russian saiga 223 caliber
I recently picked up my own AUG A3M1. I saw your muzzle device and I was just wondering what thread rate you picked for the warcomp. I have been told the barrel threading is a little different.
The new AUG’s use the standard 1/2 x 28 thread pitch so you can attach mostly any after market muzzle devices. If you’re not sure about yours, you can call Steyr, give them your serial number and they can confirm for you
@@bluegunner4719 thanks for the response. I reached out and you are right. I’ve also been told that if the muzzle device and licking nut have a line on them they are in 1/2 x28 as a quick reference for other people.
I'm an AUG fan, I have to disagree with this guy saying "Steyr has done a great job of updating". All Steyr has done to this rifle in 40 years is add pic rails, they made a 300blk barrel, and soon they will be releasing a new version with a handguard. For 40 years I expect more.
How's that Surefire Can working out for you? I have all my rigs setup with that interface, including the AUG, but have not sprung for the suppressor yet.
The Surefire has been excellent. Closing 3000 rounds-ish through her now. No hiccups in any of the rifles or this aug. it’s not going to be hearing safe of course, but it’s got a nice tone and there’s pretty much no flash. Very little impact shift too, at least on my AR’s. I haven’t shot it on the aug past 25 yards yet.
Corvus Defensio is actually an Austrian company
Ah. good to know! I think “defensio” sounding Italian threw me off. Thanks
@@bluegunner4719 Yeah it does sound kinda italian / latin. You still made an awesome video tho *insert thumbs up emoji*
I've wanted an AUG for decades, just picked up an AUG A3M1 and Love it!

I just recently acquired a STEYR AUG and she’s definitely a Cougar 😍.
Fantastic speech at the beginning, tremendous!
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching!
Facts!

I'd be surprised to see it in a policeman too!
It's okay if you fell in love with the policeman too 😂
Everyone trains to use their pinky and ring fingers in an underhand fashion to operate the charging handle. No more bloody knuckles.

Mine suppresses fine.
“Not a bad way to spend ten grand.” -Toretto 😎
How can you tell when the AUG was manufactured?
What a beauty
Which optic to you recommend?
what irons are those?
Just recently joined the AUG club. Love it but was super disappointed with how expensive the corvous aftermarket parts are.

It would be nice to have a light switch integrated into the fore grip.

You would do yourself a favor and lose the war comp and putting a three prong on it. Makes it a lot quieter.
I have the nato version, I’m glad I have it due to being able to get some cheap PMags for it! My scar on the other hand….
Epic

How many channels do you have?
Just the one. Unfortunately I didn’t realize other channels had the same name when I made this one. I’ve been debating a name change
You could say the ar15 is a cougar to.
Lol the scope setup cost more then the gun
It’s than* not then, bozo.
I wish people would stop bothering with irons on these rifles.
why?
