An easier way to assemble the rear butt plate, is to insert the hammer pack and over insert the sling pin. now place the butt plate in place tab first and pull on the sling pin. It will click into place. It is a bit easier to do than trying to push in the release and get everything lined up. To dissemble just do the opposite. Over insert the pin, remove the butt plate, push the button and remove the pin.
When it comes to disassembly/reassembly the first few times, it helps me learn faster to have someone who knows what they’re doing show me a few times, give me chances to back up the video, and really learn the parts and how they go. It’s my first AUG. I got the M3/A1 US version in od green, found the 20” bbl available for sale (with the od green handle!) as well as a Steyr 3x scope for her.
Thanks, I wasn’t clear on how the rail/optic was attached to the M1 receiver and your video told me exactly what I needed to know! I have a Manticore Arms scope mount on order for mine. I like how it looks similar to the Steyr optic while allowing you to pick your own scope. A low-power variable seems a perfect match for the AUG.

Looking to make this my first purchase of a rifle! They have a extended m1 rail that is flush like the short rail. Also I would love some explanation on how to swap ambidextrous ejection and bolt handle sides (if possible as far as I understand it is), would be wonderful as a future vid idea! Also sad to find out steyr doesn’t make 24 inch hbar barrels anymore, really wanted to swap from a 16 inch 30 round to a 24 inch 42 round setup!
I have it on my scheduled to do a video on the euro model AUG A3M1 and on how to do the swap from right to left side ejection. The long real version is nice I used the medium and it worked fine for your standard 3 power objects or just a good said iron sights. They still make all the barrels but if you're looking for the one with the bi pod built on to it you need to send an email to Steyr inquiring about them they do still have some. But you can still order direct from the site the 20in .
@@DJ-jq8if I haven't seen any parts truly just wear out what has broke or needed to be repaired is a lot to do with the shooter but if you are looking for spare parts I would recommend a firing pin kit in a boat rebuild Spring kit. Yes you can. Just like installing a Opitc you just have to remove the 3 bolts and change it out . That on the A3m1 & A3. If you have the STG77 then No , because the rifle Receiver is one piece.
The firing pin removal with that locking flap isn’t on the originals, Looks like they made it more complicated, the F88 only required you to push down on the bolt face and rotate the firing pin to remove! Im not sure I’m a fan of this change

I have yet to see a decent bullpup. Iron sights are pretty much pointless on the rails most have. Flashlights and lasers are damn near impossible to mount. They never work well for lefties. The charging handle is stuck on one side. And often bites your hand. How hard can it be to make a decent bullpup? Or hell, something better than an AR-15. I hate to bash it, but I have yet to see a decent 5.56 rifle I would ever seriously consider buying other than a SCAR and an AR-15.

Double check trigger rods make sure you have them pushed to the sides that will hold up the trigger pack also make sure the hammer is locked in place
