*Update* Car sold after a couple days of listing. In total I profited around $5400 Between 60-70 hrs of work maybe. (I need to keep better track of that)
Next time, get a quote from Carvana. I know several people that sold their cars to them and they paid more than Carmax or anyone would offer via Marketplace, etc. Great job though Zach!
I was so worried you weren’t gonna be able to make your money back. To me this was extremely risky. There’s at 5000 of these vehicles available for sale nationwide if not more. Most of them are low mileage as well. I’ve been offering 4000 and $5000 for low mileage ones. I haven’t got someone willing to sell one to me yet. But all of these cars have been on marketplace for over month so eventually, one of these people might message me back
If you net $5400 for let say 70 hrs. that's great earning. People with good paying job gross pay around 4 to 5K a month. You're also commited to doing a great job fliping cars/trucks. If I were close to you, I would buy from you...I don't mind having a rebuilt cars/trucks, especially newer and low miles. Great works
I don’t want anything so expensive I’d be scared to drive it. Only high dollar car I wouldn’t mind having is a Porsche. Maybe some day. Need to fix up about 100 more of these 😂
It is quite refreshing to see a vehicle rebuild done correctly. Clearly you went the extra mile and did quality work. I would buy reconstructed cars from you all the time having seen you put in that level of detail and quality workmanship. You restore my faith in humanity because I’ve seen many chop shop reconstructions that are absolutely horrible.
Zach, brother, I salute you. Too many people are comfortable with doing the bare minimum backyard restorations just so they can fill their pockets, but you have done what you can to avoid putting crap on the market. Great work man.
Also it keeps the paint from sticking to the floor as it falls and makes for easier cleanup It's what I had done before I plastidipped a car in my garage. It is still on the floor 6 years later
Well done Zach - I appreciate your willingness to jump into a project of this complexity and your resourcefulness as well. One thing to note - you hadn't mentioned the total time committed to this build. May be worth mentioning in the updated comment to give an idea of how much your time is worth. Congrats again.
I really like seeing these type of videos--you taking stuff, fixing it, and making $$ doing it. You show great skill and patience, and you're still learning your craft. Keep it up!
Greetings from Ukraine, A difficult job but well done, keep up the good work. I hope to see many more of your incredible restorations. Keep yourselves.
Great video! I think you should sell it to carmax and take the $10,500 and make a video documenting that process that way you get another video out of it which hopefully brings in good ad revenue and you can potentially make even more! I love this new series with this and the Tacoma! Keep them coming! Keep up the great work! Also even if a car has been in a wreck if it doesn’t meet the insurance company’s threshold to total it the vehicle stays clean title.
You are correct. There’s a lot more technicalities into a car being totaled or not. Easiest way to put it is if it’s going to cost more the repair it than what it’s worth.
Zac you are an amazing artist, painter, body restorer, builder, mechanic etc your talents are uncountable God has blessed you with amazing talent , thanks for the great videos
I appreciate that you did everything pretty much by the book and didn’t take and shortcuts, but I don’t think this should be allowed to be sold as a clean title
Great job 🎉 on the Rebuild and video editing! I just found and subscribe to your TH-cam channel !! I just want to thank you for MOTIVATING me back into Rebuild ( collision repair) I love. ❤️ this profession ( structural and non structural repair) Thank you 🙏
Nice change of direction to these wreck rebuilds. Great to see you making some money for your efforts. I like the other builds too. You do it, we'll watch it. Your comfort in front of the camera and presentation have improved sooooo much since you started. Great job.
Killing it man, always enjoyed your videos. One critique that can help with the future builds is to put kitty hair over those welds and sand it down before you put bondo so you have some moisture protection. I know it doesn’t matter much since it’s being flipped but you don’t half ass things so I figured this could be helpful information. Keep up the good work man
I saw that fancy body shop in Chicago putting on new bumpers/panels then filling the body lines with filler and cutting new lines so they match up perfect when mounted on the car. Might be a strategy for using cheap panels in the future.
Dude this was such a fantastic video! I’ve been following you like 3 years(I think hopefully longer) and I never get tired of the content. You’re such a good painter man. It’s a true gift and you have the touch. Your paint jobs are so incredible on all your projects and yet you make it look. so. easy. Omg. Zach keep doing it man. I live in Georgia and if i ever run into you I would be stoked to meet you. Love everything you post. Love everything you’re doing. Just a big fan!
Take Car Maxs deal . No come backs i.e. no one complaining about a problem with rattles , vibrations etc. And a huge Congratulations to you. I’ve said this before to you and gladly say it again , You Got Skills!
Looks great. I appreciate that it wasn’t a 20-part series and we got to see you finish the car instead of abandoning it for another project like some other guy who loves to use the phrase “wrench every day”.
I was going to say ask $10,000, but if CarMax is offering $10,500, I’d probably ask $12k. Just tell buyers that you could sell it to CarMax today for $10,500 and then they’d mark it up to like $14k or whatever for resale. That way you get a lil more money than CarMax would give you and they’d get the car for cheaper they can get it anywhere else. Win win. We sold a car to Carvana and the process was super quick and super easy. So that is honestly a quick $6k+ profit for you right there.
Amazing job and hats off to you for putting in such an awesome job, but I have to say the colour didn’t match at all bro, your colour was a little too bright compared to the original colour. However the job itself was done very well. New sub 🎉
I give Zach so much credit. I would look at that car in it's previous state and be like "welp, that's a total loss" but he has the vision and talent to resurrect it. Great job.
Nice rebuild and attention to detail. You rebuilt it like you were keeping instead of flipping. Always keep that same mindset and you will do well. Thanks for sharing your journey with us and I hope the channel continues to grow.
Nice work and good videos. I was a professional car painter for 15 years in germany. Only points i would do different: Silver paintjobs final sanding with 800 grid machine and/or 1000 hand. Put some material inside the panels because of your welding after paintjob is done, before assembling the interieur. Wait a few days after painting before sticking vinyls to the paintjob, because the paint will gas out and can cause big problems. The rest was really satisfying 🎉
Hello, I used to paint cars in my garage back in the day to make some extra money. After applying a coat of paint, turn your fan on, then when your garage is aired out, shut the fan back off the less airflow you have in the garage the less chance you’ll get dust and bugs in your paint job, also put a furnace filter on the intake to critters
Awesome videos, it's really cool (and satisfying) to see how people can turnaround wrecked cars back to good as new! Thanks for sharing.. very inspiring.
I love seeing things repaired and live a second life... Kind of a metaphor of life feels like. Rear door top gap bugs me a little but looks great overall.
Zach, great work and the end product is fantastic. I would echo a couple of comments already made that in the economic times we find ourselves in, I would focus on reliable transportation that is affordable for the average buyer. Toyotas, Hondas, and Nissans (without the CVT Transmission) are good options and will sell quickly. More importantly, they are good value for the buyer who probably needs good reliable transportation at a price point they can afford. No matter what, keep up the great work. I definitely prefer these videos vs pontoon boats.
kindly do more this kind of rebuild sir.buget car that most off the ppl afford to buy and maintain it.thank for the wonderful content and have a great future ahead.cheers
Hello from Dronfield Derbyshire in the uk. I have just joined your channel and it’s so nice to see some one doing normal kind of cars instead of seeing expensive high end vehicles. You did an amazing job on the car and a great paint job. I was disappointed to see that you did not spray over the seam sealer in the trunk as you call it over there we just call it a back boot. Just an idea maybe you could put two strips of tape and then do the seam sealer as then it would look a lot nicer. Just an idea?. I look forward to watching more car rebuilds. Take care from Richard
I have to admit I was pretty skeptical at first, but hats off to you sir. You've done an amazing job and took care of every little detail. You're extremely talented. However, the big question for me remains as to whether this car would still be safe if it would be involved in another crash.
HE GONE AND DONE IT AGAIN FOLKS!!! What a transformation. That will sell very quickly. Congrats on expanding your comfort zone by getting uncomfortable with new skills.

Your video is popular because it’s relatable. We don’t own McLarens or Lambo’s.

His paint came out better than those guys and they have an actual paint booth. lol
Nice job. Clean title is relative. That was a total but you did a great job.

If you wet down the floor before spraying it will keep dust and debris from getting in the air and paint. It’s an old trick we used in our shop.
Always!
