I have this camera with canon 32mm f1.4 and its a killer combo for indoor and outdoor photography , and the kit lens is very nice wide open for outdoor pics
everything you mentioned in this video sold me on the camera so thank you for that. this is how you give a review with comparisons. always do research before you make a big purchase.
Not having a mic and headphone socket isn't much of an issue for me as I prefer to use a field recorder. Partner the M200 with something small and affordable like a Zoom H1n and use a cheap lav mic and use the mic on the camera as a guide to sync it. The M200 is ideal as a fun back-up travel camera, which is great with the 22mm f2 or 32mm f1.4 and the Sigma 56mm f1.4.
@@DearestMina a 'lav mic,' or lavalier microphone is a small and discreet audio device that provides a good quality of sound for various purposes. A field recorder is an audio device for capturing sound made by the likes of Zoom, Tascam, Sony, Olympus, Rode etc. If you're choosing the M200 because of its diminutive side you'd be better going for a small hand held recorder, possibly one that can fit in your pocket. Connect your 'lav' to your portable recorder and you can get round the lack of recording options presented by the M200. On camera mics generally aren't that good and people often choose to record audio with an external recorder and when editing your videos you can match up the sound of the recorder with the sound captured by the cameras mic and replace it that way. Every piece of gear has its limitations you just need to read or watch around the subject and you can often find an alternative or plan B for your videos. The right way is the one that is best for you, which may not be appropriate for others but that doesn't matter. I usually find Tech Through The Lens to offer some good advice and go from there. Good luck with your vlogs.
This camera is actually decent for youtube especially if you're just getting started. I'd recommend it for tutorials style videos vs vlogs. It tends to overheat so I'd stay away from it for vlogging. I use this camera in obs for livestreaming on Twitch, fb, and youtube, and making gameplay videos it works just fine for that stuff.
Yeah I have to agree, just finished setting up mine now in OBS and it looks sweeeeet AF. My dummy battery system has no issue with overheating (tested it for 15hours straight lol). All and all if your lighting is good, this camera works fantastic (if your sitting still as mentioned above) Great cheap streaming or youtube tutorial camera for sure
is there another camera you would recommend for vlogging?? i really want to start doing vlogs and i want a camera with the visible viewfinder like this one and everything he said makes this one sound perfect for what i want a camera for.
Got 1 recently with the standard 15-45 lens. It's very light & portable. The focus was fast and reliable. The zoom lenses available with F6.3 isn't very bright when shooting in the dark. Even the standard lens F15-45 I expect at least a F5.6 when zooming in than 6.3. To get better lenses need an EF adapter. Have a Sony A-6000 with a much better 18-105 F4 lens. The lens is bulkier but the range is much more usable. For videos the quality isn't the main issue. During a test run barely 20 minutes into the video the camera shut off. Turned it back on and got a message saying it was too hot. Had to wait for an hour before the video would record again. Not sure if the overheating problem is common. Had a similar problem with an older Sony. Recently made recordings with a Sony camera without heating issue.
Considering getting this as a secondary camera, and getting it "full spectrum" modded so I can mess around with IR and UV photography. The small size would deffinitly be handy for a secondary camera, and being compatible with my EF lenses via adapter is also terrific
Thank you for clarifying my photographic inner-debate! I'll be getting the M50; the 24mm/2.8 & 50mm/1.8... if possible, the 55-250/4-5.6 Thank you for the information!!! Much appreciated!

More expensive and I'm not sure about the colors, but I think the overall package is very competitive.

If there is a visual indicator, such as a bar or meter (leveller), to determine the camera's alignment. 2. The frame rate the videos are recorded is constant or variable? Thank you in anticipation.

Hi River. I am thinking of stepping up my photography game from my smartphone to an actual camera. Where I live, the cheapest mirrorless camera with a kit lens is the Canon EOS M200 (costs around $550). I watched tons of reviews and still can't get over the fact that everyone recommends a Sony camera. I know that they are amazing but buying a brand new Sony camera is costly in Turkey. However, I am looking at the second hand market. Do you think it is a good idea to buy a brand new M200 or go for a second hand Sony camera? Thank you for you amazing review.
Hey so considering the markets in turkey and the economic crisis, I would not recommend buying a camera at all because the lira is to erratic atm. I was in turkey in august and ive made a point to keep up with the economy there. But if you must buy a camera, buy one second hand . I thinkf or someone whose serious about photography and wants the most they can get for their money, a sony camera is your best bet.
