- TCL Roku TV 49S515 49S515LDAA Backlight but no picture/display fix
I found this TV in the garbage, had no cracks on the screen, when I plugged it in, backlights come on but no display, also had sound if I pushed the buttons on the bottom. Usually I would unplug one side of the TCON to LCD cable to figure out which side of the panel was bad, but this TV has no TCON board, main board does all that, plus there is a single cable going from the main board to the LCD, instead of two for either half like they usually do, also the board with the connector on it has to be working for the other side to work, since there is no other way to test the right side (looking from the back), the cable coming from the main board has a smaller connector than the white ribbon cable between the two LCD boards. I disconnected that side to try at least if I can get a white screen which I did.
All I did really was to disconnect the black ribbon cable and connect the end that was in the LCD board to the main board and the main board end to the LCD board, and it turned on immediately. This is the second time I've fixed a TV this way, by flipping cables just to see if a bus wasn't connecting properly. Works out great for this one.

Note - this isn't possible for all models.
I just tried this for my TCL Roku TV (model 50S435), only to find one end of the ribbon cable a different width than the other end. So when I tried to flip the ribbon, they wouldn't fit into the other connection ports. It's designed to fit in a single direction and is not interchangeable.
Clean the contacts on your ribbon cable connectors with a soft brush.
Which is precisely why the model numbers compatible are mentioned.
Did anybody fix there problems
I have tcl 55p607, there is backlight but no image and no sound. Any idea what may be wrong here?

If you can hear the tv menu setting sounds when you press buttons on the remote and you don't have any bad backlights, and flipping cables dont work then you have a bad lcd panel.
This tvs are garbage. I had two roku tvs with the same issue. Backlight turns on but no picture. I replace main and tcon board and still nothing.
mine was that it was constantly rebooting, back lights on but no picture, replaced the motherboard, same thing, replaced the t con board and now it does not reboots
has sound when you press any boutons on the remote but no image back light stays on
Did you check if you had blown backlights?

Does the backlight turn on? Or no backlight and no picture?
TCL is a shitty fucked up brand. I prefer $500 Samsung 32 inch Q50R.
