I've got an explorer and has cold start rattle..so now I just hold gas pedal to the floor and turn the motor over 1nc or twice till my oil pressure guage moves then start normal....and ain't heard no rattle since....been doing it like that for a year and runs perfect

By any chance was yours 4x4? I seen another video where the 4x4 models had an additional chain up front if it was did it make it more difficult?

What happens when you hear a slapping from that drivers side valve cover shut it off. Go to to observe it again and there is now a crack and oil starting to seep from it in that valve cover up front on drivers side

So where you able to get away with just fixing the front one ? And it runs fine? My front timing chain is rattleing and I'm getting a guy to help me fix it he's a pretty good mechanic. Am I going to have to pull the motor because I don't have that kind of money

Hi do you have any idea how many hours that job would take a mechanic ,,, I did get a quote of 450 to replace the front timing chain gasket . its a replaced motor under warranty provided the shitty ass mechanic doesn't lie about the warranty . ,,,,,,,,,, now I have several questions and wanted your opinion ,.since the engine was replaced in my 07 sport from a 2010 sport trac , the 02 sensors have been stuck on rich for 3 months and now another mechanic who I do trust said the timing gasket was leaking ,,,,,, he did a pressure test ,,,,, and said its very possible the antifreeze could have fouled the upstream o2 senor I was wondering if the gasket leaks how would it get through everything and foul a 02 sensor .
