It's honestly pretty amazing to see some of the builds that have surfaced on D2 since I've been gone. I put an absolutely obscene amount of hours into this game from about '05-'09 and everyone pretty much had your classic builds. Hammerdin, Smiter, Cold Sorc, Trap Sin, Ele Druid, etc... Even though some people may call this a "noob" build, whatever. It's obviously not the most effective build, but hey, it's different and looks fun. You may have just inspired me to start playing again.
Magic immune isn't immune to orb. I don't think volcano either.
A big tip I can give you for Frenzy is to put Frenzy on your right click. And what that will do is let you run around and your character will just attack any mobs that come into your range.

would you consider making a guide on character progression? like explaining a "early game build", what gear to get, skill points and stats?
How about an off-hand doom axe? It has tons of -enemy cold res, which could further boost the frozen orb damage. It also has holy freeze aura, which means you can choose a blessed aim merc. The only problem is that you'll be wielding a sword and an axe, but you could split skills in sword and axe masteries as well. The critical hit bonus suffers from diminishing returns, and the attack/damage bonus is not so significant compared to high levels of frenzy, so I guess it would work well.
yeah that's kinda true, how about an off-hand azurewrath? It has a lot of cold damage which could be amplified by ormus, nightveil...the destruction sword doesn't look much appealing

I only learned about Voice of Reason today, found this video, and I'm wondering how stacking two VoR with the new cold sundered charms would work for a frenzy barb in season 2 of D2R.
I am playing a dual VoR right now! I also have two on my merc. Its pretty fun to send a shit ton of frozen orbs everywhere! I have two Eth Oath weapons on swap for cold immunes, I havent tried a sunder charm yet. He just hit A2 Hell and is still rolling through mobs NP

Cool use of 2 runewords that else never see's the day, with ormus and nightwing boosting them :) Have you tried a rift runeword in a paladin scepter yet? Hard to trade for, messes up the sword-combo for skill's (War scepter WSM -10, -30...IAS problems too maybe), but so much better frozen orb dmg. I love my rift assassin :)

This high-level character builds are nice to see, but how about showing us rookies what can be done at the lower-levels? I'm currently playing a Barbarian. When you build these characters, how do you do that? Is there a program or something you use? I watch a lot of "Character Build" videos, but no one shows how to build a character.
How about taking a lower-level character in Normal difficulty and showing how to build that character into something like what you're doing in Hell difficulty? These character builds are awesome, but I'm not close to trying Hell difficulty. I'm beginning to experience Nightmare difficulty, but that is a recent move on my part.

just google diablo 2 hero editor and u got a program to create items and edit levels
Invest a few Points double swing, so that its manacost is reduced to1 or even better 0, build "steel"weapons (tir el runeword weapon, sword or axe) and invest into the fitting weapmastery.
Progress throught the tree by unlocking everything you want and investing Points into mastery and doubleswing. when you reach a certain Point, 24/30 you can use your free respecc and use a skill you like.

you should be double swinging, after you get your frenzy to max charges.
if you dont Count movmentspeed doubleswing is the better choice anyway, ist inherent Speed is higher tahn frenzy, so he could proc at a higher rate and his dmg would be shit but less shit
@@daath912 the damage on double swing is fine when you account for the FPA, etc
I used voice of reason on a kick sin. Occasionally spamming 3 orbs in one attack.
I did something similar with a frenzy barb years ago. Only, I did not intend for mine to kill at all. Just called him a "Fireworks Barb" and put anything that would cast alot of stuff on him. It was fun, but otherwise useless.

You should use Treachery as a second option, so you can get fade to have maximum resistances and I would use chains of honor instead Ormus robbes, just an idea for a diferent gear
Hello. I've heard from one respectful Diablo 2 speedrunner (some world records) that barb should use frenzy only for speed stack and switch to double swing. Your thoughts about that?
Yes. Double swing is miles faster and better. Frenzy for upping speed, double swing to maximize your frames per attack.
would this build work with doomz instead of destruction?
is there a way to overcome the cast delay? being halted from using frenzy for 1 second due to the frozen orb being cast doesnt seem like a good trade.
This build would be different/fun to mess around with but its not good for clearing.
Frigid Highlands is your go to spot. Which doesn't make sense considering those monsters are easy as shit.

Rift runeword would be amusing in addition to voice of reason. However, I know that means splitting your combat masteries between swords and maces which would suck. Also Destruction is such a fun runeword so it would suck to get rid of it for the weaker rift runeword.

it depends on the torchversion, i think i got nerfed to 5-5 in 1.11 cause of gamecrashes

most good runewords dont reqiure a zod, and most good eth uniques arent worth a zod
I know, there's only one runeword with Zod and that's "Breath of the Undying", and it's not even that good. The problem with Zod seems to be that it's incredibly rare, but ultimately useless.
Just find a build that loves botd... wolfdruid is really powerfull and loves the 60ias + raw dmg. its not perfect, but still powerfull on a ww barb

dont you get more triggers with whilwind because of the "high" (xD) attack speed?? also 15% chance for frozen orb isnt really much, why dont you dualwield the same runeword and have 30% chance of casting frozen orb?

I duel wield voice of reason at times but many monsters in diablo 2 are cold immune even with infinity. 15% chance doesn't seem like much but Frenzy barbs with Phase Blade attack very fast and as you can see in the video I'm casting Frozen orbs everywhere.

Will probably never put the time needed into getting the high runes necessary for this build. I've never had an Enigma either since I really only have played single player and self found. Not playing d2 atm but I still watch youtube vids like this and killrobs stupid build series.

Conviction aura only works for the person who is using the aura. You wont deal any more damage with your spells, only the mercenary would if he were casting them, weird mechanic that a lot of people don't know.
You are right only for the "lightning resistance malus" on the infinity, but you are wrong for the "Conviction aura only works for the person who is using the aura" since Conviction affectes monster and actually lowers the resistance of affected opponent, indirectly raises your damage by consequence. But Conviction DOES NOT raises damage directly.

build a dualgrief ww barb with 40, from your Point it should be a free build and deals 20 times more dmg, literally...
