Man this game brings back so many memories. My pops showed me d1 and one day i would watch him play d2 with a zealer. I was 7 at the time and thats when he started to let me play. Throughout 2000-2012 i was playing very often, and did not buy items(still havent) nor join jsp. I played without jsp until 2006, when i was able to sell items like wizardspike for 5fgs and buy hrs at 2fg. It started to sky rocket from there. Now all the builds i had were obsolete and i was now 12 in 2006 with my very first real smiter that was pretty good probably worth 2k fgs back then. I would stop playing for months and thats when my names would get taken and id feel frustrated because i didnt understand the system. Fast forward to 2012 and i began to play the new patches and ladders absolutely fresh with nothing in nonladder. This game is amazing and everytime i begin to play i instantly become hooked again. ive literally tried every single build there, except a melee sorc which i hope to accomplish maybe next ladder. Been on a 2yr break so far
Would love to see another barb vid that focuses on some of the harder to obtain items. I.e. Grief/beast vs. ebotd/SS and which combos are most effective for various situations. I recently made a very similar build but with 3/15+/15+ smcs, and have been having some fun i pub duels. Only thing I would note is to make sure to get a 40% cb maul and use a 3bo cta + hoto for max of +7 bo on swap. (barbs are limited to only 3bo gains from cta)
just got back into diablo 2 by finding the median xl mod although it will never beat the memories of playing the original for the first time but it's been a great mod to give the game a refreshing feel
My go to hardcore character every reset was the IK barb. I could usually get the whole set for sub 250FG and run Nihal runs. And sell the first d keys for 100+ fg a pop for a few weeks. No one could do it with sorcs and have a prayer of living.Then use the few K to make a sorc or pally and keep my ik barb around to kill Dclone and bo my other characters. Leap onto him, howl to make the monsters run. concentrate him to death, grab the loot and run. Since he was an ilvl 97 monster, I also found a random griffins, few 30+ lifer skillets as well for big money. Very rewarding and fun build
i just re-did mine to your speck tonight and i have to say nice build, very cheap once i got the chest plate. i don't have all the inventory goodies that you have but im still very effective. good info thank you
all you need for dclone is crushing blow and open wounds. barbs are probably the easiest to gear and crush dclones, i was doing it with 4 piece ik, arreats and duress with a merc with malice within 2-3days this ladder season. I mfed with that gear all season this far and am pretty wealthy now. 4+ ik is absolutely amazing early on.
Mozis Durre I bought the game again a few months ago, & I honestly couldn't get over how badly the game aged. I've got a few thousand hours worth of gameplay invested into D2 from the early-mid 2000s as well, so when I came back to D2 I did so as a huge fan. But I was bored after 3-4 days of grinding...the game looks so bad now, & feels so clunky.
I wouldn't listen to this guy. i have sunk a similiar amount of time if not double it. I have overplayed the hell out of this game, downloaded it 6 months ago and havent stopped playing. its really not as clunky as this guy is explaining. not bashing him or anything i just don't particularly agree with him. If you are a true diablo 2 fan to the bone, i doubt it will be an issue. the ladder resets keep it interesting

"If you are a true diablo 2 fan to the bone" ^^ That's also subjective, but I literally have thousands of hours played over the span of ~10 years on Diablo 2. I would argue that no one invests that much time into a game without being a "true fan". Diablo 2 was ahead of it's time, & it'll always be great for that. But it's very outdated atm, & I honestly don't see how that could be refuted. If you like the outdated feel, then gratz. It's just not for me anymore.
In the end no matter what is... just play if you want.. if not dont.. all there is to it no need to argue.. and i myself am for example a d3 poe player as well but wouldnt mind d2 at all.. just play whatever you want really...

I like to test that set armor out but I only play the home version and haven't been on line I have a level 72 paladin but he's not doing to great in hell mode. So I just keep playing nightmare. I did finish the first quest in hell mode but that's it. Good video xtimus.
Seems like a waste to wear two Raven Frosts and warcry skillers instead of a nice rare ring and SCs with damage and AR or even HP. IK with WW is probably the most viable out of all item sets.
I have done Dclone on my old IK barb. I did need a weapon with prevent monster heal on switch but because the weapon has 40% crushing blow its possible with concentrate!
I used to run one of these 100 years ago. It was lots of fun except for the occasional party member that had a Call To Arms. They would shout over mine, and their little lvl 8-12 shout would always be worse than a shouting barb. Iron Maiden was the only thing that could kill me from mobs with this build. I heard that got nerfed so maybe this build is even better.
First time i bought an IK set during many seasons ago i was really disappointed how bad it was compared to what i was expecting, i find a Sorc to have more options for good gear which doesn't cost much to get, but then again i am certainly no expert as it was many years since i last played :P

the max frames with ww on an orge maul is 4 frames. Since ww ias only comes from weapon, you need at least 70% ias on your ik maul. So 2x shaels puts the maul at 80% and is cheaper, but 2x 40ed/15 ias jewels are the best option to hit 4 frames on ik maul, with extra damage.
I'd like an explanation on how magic find works in Whirlwind.. As the magic find is NULL in whirlwind.. How do the topazes ( Or other items of course ) work ?

As an old veteran I want to share my experience with D2: Sets are simply not effective at all. Yes, it is possible to play characters with full elite sets, but considering the cost it is wasted effort in any circumstance. Some set items like lay on hands are definitely unique and powerful enough to be used as a single item, or maybe some parts of sets may be somehow useful when combined. Considering the fact that you can invest your currency directly into "better" items, which will most of the time do a far better job than the set for the same price, even if it is not the end equipment. I have tested especially the IK, Griswold and Amazon set with builds that supported these. Mostly even if you spend a fracture of the set costs for a somewhat decent item and run the rest self found, you still are better off. I am sorry lads, no matter how you put it, the sets are not worth the effort. They never have been and never will be. They usually provide "enough" protection, it is easy to go cap resis, but the damage is simply crap. The probably most useful set is Griswolds, but the price in order to socket it right to get the potential out of it with a FanaZeal is riddiculous, definitely several IST runes worth, in which case you could get easily a better unique weapon like a Shaefers or Stormlash. Putting cheap stuff into sockets is again very useless because there is a lot of wasted potential and wasted currency on the set. I have not yet encountered any situation where a full set build would be able to even outdo a self found character. If you absolutely don't care about price and inefficiency, go ahead, wear that fancy glowing set. Otherwise stay away as much as possible. Prove me wrong, if you can.
i like your videos.. tho i would change some things.. like with this build.. you said its easy to obtain, which is true, but then i would also not include the anni, torch and skillers.. i would just go for 2x angelic ring + amu + ik set.. 2x shael in hammer is okish and 2x ptopaz in helmet is also decent. Kill the WW Skill or 1 point it. Max Beserk and then concentrate = +20% Magic damage CON + Defence, and switch to Beserk all magic damage and the Quick1 smack for the kill . + Glow
you forgot to mention that berserk is very useful if you were iron maiden cursed. and what's with the constant clicking when you're doing your WW, just hold the button down and move the mouse ffs

man.. you need to try HC PK'ing - IMO funniest PK char is Corpse explosion/summoner nec. You can literally PK whole run on last wave with one explosion xD
Unfortunately there are only one or two builds to use on certain characters in D2 :E It's too bad that d2 isnt worth playing anymore unless you play singleplayer... Everyone just bots there, zero fucks give to that game anymore :(

As far as I know, attack speed bonus dont affect whirlwind attack spped, only the weapon base attack spped does.
you are correct! double shael or two ias jewels in the maul are the way to go with this build

Immortal King was always really fun to use. It may not be the strongest set but you can still do end game content and have a blast while playing.

One hard point into Leap never hurts any barb build
DC-capable, but you're gonna need some crushing blow to hasten the process. Might also stack up on life leech since you're not running Draculas.

after all these years of playing you might have realised you can hold right click rather than spamming it

Better to sox maul with Ber/Ber or Ber/Lo and use IAS/ED jools in helm and or armor, imo
