That’s a nice trick with the exotic runner perk 👏 I’m using that one lol I agree with the biomes I think they should either add a desert biome to Prometheus or some other features to keep Olympus and Styx relevant. Or maybe even combine the maps somehow in the future. I love the cleanliness of the first 2 maps.
It's very helpful! I try to stack as much movement speed as I can. Yeah hopefully they expand on Prometheus with a new biome, that would be great. New maps would also be amazing.
One thing I was considering doing soon was moving my base to the bottom right of I4 so I could build a stairway to the lava zone cave entrance. That would be the quickest way for Platinum and Titanium
Oh if you want a better meat buffs, then you dry them on the drying rack and they then all get their own unique bonuses, even better than cooked prime and regular meat, so a tip for all you guys starting out. Or never knew that. I haven’t checked on the smoker yet, if they get individual bonuses then, as I don’t need them on my main, I make shepards rolls. Vegetable, fruit pies and roasted veggies. Best combo of food bonuses I’ve been ever to find, they are literally game changing when using all 4.
@@dannyrothko nice. I looked before work this morning, after my comment. The smoker does offer differing individual bonuses to different types of prime meats, so I say to all. Definitely use them when you can make and use the smoker. And before that. The drying racks then you can have easily two, very good meat bonuses that do different things and one fruit. Or muffin/veggie one that suits your play style and build.
@@dannyrothko for any wondering, I’m a bit over 1200 hours into Icarus, doesn’t make me amazing or anything. Just saying I have a little experience may main character is bows, no melee talents at all, besides like one needed in the solo tree to get what I want, I have enough farming talents to be able to make gunpowder from fertilizer, plants don’t spoil and have 4 food buff slots. After that I have enough of the tier that gives you bonus iron and metals and what not. Only first over encumbrance perk. Then mainly into bows and arrows damage, extra durability and maxed out pick axe durability. That’s the major run down of my talents, besides max stamina ones, most of the health ones. And movement speed, o rock the compound bow, composite arrows with deadly 3 talent. Plus two in bleed. One into slow/stun. I rock the top tier crossbow, with titanium bolts. No points into mounts or auto wood pick up of the jumping one, not saying they are bad, they just don’t suit me and my play style. The only times I use animals, is when I gotta build a high tier base for a mission, which isn’t very often these days, only got like 2 left on Olympus and the ones on Prometheus drop left short of some oylmpus missions, I’ve been all Styx. As I find animals way too cumbersome and vulnerable, plus long distance, with my food buffs and movement buffs I can out run any mount, as I have far, far more stamina and sprint close to as fast. I can sprint 3 squares diagonally before I gotta stop so I don’t out of stamina and take longer to regen it then, and it regen super fast. Way faster than any mounts, tiny bar, I got from central Styx, woodland biome all the way north or south. Through the arctic biome and into the next woodland one. Gather resources, do a fast and easy mission and can be back to main base in central Styx valley at or just past dark, on foot. I’m not bragging like I’m so good, I just had a long time to figure out and refine things, and this is where I ended up. No movement speed modules, I got the one that gives the max inventory slots, and 15% increase, my general back pack is the leather one, switch out for more specialist as needed. All titanium tools, station oxy tank and canteen. And the suit that gives 10 physical, 2 mod slots, 1 oxy, water, and 5% stealth when sneaking. Thats my general build, gear and talents for any who want to emulate what I learned from others and found out myself, oh and food types too, it’s an amazing overall build. Works great for me.
@@dannyrothko oh, my other comments, all about oaky style for talent choice all that, do what works for you, I tried some of the ones you use. They work. They just work for me and my style, this goes for anyone playing Icarus or other games, play how it fits you and what you like, maybe you only like one or two things I do, or that Danny does, or whatever someone else comments or shows. Cool, it’s a game, play how you like and what’s fun, that’s the point of a game. But back to my point about my food choices, seriously look up my 4 choices, you get do bonus, shared do bonus, ranged damage and attack speed, melee damaged and attack speed, stamina, health, and both regen, less water and oxygen use. And some others I can’t remember without looking and just getting to the point I can log in, for like an hour, before wrapping up my knight, work has been busy as hell lately, not as much game time, as tired and backed up on things I need to do. But anyone curious look up those 4 food buffs, will post when I can, of people ask about them, and they can’t look up, easily.
I think the grind for gold and copper to truly start unlocking tier 4 is a little over the top. Nothing takes like a reasonable amount of electronics, all the critical crafting stations and deployables take like 60 electronics. For me I emptied my storage of every piece of gold and copper I had gathered up to that point to make wire and I was still 12 electronics short of being able to make a single device. And there are a ton more items that all required between 30 and 60 electronics. I'm pretty sure I've found and completely mined out every cave that doesn't require me to go to a different biome, and I'm nowhere near equipped well enough to start venturing to other biomes.
@@dannyrothko I've found deep ore nodes for just about every ore, but I don't know how the process of extracting the resources from them works. Do I have to unlock and craft one of the drill devices and set up a bio generator full of fuel there to power it or what?
@@Rowgue51 you can craft a biofuel deep ore drill. That takes biofuel cans direct. It will get you started. The next step to be a little more efficient is to make electric deep ore drills, a bio fuel generator and an electrical tool. Then you can run two drills off one generator and the generator is more efficient with a single can of bio fuel. I think its 3 hrs vs 5 hrs of drilling, plus you're powering two drills for 5 hours vs 1 drill for 3.
I don’t understand how the aspect ratio changes for no reason? Never seen that happen with any of the other 10s of thousands of videos I’ve ever watched… It’s been a “thing” since your first video on this series… I’m so confused! 😆
😆 sorry about that. It's fixed starting in the next one! Basically I had to play in windowed mode and icarus doesn't lock your cursor in the window, so its constantly clicking outside and resizing. I fixed it by just getting a different monitor set up starting in the next part.
If you are planning to start in Prometheus, I would suggest, you do not take any tools or suits from workshop. The armors and tools are better in Prometheus, plus you can add attachments. The Obsidian Suit and the miasmic pickaxe are the real OP stuff.
Thanks! I'm definitely planning on working towards the composite & obsidian armors and putting attachments on those. I'm still just a fresh level 20 so to kick things off I want to get the workshop armor to make life easier until then. And YES the miasmic pick & cleaner are a huge priority for me, infinite epoxy
Fresh start at level 18 with a base built already? Is this a setting you can choose? Seems a bit weird to start with so much. Keep in mind I've never seen this game before.
Thanks for watching! This is the 4th video in a series, I start from the very beginning with nothing in the first part if you wanted to check that out.
@@dannyrothko Oh usually people put something like "episode 4" or whatever in the title so people know they aren't watching the first vid for the series. Thanks for the reply :)
Personally I always skipped platinum tools and weapons, far more valuable things to use your platinum on, like all the tier 4 stuff. I make steel, get a steel pick. Then go straight to titanium pick, then I get a better bow, recurve, and flint arrows still, till I run out. And steel arrows until I’m rocking compound bow, composite armor have enough tier 4 tech to make anything I need, stockpile composites, as I out fit with all titanium tools and weapons, then rock composite arrows too, top crossbow and titanium bolts. What I did with my main character way back when. Worked great, was a little rough at times, but always a top line base, good enough tools, with no wasted materials on any intermediate tools
@@dannyrothko I was thinking the same thing... I have the Steel stuff and can mine Titanium and Platinum without the need for the Forge. Of course I want to get everything to try it all out! :)
I like the chill way you talking in the video. As a viewer, i recommend making vid around 30min long to make it more consumable. What mode is this that you don't have to keep going up to the space station? I have done missions through the space station
"Open World" mode is what you are looking for! You can build an orbital exchange station that lets you do missions in the open world map.
