Tbh, if they tied that haze to a weather event, it'd make a bit more sense. Esp in the grasslands, which, in my mind, are exposed to alot of wind. Which make a haze that is not planet-wide, disingenuous, for just that one place. Swamps, I can understand having a miasma, but not a grasslands. In any case, another excellent episode, thanks! 👍
I too have a base in the same place, on the island. The place you put your base is a spawn point for bears and leopards. One point, when facing bears, you can just step aside as it runs towards you. Just like matador and bull play. Also you landed beside a medium cave. Also there were quite a few caves near your drop location. One thing I have learned is that always build your base on pillars or frames, at a height. Also less windows, storm destroys the benches near them. Also animals will pester a lot.
I eventually decide to settle on the island as well, it's such a great spot. I'll have to try that strategy with the bears too! Hm, I'll re-explore the area by the drop pod as well and check out the caves.
If you craft windows for the window openings I think the items in the structure don't take damage any more ? (at least that was my experience until a few months ago, I stopped playing Icarus 4 months ago and I'm not sure about all the changes since then)
You could get to max level on any planet. The first map, olympus, is actually bigger than Prometheus with more missions. They also just updated Olympus so all the missions should be available in open world now
I used to consider the steel tools as the best cost/performance-durability ratio, but you seem to favor platinum ? I'll have to replay the game, maybe things changed also in that respect...
Yes steel tools are pretty cheap and easy to make. I like the platinum because there isn't much use for platinum ore outside of making tools and eventually sheathes/composites. Steel/Iron always seems to be in short supply for me for concrete buildings, iron chests, composites etc.
@@dannyrothko Ah I see, it was usually the reverse for me, with truckloads of iron to spare... I just spent my afternoon on an old OpenWorld I had on Styx and I was surprised with the new deep veins : I stumbled on Titanium+Platinum deep veins (and others which did not have deep veins in the past, like Salt) and caves with 2 deep veins also. That's a big game changer for OpenWorld (not so much for mission drops though)

I agree, it can be a bit heavy at times! It does kind of burn off in the afternoon but the mornings are like pure fog.
Were you beating up the pod inside 😂🙌💗 made me lol
😂

😆

If you chose to stay on that first planet how big is it and what level could you get to?

@@dannyrothko im thinking about getting this. I'm on video 15 or 16 now. The end game seems lacking. We shall see.
Dude you have horrible luck with bears 😂😂
😂
Should have mined 1 exotic... or?
How do you even stand playing in that haze? Gave me a headache just watching 20 minutes of it.
Hahha, yea it can be annoying. But I've gotten used to it!
