    This maybe a new break through, but a little pricey for a pound! Thanks for sharing 👍

    I think the 3D printing / RC community needs to come up with a quality competitive open source 1/10 scale RC buggy and SCT. I just bought a small CNC to go along with my 3D printer. I'm planning on building a jet prop RC boat with aluminum hull for creek bashing.

    Nice print! I've printed some parts for my RC F1 using abs, these held up just as well as the stock 3racing arms and parts but I did make everything oversize around the pivots especially. One thing you could try is to make it a more solid shape but hollow as you can print hollow parts with just a support structure and the skin is what takes most of the load anyway. Molded parts can't really do really thick walls or hollow parts due to plastic shrinkage and tool design but with FDM you really can make parts which are functional even when using ABS and modifying the design to suit. I can sent you a pic of the parts I did if you'd like. ABS is what tamiya make (or used to make) a lot of parts from so its possible. Nylon if you can get it to stick to the bed and print reliably would be ideal but I havent had much luck and the ABS print material so much cheaper you really can experiment with many designs cheaply

    some people might like the flex. arms flex works similar to tire side-wall flex. keep tire more planted (grip) but less response.

    The problem when making arms that soft, screws. PR Racing has durable soft arms like that and while the durability is good, you have to change them after wrenching a few times because the screws no longer hold in their place. Or end up using ca glue so they don't back out and even then the glue doesn't work anymore. I dunno, i'd prefer molded parts for certain areas like arms, hubs etc.

    It will be very interesting to see what happens if this trend picks up...i.e. everyone has a printer in the pits and just prints parts instead of buying the parts.
    If the suppliers can't make money they may not see the business case to make some cars

    • @jacobkeller29
      @jacobkeller29 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      eco8gator I think it's the future. At least it's another way to justify the cost of buying a 3D printer, or even a CNC machine. Open source is the best

    • @robbieracer3294
      @robbieracer3294 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can justify the cost by not buying one lol. Not sure why people feel the need to go out and buy a 3d printer when it's still cheaper to buy the parts already made. Unless you are making things like the Viking diff station, shock tower guards or small stuff, but making parts like arms and hubs..easier to buy those off the shelf
