    I like the front bumper and the interior design suits better than 996 with rear seats which looks awful with wool trim .

    Your quarter window blanks operate the heated seats in my 1998 986. They actually make it pretty nice with the top down on a cold day.

  • @grdnof

    The fake buttons below the ashtray that are not available in your car are for heated seats

    In addition to moving backwards and forward, the driver's seat also moves up and down. I'm 6' and have lots of head room, but I'm always sitting at the lowest setting.

    I've seen several videos claim that the 986.2 came out in 2002. I have to clarify that even though they were available in the Fall of '02, they were 2003 models! The glovebox and added HP and Torque were added to the 2003 model year. I don't keep track of bumper changes!

    You stated that the earlier 986 that were 3.2 liters did not have the dual exhaust. That is incorrect my 2001 Boxster S has the stock dual exhaust on it.

    I'm about to buy one, can you tell me if the regular non-s mode slower and how's the handling?

    • @evogt8702
      @evogt8702  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The regular non S Boxster has about 220-230 hp whereas the S in the model I had has about 269hp. I haven't driven a non S Boxster so I cannot really say much but there are differences between the two cars. I would go with the S (as I did) just because the price isn't that much more and for the differences I say it makes up for it.
      Let me know what you end up going with I would love to hear!

      Mine had 88k when I bought it and I sold it with about 96k. I never had an issue with the car, it never left me stranded or anything. To be honest though it was a one owner and exceptionally well take care of. If you get a basket case one I’m assuming it’ll be problematic.

    I'm making decals for my Boxster. Just the Porsche script on the sides. I have a nice vinyl plotter and can make any kind of decals you want for way less than they sell for. I'll send you one if there is a way for you to get me your address., and tell me what color. I have some black ones made already. I am a artist and have a website, so you can contact me at www.hotpistongraphix.com. I would like to see it on your car in your videos.

    I wouldn't trade my mint 2004 Nissan 350 Z Roadster for that car at any time. Z more fun to drive better looking and no maintenance!

      To me 350z roadster is one of the ugliest cars. It made me angry to look at.

    • @papatorr3669
      @papatorr3669 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm glad you wouldn't trade your Z for an S. The Z has faster acceleration. But track comparisons from Japan put the S ahead, the Z brakes fade quickly. I was mad at Nissan for the thugly styling. I think they had the 911 in mind but it's not close in looks or performance; although it's way cheaper and has a lot of horsepower potential. The Z is very labor intensive for repairs, there's no room to work in. Club racing is available for both. The flat six is melodious, but the Z sounds wicked 👍. I think James Dean would pick the 986 S over the 350Z, and so did I, and that pretty much says it all 😛.

    • @GeorgeFitness-yo8bl
      @GeorgeFitness-yo8bl 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@papatorr3669 It’s a beautiful and fun Roadster. I spend very little on any repairs, and my Z is 18 years old. It’ still turns heads at 18 and I could afford a much more expensive roadster. Don’t care what you would take . I would take the 350 Z Roadster all day everyday

    • @papatorr3669
      @papatorr3669 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GeorgeFitness-yo8bl Touché, I however, would take a 350Z, they sound amazing with an upgraded exhaust. When I decided to upgrade my Base Boxster, right after I sold my MX5 NA on Christmas eve a few weeks ago, I considered every car I could think of at $15k or less: And I picked up a 986.2 S! So when choosing between a Z or an S, I picked an S with my dollars. I live at the foothills of the Smokie mountains. I have several toy cars that don't go to town, only two lane twisty mountain roads. I think I might choose the Z if I was cruisin' or posin' in town. Z cars look awesome at car shows. But even back in the 300ZX days, I had a Supra Turbo. You be the Z guy leaving a post on a 986 S video. I be the 986.1, 986.2 S, Z3 1.9, Z3 3.0 manual, Z3 3.0 Auto, E46 330cic Auto, 330cic Manual, 330xi 6 spd manual, and RX8 manual (favorite handling car, even if not the best handling). Now you know what you don't care that I took, every one of them over the 350Z
