    Yes!!! 1000%. This video stopped me from driving my 2023 M3LR off a damn bridge.
    I’d like to add, that I placed significantly more felt tape in the plastic buckle assembly AND on the white plastic bumpers that rub against the metal frame of the car.
    I also placed strips of adhesive foam weather stripping on the metal pillar on both the rear and front sides.
    Noise is down to an absolute minimum now.
    Thanks again.

    For a simple fix if you plan on keeping the slider in the lowest position is to slide it up and put some thin felt tape on the slider and then just lower it down. Just make sure the felt isn't visible and boom 1 minute of time seems to have fixed the rattle.

    Hey, watched your video yesterday and wondered if this was the source of a rattle in my 2023 MYLR. Instead of taking the cover off I decided just to slide the adjuster all the way to the top and take a drive. THIS WORKED!!! Thank you so much for giving me the correct place to look for my rattle. If the rattle comes back, I may still have to remove the cover and apply felt tape. Thanks again.

    Excellent job! I had asked Tesla to fixed this and they couldn’t. When I followed your instructions I found out they had put the three pieces of felt on the front face of the seal belt guide but not the 6 tabs you showed. I put the 6 tabs and NO MORE RATTLES!! Thanks!!

    Fantastic! I've been adding a request to fix this rattle to every service request I've made through the Tesla app for the last year or so, and every time my appointment finally comes up, the damn rattle has vanished, so I have to take it off the request or else they'd charge me $200 for the effort of looking for it but not finding it. I've always *wanted* to fix it myself, but had no idea how. This video is a godsend!

    Thanks for doing this video!! I purchased a 2021 MY LR a month ago and this rattle developed on the passenger side. It would not rattle if someone sat in the passenger seat. I was going nuts trying to find it. After seeing this video, I made a temporary "fix" by sliding a piece of 3M furniture pad in the upper left and right corners. This puts enough pressure on the cover to silence the rattle. I think I'll put in a service request for a mobile tech to rectify and use you video if they are not aware of the issue.

    Thanks for doing this. I will definitely give it a try. Am loving my new Model Y (VIN 85000ish) but the high number of rattles is for $60 grand plus, outrageous and really unnecessary. Its all the cheap, brittle plastic parts and coarse-screw fasteners. (Most of which are probably from outside suppliers who got the contract for the lowest price.) Quality isn't cheap, but bad quality is maybe even more expensive. Especially when you are trying to build credibility for a brand with no history. If rattle reduction (if not elimination) were part of the design process from the beginning, it should really reduce the problem. Just my $.02.

    • @EveryAmp
      @EveryAmp  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm with you that rattle reduction doesn't have to cost a lot and rattles really detract from the impression of quality. But at the same time, paying more for a car doesn't necessarily get you fewer rattles. See any number of exotic car brands there.
      Tesla is the king of performance, range, and technology for a reasonable price (for what it is), but not comfort, reliability, or quality.
      My ideal car is probably a Mercedes ride with Lexus reliability and quality and a Model S powertrain. Wishful thinking.

    Great video. My 1000 mile 2021 Model 3 has this same issue on both sides, mostly when the interior is cool. However, your fix didn't work. I took it apart for the third time and finally figured it out and wanted to share here for others to learn. Basically, the fabric covered outer piece, if you look on the inside, those plastic rails are actually a separate piece of plastic that has been permanently heat staked into place. My rattle was coming from between those two pieces. I jammed felt in between and it's completely gone! I'm sure you could also just use a few dabs of super glue instead. So blissfully quiet again!

    You could make a living soundproofing Tesla vehicles. They are rattle traps. You would think Tesla could invest a little time and money to significantly improve the driver experience by placing soundproofing in specific areas. They could do some research with current users to learn what they need to do. It wouldn’t increase the cost of the vehicle much but could make all the difference in the world.
