    Great video!! Escorted me through the entire job. Appropriate amount of detail without all of the "look at me" extraneous stuff you see in a lot of TH-cam "how to" videos. Great stuff man...truly appreciate you taking the time to do this!!

    Thanks for the vid! Big help! Also don't over tighten the bushings. I had an issue with the shifter sticking left and right because they were too tight.

    Thank you so much, by far the best cable bushings video on the focus !

    I had no idea that I needed to realign it. Thanks for the tip!

    I did this mod on my ST 2 years ago. The shifter feel is so satisfying now.

    great video, all the info I was looking for and nice to see everything clearly! Thank you for this. I just received the same bushings and my breet ss comes tomorrow. (going to try #4 spot first)

      Nice grats, love the Breedt, I was glad I was able to take it from my ST to my RS ( reason why my Breedt is yellow as I had a TS ST ). and thank you for the feedback for the video, the videos I found online at the time were mostly photo slideshows that missed a majority of steps that didn't really help when I did my bushings

    Do you know the OEM part # for the weight clip or an equivalent replacement?? Mine is missing one of the 2 legs on it. 1 must have snapped off prior to owning the ST and I'm concerned it may come loose. So far its ok, but just to be safe.

      when I was searching for just the green inserts, i was not able to find any piece of the cable being sold individually, Tasca gave me the part number of CV6Z-7E395-G for the whole cable , make sure you give them your VIN so they can confirm it will work on an ST

    Where is this part located? I've been trying to find it.

    I just did this mod on my st, but it didn't say to do the realignment. Does the st have to do it? Ever since this mod i hit a wall now when trying to downshift to second from 3rd so im wondering if i need to realign.

    • @warlockankah
      @warlockankah  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you will need to Realign, after the wall should be gone

      i have now the same issue with second gear after i replaced the bracket bushings, did not replace the cable bushings though, did you manage to fix it?

    • @mustang2005
      @mustang2005 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      michel khairallah realigning it fixed it pull that red tab on the shifter peice that connects under the battery while the shifter is in neutral then put it in 4th gear then push the red tab back in and its aligned

    did this and my 5th gear now grinds. I'm not sure if I bent the cable or not but everything is in the same position.

      Hard to say, the only things I can think of is the bushing is to tight, or needs re calibrated

    Hope you're still around to answer questions - why do most kits come with 3 bushings? Is it only necessity to replace the two in the engine bay at 1 at the shifter? Or is 1 bushing a spare? Is the 4 bushings at the shifter base worth replacing?

    • @warlockankah
      @warlockankah  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have not seen any Bushing kits come with 3, so I don't know, I would assume spare. as far as bushings on the shifter base, I have not noticed any need, my opinion is its not worth it compared to how much you have to take apart the center console ( I took off the center console for my Ford Performance Short Shifter for my Focus ST when I had it, I did not bother with it on my RS due to having to remove the center console, and the PITA involved )

      The kit with three is most likely for the shift cable bracket. Those are rubber as well. Two different kits for two different parts of the vehicle.

    Was yours less springy when you installed the bushings?

    • @warlockankah
      @warlockankah  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the springyness is due to the rubber bushing, replacing the bushing makes shifting more notchy and firm

    2 questions for you. Just did this install today. The transmission cable, the one that sits vertical, what if I accidentally spun it 180 degrees and the adjustment clip is facing the other direction and installed the new bushing and attached it... Does the cable have to be positioned facing a certain way or is it okay the way I installed it? Also I noticed when you were snapping yours back on to the arm they went in easily. Mine were very tight. The shifter doesn’t want to return to dead center when I shift into neutral. If I loosen them will that fix that issue or do you have the same issue?

    • @warlockankah
      @warlockankah  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I do not know if it HAS to be facing a certain way, but If it was me, I would flip it back to where it was,,,, as far as not wanting to return to center / tight fit, no I do not have the issue, it sounds like the bushing are to tight
      but for the record, I am not an expert, just a dude that made a video on the internet

      warlockankah took your advice. Went out and flipped it and also loosened them to hand tight. Night and day. Thanks for the advice. You’re not worried about them walking they way loose over time only being hand tight?

    • @warlockankah
      @warlockankah  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      in a few cases I have heard of them coming loose, I used a little Loctite Blue 242 on mine ( be careful you don't use Loctite RED, as that stuff requires a blowtorch to get off, and because the connector itself is plastic, you will have to replace the whole cable if you need to get Loctite Red off )
      you should be fine with just Loctite blue 242 or 243 depending on what you can find ( I got mine at home depot, you can also find it at Walmart, and Lowes ) will set in around 10 minutes, but takes 24 hours to fully cure
