Killdeer (Charadrius vociferus) - Inspecting Nesting Ground

A couple of Killdeer are preening and inspecting the nesting ground in early spring before deciding where to nest. Recorded 14th of April, 2024, in Parc Michel-Chartrand, Longueuil.
Fun fact: The Killdeer (Charadrius vociferus) is named not because it can kill deer, but because of its vocalization, which sounds like "kill-dee" or "kill-deer". This becomes more obvious when you consider its French name, "Pluvier kildir".
