- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 8 ก.พ. 2025
- The Cape Cod Canal is a world famous landmark for Striped Bass fishing. Every year thousands of anglers flock to this unique stretch of MA in hopes of finding trophy Striper from land. However, fishing at the Canal can be fairly difficult for beginners. In this video I do some late October Striped Bass fishing at the canal and narrate some tips that helped me gain confidence and consistency

I so appreciate these longer form videos of yours with narration-- I am new to saltwater and appreciate having the voice of a teacher to give me observations to think about. Thank you!
Thanks for watching Scott! Appreciate your comment 🙏
It’s nice to see you not gatekeeping the canal there’s a lot of people who like keeping it like it was when that’s not feasible and this is the best for all the new anglers learning proper catch and release
Haven’t been fishing in about 3 years in saltwater now, seriously miss it but your videos give me such a nostalgia feel that i can’t stop watching. Nothing feels better than catching your target immediately the day after not catching your target at all
Jigging in the canal is probably my favorite thing when it’s hot such an awesome feeling feeling that tap and setting the hook
I appreciate your respect for the fish. A true angler
Already ready for next season
🤨
You guys get such a short fishing window man how do you do it
Any day Tackle2ThePeople posts is a good day… and a full length video?! the best
I agree, Ed Kirch!

That's a great day for late october at the canal.
Get your popcorn ready full length vid!! Nice fish man I never made it up to the canal this season
Haha thanks bro. Just trying to make up for lost time. September was wild!
I normally striper fish for a long time into October, but this year I stopped around early October! Love the videos keep it up
Thanks! Hopefully they’ll be around in November 😁
Love these videos keep up the good work
Man! So happy to see this! Literally got my last Lil Dink striper yesterday morning! Great video man!
Thanks Trevor!
Great video! And thanks for the advice, I been having trouble targeting stripers but this really helps! 👌🏼
Sure thing Draggy! Thanks for watching 🙏
appreciate the video. love october fishing on the cape. Never fished the canal. Looking forward to it. Thanks for all the tips.
👊🤟

Gotta love hot striper action at the canal! I was just there in July and did good. Hopefully, back at in October! Great video!
I like that he said leave a like for the algorithm, not for him. So people interested in fishing will be shown more fishing content in general, instead of only him.
great to see a longer video, keep up the work
Appreciate you!
They still here, infact I've been on my best bite all season. Broke my personal best TWICE in the same night the other night.
I'm only 4 years into this so I have no idea if it's normal for fish of that class to still be around.
2 nights ago I was catching schoolers every cast.
3 nights ago I was catching 20 and even 30 lb fish.
Also important with whatever fish you try to catch cover a lot of water. Once you find fish fish the area until bite dies down once it does continue doing to casts per spot. Obviously using a pencil popper which I hear is great for stripers 1 cast because it takes a long time to retrieve. 1 second pause per 1/4 turn of reel an gently pop rod tip keeping hand near the 1st guide towards the reel pinching line between index an thumb.
Pretty cool stuff dude. Greetings from Canada
Just got a new sub much love to people like you!
Hey man, I’ve been subbed for super long and remember before you had the folding kayak. I think the full length videos are a brilliant idea but I feel that a spot of music could make this better. I think Ace Videos does it really well and you should probably try something similar. Anyway, I love ur content and adore the shorts!! Keep on rocking bro! Tight lines!!
Appreciate you! One of the OGs 🙏
Can’t wait till next striper season😁
Ikr
Yah a full length video sweet thanks
Thanks for watching!
I want to go fishing now
Thanks for sharing your skils
Seen your shorts, never seen actual videos. Definitely a good vibe from ya, would love to see longer vids!
Thanks nova!
Buzzards Bay on the south end of the canal will hold small stripers all winter long.
You mean west end if you're talking buzzards bay. The canal runs east west
Love the full video
Great video!👍
Nice watch dude. I like to fish with a casio Protrek or gshock with a tide tracker myself. I'm horrible at keeping track of the tide so I love my Prw-70 titanium and my Gshock GWN-1000B-1B. I don't like smart watches but the tide and barameter features in these tough little buggers are handy as heck for me when fishing.....or at least give me an ecouse as to why I'm not catching. 😅😅
nice video, i love you man ♥
Love the full length video! U used my comment!!
Great job
The keitechs have been so good for me
Great video. New subscriber and new to striper fishing. I do better kayak striper fishing than in the canal. I’m going to the canal this weekend. I’d like to see list of all the bait and lures you use. Thanks!
Awesome video I’m still fishing out there. Still good fishing out here.
Nice! Any size?
@@Tackle2thePeople got some yesterday 27 1/2. A lot of schoolies
@@oskee007striperlife glad to hear they’re still around. Warm weather keeping em here!
@@Tackle2thePeople warm weather I’ll take it. Fish on maybe I’ll bump in to you some day.

Can you tell me the model and brand of the fishing rod?
Can u make a video about how u set ur fishing reel? What kind of knot and ur line and leader?
I Would love to see a gear breakdown, like what rods and reels you use?
What rod are you using?
I got 4 schoolies, a 38 and a slot 32 last weekend....
Killin it boss 💪
@@Tackle2thePeople I wad stoked about bringing one home. I haven't been able to get out there to many times this year. The canal is a 2 hour ride.
I love your vids
Thanks Abby!
What rod power?
What rod do you used?
Nice video…..Been trying the canal alittle and own 3-8 ounce 11’ ODM ROD that I use but want to get possibly something slightly lighter for tossing smaller lures. What rod are you using and ratings..thanks
Give it a little line before flipping the bale. Don't wait so long. 4oz+ will hit pretty fast then bigger jigs will produce bigger fish
Can you recommend be a saltwater rod under $150 for flounder or just normal pier fishing
Nice video man!
What St Croix rod and Daiwa reel? Looks like BG?
How late would you think the stripers would stay up in NH? Also, do any fish stay up north in the later fall? Thanks! Loving your content!
Yes there are occasional hold overs if water temp and food sources hold hope I could help
Mantap kawan🙏
wow
Please come back and help me catch a Striper!!! Would love to go fish w ya
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻woohooo!
what Rod is that?
Can you please tell me what weight the bucktail and Savage gear that you prefer to use. Ty
i notice when changing lures you just tied it directly to your leader, why not use clips for changing lures quickly? is clips not as good as tying it directly to your leader or just preference? appreciate the feedback.
I always thought at bad weather it was bad fishing
I don’t saltwater fish to much but pls on buying my first surfcasting rod and reel but the two times I fished the canal I was on the other side of the canal on the jedies
Hey what size rod reel and line do you use for this type of fishing?
Can you do pike fishing full length video
Ooo great idea
That little jetty is your honey hole😊
Can you tell me what part of the canal to try? I looked it up and don’t know the best part of it to park and go down to
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Can you put a soft plastick in the bucktail.
looking forward to getting out there more this year! what version of that daiwa bg reel do you use?
Have you ever showed your face in a video? Love your vids BTW
Are you using a hell raiser?
Can someone help I am trying to catch my first fresh water striped bass do you have some advice for me. Heads up I am fishing in the st Lawrence river / marina de cap rouge
nice thing about fishing channels like that though is very rarely do I get snagged on anything but a rock
Great video, what size jig heads you using
what rod do you use for your large mouth bass fish and your trout fishing
In Ky on Cumberland river we fish for fresh water stripers. HUGE! We use bait that big. lol. No joke.
@tackle2thepeople what rod do you fish?
What reel setup you have in this video?
This is about the same time I was at the east end of the jetty with my little Yamaha boat!
I marked a shitload of fish and only ever had one bite and a bunch of crabs so I must have been doing something wrong.
You mentioned tide, is the easterly low tide/current what you want to fish this side or do you want it slack?
What rod length is more suitable for this type of fishing on jetty?
Have u fished Long Island
How many oz is the Bucktail?
What rode is this
Rod specs and braided line weight?
Hi👍🏻
can you yews swimbaits?
Would you say these are all hold over fish
and sure enough
Anyone know what rod and reel he is using?
is that a jetty caster ?
What type of rod and reel set up are you using??
its mojo inshore st croix rod probably 7'11 or 7'6 heavy or medium heavy with 4000 or 5000 daiwa bg reel
Start posting MORE VIDEOS PLEASE
Why you bring them back to water ?
They aren’t the best for eating

Hi

Screw the fish. I’d bust my rear end climbing down on wet and slippery rocks.
What set up are you using, rod and reel?
