God Bless you DILLON, watching you bringing me back 20 years, my buddy and I were fishing maniacs. Now he’s moved to Florida 10 years ago and now you’ve got me taking a trip to the tackle store, lol . Love your enthusiasm young gun, my son tells me he knows plenty of 70 year olds fishing the MARTHAS VINEYARD DERBY, also around my area of the north shore in Massachusetts, again God bless you and as I tell my sons when am I going to see your first 50 plus, hopefully you will get one or dare I say two this year 😅
NJ native who is gonna start jetty hopping again now because of your video. Brought back great memories, thank you Dillon! Best of luck in school as well!
LOL, Pullin that hook @10:47 had me moving to my right so I wouldn't get hooked. Sometimes your so into the Vid that it feels like you are there. Funny!!!
Wow did this bring back memories of my brother and me fishing in Barnegat Light in the late 70's and early 80's. I don't remember the jetty being that long. Great stuff!
i am a fisherman beginner found your channel recently and i will say i have watched several of your videos, has helped me a lot, thanks for your videos :)
EXCELLENT video my man! Like how you zoomed in when swapping out lures AND identified each individual plug/lure for viewers. Nice touch to the overall content. Tight lines.
Blues, Stripers, and even Black Drum were very fun this spring. The most fun had to be blues on Topwater, the majority of the gator blues I caught this season were on topwater. Diamond jig was productive but I found the small one loved it much more. Also caught a fluke on an SP minnow which was very odd.
nice run of fish. cool to let that gentleman have a bluefish. you never know who is hungry. i run a middle treble and a rear single on most of my plugs. basically every two hooked plug outside of pencil poppers get that setup. you 100% lose out on the hookup rates but you'll almost never hurt a fish with a crushed barb on a rear single. you've got to have the fish pinned on the way in but the hooksets are usually a little deeper than a treble hook and the hooks are stronger unless there are multiple barbs in the fish with the treble. i would consider sizing up on those hooks. if you would run a 2/0 vmc treble on the plug consider going as high as a 4 or 5/0 bkk single hook. maybe even more. i run 4/0 on plugs as small as the zuri topknock spook which is around an oz. on wooden spooks 1.5-2 oz i'll run as high as 5 or a 7/0. as long as the spook doesn't sink they usually swim really well with singles. and on the doc and lil doc you can run 7, 9/0 and 11/0.
We had a rather short big bass spring this year on the surf. I had I pretty decent night spring bite fishing behind ISBP on soft plastics. Nothing huge but all fish were keepers in the dark
I’ve been told that bluefish when they’re in cold water are not bad eating. I know for a fact when they reach Florida they are not the best eating fish. Someday I’ll try to figure out a way to cook them where they do taste good. They are a lot of fun to catch.
the south jetty got a ton of work on it, not sure how how true it is but a white buck tail you'll get the bass on the top or the north.... been killing it right on the south jetty the past few weeks think it has to do with the rocks showing. anything white or blue has been doing wonders for the 7-10 lbs
I thought jetty meant jetski lol saw those waves and weather and was like... my man about to go out there on the jetski to get some content for us! Salute haha Great video as always!
Great video but you had to be annoyed with that guy standing there watching you fish but yet asking you for the fish you catch. That shit grinds my gears so bad
Unfortunately he gets wierd w the camera, lowering his visor in the car to avoid revealingg his fishing spot. He pays for getting tups feom other people or sime network so he woukd not tell. This would be last video watching him....
I gotta be going to that place at the wrong time lol. I never have luck there and its a haul, good work out tho. Love the spot tho. Time for me to roam the surf for flounder. love the video, as always
Dillon what knot do you have tied to your speed clip? New to surf fishing with mono I've got the FG braid to mono part but the speed clip to mono has been difficult
Hey Dillon I’m hooked your channel in less than a day! I’m a bass fisherman but really thinking of getting into surf fishing. Quick question - I don’t like to use spinning gear. Do you ever use or can you even use some form of baitcaster in surf fishing?
@@Tyborz Finally grabbed my first ever Striper up here in Hampton, New Hampshire. 26" 5.5 lbs., 2" under the low limit. I'm 66, newly retired, away from the game for a very long time. So stoked!

I got a 22 inch fluke on a diamond jig jigging for bass too.

Try cooking with rice krispies fried in butter
The smaller ones are very good. The big monsters no go.

Keep it going dillon, we love fish out here in the place were at.
good to see you back in jersey!
Good to see ya back in jersey dude.
I caught a monster fluke off of the Jaws Bridge on MV. It was probably about 14 pounds
Forget the fishing, seeing the Inlet Deli when you pulled in made me dream of a bacon, egg and cheese on a hard roll...
Blues and stripers seemed to have really slowed down. I was up at the north end few days ago. Maybe try further north? Belmar area?
Noticed this too, bluefish are harder to tell but the heat waves def play a part I think
How do you do it with the line bc bluefish would of snapped my line?
LETS GO NEW VIDEO🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Video went crazy brotha
My hometown baby! Caught many many nice size fish off that south jetty
Where is this ? I can’t find it in video and I’m trying to find new places to fish in Jersey there’s nothing up north
@@jhoff22 I was wondering the same thing. The lighthouse in the background looked like Barnegat.....??
1:32 i recognize that jetty spot Im right around the corner
What type of leader do you use when throwing plugs for blues?
I see you keep your lures in cups in your bag. Did you separate them with anything? I tried it and the bottoms got tangled.
Dam !! I haven’t seen some fish since 70s , great job
Where is this jetty exactly? I live in nj looking for a good spot to fish for blues and stripers. Love the vid btw!
