    EVF, I'll echo previous comments. You have nothing to apologize for in your commentary. Your opinions are based on your extensive experience. Better yet, through your vids we have witnessed a fair amount of that exp. So give it to us straight and level (as you always have) and turns us loose to experiment with your guidance. Period. And thank you!!! Frankly more of these types of vids would be much welcomed by me during the off-season. Really, your content is wonderful. Don't second guess our confidence in it, or you. It's why I'm here. All the best to you and yours. Hope all had settled down from the storm and flooding. Hope the lady and the horses are all well. Cheers!

    Your ghost mullet shad has helped me catch more striper this season than any I’ve had before; and it’s not even November. Never encountered a better paddletail, nearly bought out the stock!! Thanks for the quality Elias, it shows time and time again.

    Many crankbait also work with stripers. Any rapalas over 1/2 oz (or ratotrap, old style cotton Cordell, etc) works great if you are bank fishing for them

    From shore I use the storm shads/bucktail with a teaser but in the Hobie your swim shads are lights out. I was giving them to guys not catching and they were hooking into better quality bass this spring. A few days it was nothing under 30". We had a decent spring this year and I seen you a few times out there. Thanks again for sharing us the experience you put on the water.

      Yes,
      Carolina inlet holds their interest every fall run! with a north wind try John's creek area it's just north of the inlet or just south it all depends on the wind. the brackish water out of the inlet meets the clean ocean water can traps the bait. Tomorrow try launching your kayak near the Carolina pier or where ever you feel safe!
      Good luck

    Thanks for this. I have over 15 years of angling experience, but having recently moved to Maine from California, let's just say striper fishing is not exactly my area of expertise. Being the start of October, I'm really hoping there are still some stripers in the local waters to get at. I'll do my best to implement some of these tactics this week as I get out and try fisting for stripers ;)
    Thanks for the information!

      That's funny, I just moved from California to Massachusetts and just started fishing for striper/ bluefish. Try to get a bluefish man the fight is unreal.

    • @awkwardme5375
      @awkwardme5375 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheMlf I keep hearing that. I also keep hearing it's regarded as a trash fish. I personally enjoy eating bluefish. Something tells ne they're just a "nuisance" to the guys going after stripers, and that's why they're hated so much. I'll be in Mass tomorrow for my birthday. Will hopefully get into something down there. Welcome to New England!

  • @MackinNC1
    @MackinNC1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    FYI, think i told you this before but where you are now the Stripers rarely and I mean rarely venture in full saltwater, they stay in the rivers or brackish water and rarely go into full salt. This fish from the Cape fear south to the ST Johns in Florida are known for not going into full salt. Neuse river north they do, So down at wilmingtom you are going to have to catch them in the river,

    I'm looking forward to a striper video in the Cape Fear River especially for some tips and information since you live in the area now. I'm relatively new to fishing for striped bass and I havent had the best luck the past few years. I imagine fishing for them in the ocean is different than the rivers. Apparently on the river near the downtown area is where they hang out. Unfortunately you can't keep them though but I'm okay with that for now.
