- EXTREME JIGGING WITH SWIMBAITS IN THE CAPE COD CANAL //
On this episode of Abenz Fishing we are jigging the Cape Cod Canal for stripers and bluefish. The Cape Cod Canal may be one of the most extreme land based jigging spots. The combination of ripping tides, extreme depths, harsh terrain, the fishery and more make it something truly unique.
The Cape Cod Canal is one of the most sought after land based striped bass destinations. The canal can yield striped bass up to 50 lbs and has been home to some of the most insane striped bass blitzes for decades. The Cape Cod Canal is not for the feint of heart and is an intimidating landscape.
On this episode of the Cape Cod episode the stars aligned and WE FOUND THEM! We absolutely crushed the blue fish and striped bass on magic swimmers and jigs. It was some awesome fishing!

That ODM D.N.A can throw 5.5 oz jigs without problem,
But it's super difficult to jig with that rod, is to soft wich make it a great rod for top water lures like pencil poppers. I had to buy a black hole striped bass special 2-8 for jigging the canal.
Those black hole rods are absolutely amazing, you can jig with it, but not the traditional jigging method. More of just a twitch retrieve on the bottom
Great video….been trying myself to get into them but timing is everything….Can you give details on rods and specs…Have a ODM 3-8 ounce 11’ for jigging.Want another to throw top water and maybe alittle lighter lures..

I am almost positive what you saw was a juvenile Minke Whale. I Fish that area in my boat yearly and I have seen a lot of them from the mouth of the canal up to Barnstable harbor along with Dolphins and Seals @@AbenzFishing
@AbenzFishing zoom in its 110% a mola. You can see the lil fins going ape shit. Im watching this in a 5" cellphone screen on 720/60 and i can see it clear as day.

This is east end of the canal, there are a lot of great places like this that are easier to fish around the cape btw - this one is tough - thanks!

Oh it’s definitely infamous, I’m a local who has seen some ish here. Shoulder to shoulder and you have to fight like your life depended on it just to keep your spot .

Fast Sinking, If their on the surface, that means they're aggressive, just burn and it'll still stay up top but if they're low, it also works
